have u ever considered making your own controller? I am, I will shortly start to publish for FREE all my designs with proof they work and any one can make them and save a fortune.
I gave up, I designing my own charge controller, the Mr power are not good enough, they will not last long, not enough decoupling caps, they should be running warm not hot with fans.
I have the old version of this , it has 2 X 350w pannels at 35v in series , in broad sunshine it gives 60a at 12v but here in Scotland it's cloudy alot. I would like to add 2 X 250w pannels in series in paralell with the 350w pannels , will that damage the controller?
I have 2 350w pannels connected to this old controller in paralell and want to add 2 more 250w pannels in series , both sets in paralell to controller , do you think controller will be ok with this?
I have the old mppt powmr 60a mppt controller . Had for 5 years and it's great , only thing I've never been able to do is get it to automatically switch off the load when say sun goes behind cloud so load to much and battery voltage drops to low. What do you think best way to automate this? Thankyou for sharing. I have 2 X 420w pannels in series and in direct sun I get 60a at 12v out :) happy bunny
Hi. I have tried peak shift mode but the problem is, the battery gets charged using the grid in situation where solar production is low like in cloudy/rainy days or at night. Is there a solution for this?
Since it doesn't throttle... when that fan goes you might have a fire, you will have smoke genies at the least and the whole thing will be dead. I'll pass. Thanks for the info.
Thankfully it does have over temp protection so while not ideal to have a fan it’ll shut off if it gets too hot. Aka fan dies which you are correct is inevitable.
@@BeeneEnergy Thanks that is good to know. I might look into it more closely now. I'm liking the EPever though I ordered a 30a full kit the little separate screen, temp sensor, computer link cable all for $95 including shipping from Aliexpress a few days ago. The 30a is a little smaller than the 60 you showed, but looks about the same. I'd say it is 50% smaller.
I have the huge astronergy 650w bifacials and they barely pull in half of what they are rated at. They don't even come close to comparing to other makers like Hyperion, JASolar, Renogy type panels. Very dissapointing.
Not sure I really understand this. So are saying for an extra 1.5% extra power one should and buy more expensive solar panles??? I think you need to compare the cost of the two types of panels so we can make a better informed decision. Depending on how much more expensive the bifacial panels are I would honestly stick with the monos.
Most of the people I help are off grid which makes a bigger difference. Also bi facial panels don’t typically cost any more than a mono facial at this point.
@@BeeneEnergy Thank you for your reply. I am currently living off grid and would like to add to my current solar array. Cost of the system is a real big deal for me. If the bifacial panels are not more expensive then it's a no brainer. Thanks again for pointing that out
Question. I have 4 60 amp charge controllers with 3 panel arrays that are about 1300 watts each. Could panel to bus bars to distribute to the controllers and from controllers to bus bus bars to my battery bank with no problem? I was thinking it would be good for shading and general current distribution without wearing out the controllers seeing that they're grounded equally. I had an issue before the controllers were too close to the max amp value and getting too hot . So instead of 3 I'm using 4.
I have the newer 80amp one with fans and it was working fine all day then at like 3 it stopped producing wattage and amps it was showing 90v coming in but no watts coming in nothing going out. I have 48v system with only 2400w
It will be easier to describe the problem: PowMR 6.2 KW inverter The installation of photovoltaic panels is 3.6 KW, the inverter is not connected to the battery and is not connected to the grid. I have a 2 KW water heater connected to the inverter output. The inverter will not turn on the heater even in full sunlight. If I turn on a 500-watt receiver instead of a heater, the inverter produces electricity. How to set the inverter to provide current all the time regardless of the load, I want it to provide as much current as is currently in production and not to turn off when I turn on a larger load. Photovoltaic installation: 225Wx16=3600W 36.9Vx16=295.2V Inverter Settings ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l9n7lgL5nu4.htmlfeature=shared
I am planning to buy this over the weekend! Can’t wait. I bought a raspberry pi 4 4gb which I’ll be using with a 7” touch screen and a 65gb micro ssd. Cant wait. What computer system are you using to run yours? What type of screen/monitor? I’m hoping the program is touch screen compatible. I heard at first it wasn’t but that it does have some support for it now after they did some updates.
For lifepo4 l, how can we lock amphere with which the battery is being charged in bulk charging mode? Does this mppt controller decide the amphere by itself? Or do we have amphere lock settings in the BMS?
What will happen if bms suddenly disconnects the battery from this charge controller? Will this PowMr survive DC power coming from PV in this case? I have been using this mppt charge controller for five years with lead acid battery, but now I am planning to switch to lifepo4 which will be charged with this charge controller.
How does it decide the amount of constant current (Ah) for lithium batteries? I watched in your video it was giving 300wh to your battery bank in sunny day even though you have 1kw+ PV attached. Does it reduce the amount of amphere to maintain constant amp from fluctuating flow of power from PV? Why are you not able to charge your lithium battery with maximum power available from PV?
@@nizamersoftware It’ll run cc cv in lithium mode. So if the set voltage point has been reached the current will start to taper off until the battery doesn’t want any more current.
Thank you for exhaustive explanation! I am noob and was confused which wire where to connect. All those rings, washers, terminals, sequence of connections... Now i have some basic understanding! Please please, make a tutorial on 16s DIY battery! Greetings from Ukraine!
Yelp. Been doing that for some time.. need to get backup and running. Griddy rocked.. to bad tx pushed them out because of stupid people that did not know whole sale is subject to change in demand etc.. :-)
Powmr all in ones have it going on with the high voltage solar input. They have good active cooling also. Just the 60 amp grid charger function alone is worth the price of admission. With solar and my generator the 5000 watt Powmr all in one will pump out 4kw into my battery pack, while running my house through bypass.
I've bought 4 batteries at a time, 3 times and they were different brands each time. Purchased from Temu for about $137 each. Thanks for all the videos you've done.
I’ll try. The Schneider creates a grid (240v ac) for the enphase inverters to sync up to. Then it uses the power the enphase inverters are generating to charge the battery. Once the battery is full the Schneider sends signals to the enphase inverters to slow down production since there is nowhere for the power to go any more.
Ok sure but extrapolated out to a 10kw array that’s 325 watts mono facial or 495 watts bi facial. For grid tie no it doesn’t make a difference as they both stink but off grid that might mean the difference in 1kwh of production for the day.
The c stands for calibration it should be set to the actual battery voltage. Im haveing the opposite problem with mine i have a 109 amp hour lead acid. I have 2 24v 200w panels wired in parallel and it stays in mode 7 and wont switch to mode 8 its been in 7 for a day now i have no load on the battery edit: finaly switched to mode 8
Interesting i have 10x 455w panels and huawei ktl6 L1 all in off grid mode and cant start an AC! it just turns off.. dont get what the issue is... theres around 11A max of the panels so realistic it could be around 8ish...
Hi beene energy. My powmr cannot set d01. When i pressed the enter button, the digit are not blinking. Why ? The only i can change in the settings mode is 24hr and type of battery.
