Welcome to my channel where I will be exploring the extent of my woodworking skills and bike maintenance skills. ru-vid.com/show-UCh_BMv3Z3s_5m6YclGb22vw
I have been diagnosed with MCI and my short term memory is shot to bits, I'm hoping that doing something I love, will help me to remember some of the better things I think I'm good at.
Why should you watch this channel? Why not! It may help you to understand someone better and you never know you might get to see something that you might like to make with my clear and sometimes daft instructions.
Over the past few years my mental health has declined and this seems to be a good way of dealing with it.
If I can inspire someone to make something, or change an opinion of someone then I'm on the right path.
Having a 45 degree vital on levels is more of a nuisance than helpful. In nearly 50 years on building sites, I never needed one once, it was always horizontal or vertical that was needed. A 90 degree vital on both ends is much better.
All you need now is 😊 a job that's going to need a 6' Level . Have fun with your new found trinket. Do leave it laying around !! Mr's Shed shop might take up husband beating as a new past time 😅😅😅.
Hi this seems to be the only video on RU-vid about this product. At some point a bit more information would be helpful. Are they accurate and do they have any flex when put under pressure. Thanks I’m an ageing Joiner looking for a cheap level to see my time out.👍
Hi thanks for the video. At some point I would like to know if they are accurate and if they have any flex when put under pressure. Another cheeky question is are you a tradesman and if so what do you do. Thanks 👍
Good bit of kit, especially if a mate wants you to pop round and set bike up. I used to work for Falcon/Claud Butler and did 200 odd bikes a day, obviously their stands were industrial and not as flexy but these for the money are stable and up to the job. This you can chuck in car boot, on your drive whatever and it's fine. Currently turning an old Raleigh Banana into a fixie but been working on my mates vintage Kona MTB no problems with tube width at all.
Thanks for the heads up, I bought the very same one for£30 three years ago which i keep fixed in my garage but i could do with another one for outside washing 😀 Nice one fella 👍
I have two suggestions. 1. Always start and finish AT THE VALVE. This way the tire bead can drop all the way into the center channel of the rim as you are lifting the opposite side over the edge of the rim for the initial or final lift. This is especially necessary for tubeless tires/rims. 2. Stand up! Hold your arm straight! Push down with your body weight on the palm of your hand! Use this method for the initial few inches when removing or the final few inches when installing. This is the way that the inventor of the Tyre Glider says to use it. But it seems like good advice for the Tyre Monkey as well.
Tyre Glider - if the tire is tight, you are supposed to stand over the tire, extend your arm straight, and use your body weight to push with your palm. And putting some dish soap (washing up liquid for you Brits) on the bead would probably help as well.
Great idea mate 👍 😊 but, i must say i was somewhat disappointed 😞 😕 **** - ** When you said an upgrade 😊 i thought ye'h he's buying a a new one 😊 yippee, maybe i could buy your old one. But 👎 no 👎. The upgrade turns out to be a sheet of magnetic white board 😢😢😢. One disappointed 😞 father- in- law. Great idea though one thing with multiples uses 👍. Cheers Les.
That was so funny to watch, and a flipping GREAT idea. They cost a fortune to buy a good cat scratching post, and you plus Mrs She'd Shop mDe it look easy...
As a newly buyer of a new type, RED Tyre Glider (Imported from the UK to be sure to get the new version) I was impressed with the ease of removing the tyre from the rim! I bought mine mainly for use on my Special Lightweight Brompton. Finn. Denmark
Nice vídeo. A whole lot of rimming going on! 😮 Could do with some more close ups please Top tip: use some Fairy Liquid on the tyre as lube at the tight point and it will slip on like a dream. Would like to see a test on Conti Gatorskin Hardshells 😅😅😅
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I didn't realise I had said it soo many times until I was editing and felt like a right donut so thought best make the most of it 😀 these tyres are bontrager hardcase and had been in the sun for a bit too long so I think that may have helped a lot. I say "SUN" like I know what that is living in the UK we rarely see it😉 I do have some other videos with more close ups and no doubt will be doing another one of these when I take of my Conti's from my Lewis bike, that'll probably be a challenge, thankyou and keep watching for more videos soon
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I have to say I am surprised at the inner tubes being sliced I can honestly say I have never had it happen, all I could recommend would be a bit of air in the tube before you put the tyre back on and make sure you have pushed it back inside the tyre. Good luck with that and keep watching for more videos soon
You know when someone knows what they're talking about on the subject of tyres, when they have the writing on the tyre near the valve ( to help find the valve, and relate the position of the hole in the inner tube to the prick in the tyre) and pushed the valve to make sure the bead is below the inner tube
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I used to work in the bike industry, crikey that was over 20yrs ago now, that makes me feel old, but yep these are just things you pick up throughout life when you love bikes, thankyou for your nice comment and keep watching for more videos soon
It is amazing just how many people actually don't. Even more amazing when people from cycling clubs can't take care of their own bikes, that makes the mind boggle
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I am glad to hear that you have a favourite, personally this was my first actual result from the tyre monkey, the thing I like about the new tools over traditional levers is that there is only one tool that can "most" of the time do the same as three levers. Thankyou and keep watching for more videos soon
for taking off i think i find usual tyre leavers easier but putting on tight tyres there is nothing like the glider makes it so easy. Money still works as well but it's not quite so nice on the hands to push as the wider contact point on the glider
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I agree, the tye glider fits the hand really well and I think it looks the nicest too, it's definitely the best way to put a tyre on it's quite effortless and buttery smooth. This was my first real result with the monkey but I don't think I will be convinced to change to it yet. Thankyou and keep watching for more videos soon
hmm interesting. I managed to break 3 of the red tyre glider's trying to change a simple 26" MTB tyre. I have not tried the Tyre Monkey yet but I have kinda lost hope for the trye glider which were a waste of money
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I have definitely had trouble with them both before on mountain bike tyres as it goes but I've managed to get the tyre glider to work more consistently. This actually was the first time I've managed to get a tyre off and on with the tyre monkey properly, other than that it has always failed. It is a real shame to hear you've had that much trouble with the "Glider", I really enjoy using it, even on those tyres that don't want to budge, keep watching for more videos weekly. Thankyou for watching and your comments.
I've always had success with the tyre glider. As the video says, you have to "break the bead" by pushing the sidewalls towards the well, and then it works fine. It's absolutely great for refitting! All my bikes have 26" wheels.
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, it is a real shame there are a few flaws and some that are almost worth sending it back for, the depth stop mainly. My problem is it's still a really good saw for the price and I'm sure I can work out a better way of using the depth stop for trench cutting. Unfortunately Rutlands have a really nice cordless version coming out soon and it has a much better trench cutting facility. I would've bought that if I had have known. Thankyou and keep watching
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I am glad to see people agreeing, I still really like the tyre glider as I have dexterity issues and it has been a godsend since Mrs Shedshop found out about it. I have to say tho there are definitely some tyres and more so rims that are not equipped for use with them, which is a shame. Back in the 90's I don't think I can remember a single tyre that I ever had as much trouble with as the amount that are around today.
Nice one, needed a good idea for her pants (not the mother in law but the misses) but yeah, and what's wrong with Black? You should be more kind to your lovely Old 2nd Marr. 👍
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I'm still chuckling while writing this, all I can see is the mother in law reading that comment and giving me soo much grief about how she likes to paint everything black in the garden and telling me that everyone else agrees because of your one message. I love that thankyou for cheering up my day and keep watching for more from Adi's Little Shedshop.
Just side thought, wouldn't some longer skinny lag screws work a bit better to not use so many screws? Could get like maybe three to four layers per lag screw. Other than that, nice planters!
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I have to agree, lag screws would definitely have been better but I was doing it on a budget so I used what I had laying around, next time tho when Mrs Shedshop wants some made they'll definitely be getting some long lag screws for sure. Thankyou for watching
There are slight gaps between the base panel, I was asked to drill holes in the base but I didn't want to, and Mrs Shedshop agreed that there was plenty of drainage from the space between the base lengths. Thankyou
Lovely job mate 👍, bit over the top with the Mother-in-law lol. Old saying happy wife happy life, but this also includes Mother-in-law. Nice bit of timber, and that chop/slide saw is going great guns too. Nothing wrong with the positive stop mate 👍 it works as it's meant to, and an end stop is never a permanent fixture.
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop. Crumbs that's a shocker I've never heard of the Tyre Glider doing that before, but then again there are soo many tyres and tubes and rims out there they can't cater for them all, so sorry to hear that, I hope you've not given up on it and had better luck since. Thankyou and keep watching
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I think it probably is a reverse thread on the arbour the problem is the screw to the cover before even getting to the arbour but I'm going to give one last go with the impact driver this weekend and see if that'll budge it. Thankyou for the advice and keep watching
Use a bit of dish soap thats what i ended up doing the old BMX trick from back in the day on schwalbe big betty the casing are so tight! I have a 27.5 and 29er and damb wouldn't wish this job on anyone who's not used to it! Schwalbe say leave them in the sun for half hour to soften what in the UK 😂 bit dish soap and hairdryer i ended up having to use! Not something you could do at the side of the road so will be swapping these out for maxxis later!
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I think this is one of the best comments to date. I am in total agreement with leaving tyres out in the sun in the UK, chance would be a fine thing, where do these tyre manufacturers think everyone lives and will only replace a tyre on a sunny day. Not here in Essex I can tell you, oh no, if it needs changing here it's probably a pothole that you didn't see because it was full of rain water. I have been filming today and actually had a total success with both the monkey and glider so keep an eye out for it and thankyou for watching
Schwalbe tyres are a nightmare to get off mtb rims! My big Betty is an absolute £*#&#&@^## of a thing to get over the edge hopefully this new improved tyre glider works better that ive ordered! Got a larger gap for the rim
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I hope you have managed to get a successful use from the tyre glider, I think it really is the best thing since the tyre lever, especially if you have dexterity issues, the learning curve can be a frustrating one tho. Good luck and keep watching
I extended the base of our old shed with some more 2x2 slabs, wouldn't recommend using pallets! I let the Mrs put the window in.....easiest bit! Yes last two roof panels were a pain, used a flat prybar. Top tip, don't assemble in cold weather as the plastic will be brittle.
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, we were going to use slabs but it was possibly only going to be a semi permanent placement as the Mrs is already thinking of knocking down the old wooden shed and getting one of the better Keter ones so it'll probably all have to move for some concrete to go down. It does have some 50cm Rebar stakes that have been added since the video tho which is handy. That's a top tip and never even thought about the cold, I bet it would just shatter with a little love TSP from the mallet.
I'm not a contractor or even play one on TV, but I do know if these aren't put on very level ground, it is a bitch to line up drill holes, roof or door. Need to be anchored down or it will be the property of the little old widow who lives a block away.
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I totally agree with that statement these are extremely hard to put up on uneven ground we helped with one before we got ours and learned that lesson there which was quite handy because normally I would just eye it and say that'll do, this time took ages levelling the floor out and screwed the flooring to the pallets. Since filming we put 50cm Rebar stakes in to make sure it doesn't end up in our neighbors. Thankyou and keep watching
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I think the blade arbour is going to be a reverse thread, unfortunately there is a screw to undo before getting to it which I haven't re-attempted yet and the manual is ok but doesn't have the most detailed pictures or instructions in, shame really because it is a really good saw
Well worth the money 💰 🤑 And perfectly set up, all squared up as well my you have been a lucky boy 👦. Now I know it's ok 👍 when can I come round and pick it up ??? 😊 Dear son in law.
Would it not depend if your left handed or right handed.. think it should go other side unless mother is left handed ;) Also if horizontal your mother can rest on it with her lower arm when gripping.
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, usually you would be absolutely correct, unfortunately she only has use of her left hand for the time being but as soon as she is able to use her right side it will definitely be getting second one put in so there's a choice then. I think what I should have done is put a second one in horizontal for her to rest on too. Thankyou for watching, I might just do that
Hi thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I'm pretty sure you can put the window in any one of the 4 corners of the shed as the panels are interchangeable. If you are thinking of getting one definitely read through the manual first but I reckon you can definitely pop it in each corner as long as there isn't a brace in the way.
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I'm so glad someone else has heard of Rutlands, it's like a little best kept secret company. I know they source they're tools and pop their name on them with a little tweak here and there but........I love them. What's the bandsaw like? I've often wondered and then been told No! By Mrs Shedshop
Another thought has just come to me, free wood ? If you can find anyone who's breaking caravans, the boards underneath the cushions I think are marine grade ply ?? Would that work ?? For you. Cheers Les.
Use the sides, top and panels, work it down to a smaller size ! Re-size the draws to fit, smaller as a storage unit, for bits and pieces and odds and sods.
The most laughable video comparison I've ever seen, sometimes its better to use a little bit of brain cell rather than using brute force. This is a BIG LMAO.
Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I will take that on board, I do try to make them fun tho, otherwise they can get a bit boring, this truly was a struggle tho and it comes down to wrong rim type. Thankyou tho and keep watching
Hi thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I did buy some sealant to actually seal each piece, then decided not to use it after nothing really fit together as it should, but it has been through some serious weather including 50mph winds and so far it is still standing, only leaking once. That was quickly fixed with some P sealant around the doors. If you are building one I wish you luck, I hope you have a better version of it than I had, there was way too much swearing that day.
