I'm a Christian and I want the world to know that, but I also want the world to know what real Christianity is, how true Christians should act, and that you don't need to be a white bread, Ned Flanders type to follow Jesus.
I know I'm being picky but is there a Christian band that's not "core"? Not rock like pillar and skillet, something heavy but with mostly clean vocals.
All the claimed Christian Bands are EVIL! You're trying to deceive us! Look at their lives before you say they are Christians!! In the mighty name of Jesus of Nazareth, I reject, I renounce, I rebuke the spirit of Lies, Blasphemy, Rebellion, deceit, fear, envy, stubbornness, hard-heartedness, Jealousy, Bitterness in you #JosiahNordquist! I cast them out in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth!
Great list! You need to check out Pantekrator. More of a black metal missionary group than just a band. Their love for Christ is infectious! Check out their version of "Awesome God". Every song they play glorifies God in every way possible. Either through scripture or life experiences.
The most Bibical and heaviest band their is.... DIAMONDS TO DUST. Corpus Christi is wild!!!! It even does scripture in Latin too at the final break down.
If you like these Christian metal bands Check out As i lay dying. seen em live also met em. And all believers. Fit for king and Holy name whos previous name was sleeping giant. Just to name a few.
@JosiahNordquist I only got about halfway through the video, and mean no disrespect at all. Christian metal bands are my favorite though maybe not your style. I’m citing bands like X-Sinner, Stryper, deliverance, etc. But the content of the songs that you’re citing are more teaching and discipleship than Worship. I consider praise music to be directed towards the Lord, and and would refer to other songs as examples of Worship than the ones that you mention here. That said one of the biggest reasons that I like Christian metal besides, the music itself is that they do sing directly from scripture. It does indeed honor God, but it is directed more towards the audience than towards Him.
Wolves at the Gate are the greatest band of all time! Steve's lyrics are unreal. Surprised you didn't mention Sleeping Giant. Was it because they're no longer making music? Would be interested in your thoughts on Project 86 - especially with their new double concept album
Disciple is one of my all time favorite band and I have had some real worshipful moments with God through their music. Their lyrics are so beautifully worshipful!
As far as I understand about black metal, both as a progenitor of black metal and as a fan of it, black metal overall is about being the villain and the spiritual aspect associated. I've heard it said that black metal is about being evil. I wholly disagree, but many share that viewpoint and showcase it. Death metal is more about the present and material. A way to look at it is, black metal is Lovecraftian and death metal is Kafkaesque. Much love to you brother, from one follower of Christ to another, even if we are on opposite sides of the aisle. In love and in Christ, my brother. ❤️
All your picks for "heavy metal" seem to revolve around the bleh, the growling. There are many styles in heavy metal, which I was hoping to hear a few. My personal picks would be hard rock style. (Even Jon Bon Jovi was considered "heavy metal" back in the day). Gimme some Folk Metal (like D'artagnan) & some Power Metal (like Dan Vasc, Sabaton, GloryHammer, DragonForce. Etc). Your lists are stuck in the bleh modes.
Murderer by Impending Doom; read the lyrics, and realize they’re all in. I would call them death metal and their themes run more along the lines of spiritual warfare and the reality of what’s happening and at stake. Diamonds to Dust is great as well.
Bro watching this as a new christian, ive fallen in love with your personality already. God bless you bro! you earned a sub. couldn't relate harder to what you spoke out there man.
