Still don’t get the front camera on landscape!! I like it where it is.. don’t use zoom calls! But on teams or FaceTime all works great and not awkward at all. On the other hand I often use my iPad in portrait mode! Half half with landscape on keyboard.

That's so weird. Doesn't affect me coming from 1st gen Apple Pencil - I'd have to upgrade either way but this will be frustrating for a lot of people.

@@bobdrums It’s most likely because of the fact that they have to fit both the charging and the camera in landscape, so to move the camera, they have to update the charging design, and that leads to new pencil.

My M2 Pro is still working perfectly well. Nothing here excites me except for the screen. However, these super powerful chips just running the severely limited iPad OS is starting to feel sillier every year. What I was trying to say was that without a big change to iPad OS, none of these releases are exciting enough to get me hyped (except the OLED screen) There’s really nothing here. An M2 chip can still power anything iPad OS can do five times over, so to be excited for an M4 is kinda pointless. It’s just wasted computing power. It’s like throwing a turbo engine in a donkey cart, if you can’t make use of it, what’s the point?

I suspect it’s because the new landscape camera is placed exactly where the magnetic charger is for the Gen 2 Apple Pencil, thus making you unable to charge and use it

For me, I traded in my 12.9 iPad Pro M2 and ordered the 13” with 1 TB and the Nano glass. I use DaVinci Resolve and FCP on it as well photo work so I am excited!! I also ordered the new Keyboard. At last Function keys and a bigger trackpad. I’ll get the pencil at a later date.

Just a price drop/discontinuation of the last home button iPad. If there were any spec bumps, it would’ve been the iPad 11. That’s rumored for later this year.

I wish we had the option of bigger batteries. Maybe some mag safe charging. I don’t have much choice but to update because the battery on my M2 pro is tired and the USB C port charges when it feels like it. I also think it’s a bit insulting that we can’t have a quality camera on a $3000 tablet. Yes I have an iphone but I don’t always have it handy.

Will my 12.9 Magic Keyboard work. Would trade in my 6th gen pro for the M4 but not trying to purchase another keyboard. Kinda feel like apple increased the size .1 to force us to purchase a whole keyboard again. Edit that’s a bummer hopefully when people get their hands on it and test it works with older Magic Keyboard. Or at least offer a trade in for keyboard not trying to have a stack of Magic Keyboard in the corner

It’s a new design due to the change in thickness, so you will need a new keyboard. I’m in the opposite situation-I have the M1 but want the new keyboard for its Force Touch Trackpad haptics.

🐬 I think ill go with the pro 1tb but want to see irl the size difference, I have the 11inch A12Z Bionic and that size worked perfectly until now… my main concern is the weight, for commuting I ended up buying an hp laptop that weighs less than 2 pounds 😢😅 it gets the job done and my backpack feels exactly the same 😊

The mini will likely get M2 if it even gets an M chip at all. It might just get an A-series chip and lack Stage Manager due to the smaller screen and since it’s not targeted at those who use external monitors.

The nano texture screen would surely accelerate wear on the Apple Pencil pro. And I suspect the reason for no Gen 2 Apple Pencil support, is because the new landscape camera is placed exactly where the magnetic charger is for the Gen 2 Apple Pencil, thus making you unable to charge and use it

This time around IDK the pro and air each have good arguments for one or the other. Probably going 13 air in purple (looks like it can be a good color) but I am going to strongly consider 13 pro

🐬 New subscriber here. I spoke with the biz guy at Apple and he said that the new Nano screen on the new iPad Pros are very high maintenance. I've reserved a new iPad Pro 11, with 1T of storage. I'm excited that we should be able to actually edit on this. Because It's lightweight, I carry my iPad with me everywhere. It's my most used device. I wish it had more ports, but I'll be getting this. I've needed an Upgrade for some time. Thanks for the video.

I bought the mini 6 back in December. It’s great as a bigger iPhone for work with data entry. Trying to draw on it sucks. Lying in bed watching videos both suck and doesn’t suck. I’m getting the 1TB 13 in Space Black with the Magic Keyboard and Pencil. My iPad Pro 9.7 is my kitchen TV.

As much as I appreciate what apple has to offer, they dropped the ball on not releasing a new iPad Mini. Been wanting to get one for my son and didn’t want to buy the one that’s currently out only to have the spec bump released during the holiday (which didn’t happen). So here we wait yet again. Get it together Apple. Make us proud.

Dude… it is absolutely absurd… you can’t use all the accessories which you already have and have to buy all the newer accessories if you want the same experience as the old one. That would mean you would spend more money on the iPad than a MacBook. It also means you need better iPad os which would have super features and fingers crossed the old M1 iPads still stay relevant when providing the new features from the OS POV

according to Apple compatibility list, the M2 iPad air does not support the folio keyboard. But i will test it once i get in the studio. I think it could work

the new iPads got landscape cameras. In the presentation Apple said they redesigned the front camera unit to make everything fit. Because of this the old charging design of the pencil 2 wouldn’t work at all. The USBC pencil works because it doesn’t even use that component to connect, and the new pencil pro was designed with this change in mind!

0:38 it's not a true 11" and 13" for the air... and 2:20 they don't work with the Apple Pencil 2 (only the pro and the usb-c)

Yes. If non-Pro devices ever get 120Hz, I'd think they wouldn't use the ProMotion name, but allowing the Apple Pencil Pro to be used on the iPad Air contradicts that theory.

@@techwithtyler20 yes. I want to buy air but if it's still 60 hz I wouldn't. I don't understand how some cheap phones in market gives 120hz and 144hz refresh rates and apple still stuck on 60 hz with their products. At least a 90hz refresh rate for the iphone plus models or ipad Air would suffice an average user like me.

Too bad they didn’t improve the battery on this new 12.9” Pro. Also, they removed 1 camera, one mic. Too bad, cause I actually take pictures from the iPad itself for work. On well, no upgrade🤷🏻

They mentioned the performance per watt on the M4 is twice as efficient as the M2, so the battery life WILL likely be affected positively (not to mention OLED/pixels turning off). Probably not a major improvement, but certainly some.

Snooze most iPad users they probably will skip this update. New Logic for iPad the stems was only thing interesting and not enough to switch from Logic Pro X on a Macbook. Not much info on the M4 so now to wait for WWDC to hopefully get more info on M4 Pro and Max.

I am giving a great suggestion, get the 5G/WiFi !! This is so worth it when you’re on the move and you don’t want to eat up your phones battery usage with a Hotspot.

According to the Apple website: iPad Pro is compatible with Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil (USB-C). No support for Apple Pencil Generation 2 any more it seems.

It was mostly great, but there’s always one or tow things that Apple drop the ball on, and this was no different. Differentiating RAM between 1TB and upwards from the lower storage is just pretty crappy of them. They didn’t need to do this, and now it makes them two different iPads with varying future proofing. I was fine with the battery, which I see as a trade off for a lighter iPad and the function row. The Pencil is really nice, but again, did they really need to mess people about with what iPad can use which Pencil? No MagSafe, which would’ve been a nice touch. What they did give us was a faster processor, a thinner and lighter iPad ,a better screen, a function row, a haptic trackpad that is larger, a pencil that offers rotational and squeeze gestures and a headache in our wallets. So nothing really changes, I guess. 🐬

No MagSafe, the nano-texture glass doesn't seem to be worth it. Magic Keyboard update unimpressive; I reckon the ESR for a 1/3 the price will do the job. New Pencil Pro will help with my artwork. My 3rd Gen 2016 is not really up to the level of art I do on it so I will be going for the eye-waveringly expensive 1TB version because I'll expect this to last another 8 years.
