omg i forgot that insatiable used her "jaw wired shut" as the crux of the show. I have had my jaw wired shut due to jaw surgery, and though I did lose a decent amount of weight, I did not show up to work suddenly a model lol god i hate that show.
Idc about how silly the "you need to go to college" argument is, i just struggle to understand the issue to begin with lmao not to mention why people are turning to Emma to get an education for free via podcast or something. Not saying she's "stupid" ! But i think whenever these "[random famous person] should give their accurate(?) take on [major complex topic] or else!!!" arguments start coming up the question quickly becomes: ...are you ? Or is it just an attempt at a not-so-humble brag ? (it's both i think) What i'm also not understanding is why people are listening if they very clearly don't vibe with the format itself? From what i've gathered it's supposed to be like someone turned their mic on and is rambling so themselves so obviously it's going to go in circles at times, or feel a little confusing or whatever (she pretty competently explained so herself..) so what i'm wondering is: Why listen to her silly little podcast if what you're fiening for is some "highly educated" in-depth analysis of various researches on the topic of the "science" behind romance or whatever 😭 Also, the thought of Hasan having "intellectual authority" over anyone is actually worrying
I don't understand why they decided to make "experiences" when they decided to sacrifice quality for quantity. The experiences with clusters of shows fail to understand that there's so much to watch on Netflix (original content and otherwise) that I haven't gotten round to watching most of the IPs you listed. That makes me not their target audience, but when they're making more and more, isn't everyone gonna feel alienated? Oh cool a Netflix experience with all these shows I've never heard of! That makes me feel less connected to Netflix! If it was themed and treated like an art exhibition maybe I would go. the netflix experience: romance edition? Spy month?
Anyway I knew streaming was over when Fox removed all their content from Netflix to make their own service. There is just no way I'm paying for those when I can 'watch online free'
I loved it when I joined in 2017. I was the first in my class to have it... stopped loving it by 2020, stopped respecting it by 2022. Now I hope they go broke, sort of as a revenge for all the amazing shows they cancelled after 1 season.
Hell I'm still salty about Lilyhammer! - Netflix's first big original series. It was so freakin good and funny and, well, original and they canceled it after a few seasons. This horrible habit of playing games with our hearts is nothing new at all.
The /ea/ in "Jeanne" is pronounced like the /a/ in "Patrick" or "that". To really simplify it the last name is pronounced "Dark" but the /a/ is also pronounced like the one in "Patrick" lmao hope that made sense Also, the only good biopic is Bojack Horseman 😁
I feel like this is happening to all streaming platforms and just companies in general. i don't know what happened but all of them collectively destroyed the creativity and favored mindless content like they just want to waste peoples time now. loved the video <3
Why did we spend like so long explaining what streaming is when we all are streaming right now just to watch this I don’t think that was the best use of our watch time when we could’ve just talked about the topic at hand
There was a trend like this a while back for like kids, it was fairies and fairy hunters idk it started from like kids pretending to fly on tic tok idk 🤷
Netflix games, restaurants etc. and the pricing are just so silly 😭 Their business decisions literally feel like Nathan Fielder infiltrated their ranks or something (the "Algorythm" typo and the 51:21 French jumpscare really elevate the video)
thought I'd stop by to let you know youtube have decided to go ahead & permanently PARK your video in the #1 spot on my homepage until i watch it all the way through!
100% agree. I hardly watch it anymore. They keep suggesting things I’ve watched. A whole line of shows I’ve watched over the years. They’re suggested shows are cancelled shows-Deadboy Detectives just showed up. I’m ready to cancel after almost 20 years because they have nothing for me anymore. And one good show a year isn’t worth it.
I unsuscribed from Netflix the moment they cancelled Glow -- or more like un-renewed it after S4 was written and they started shooting (but had to stop because, you know, 2020). I also lost the very little trust in people I had left.
Honestly, Netflix just needs a setting that says "exclude all Netflix Original Series from Browse" and then if you hear about a specific one and wanna watch it you can always just use the search bar to get there. Like just type out "Arcane" and you got it, bada bing, bada boom, no problem. But other than what you heard was good through word of mouth that junk no longer ruins the experience of scrolling through there. Combine that with a slightly larger catalogue of non-Netflix stuff and we're back to the golden age.
They cancelled so many good shows and completely butchered The Witcher which has so much potential but they decided to produce 50 seasons of Rivendale.
Okay but Netflix original writing style also sucks because every episode of an original series ends on a cliffhanger so you feel the need to move onto the next episode. It is the same thing YA authors do to keep their readers invested. That’s why the hunger games books were binge reads, they didn’t have substance but was face paced and each chapter ended on a cliff hanger to entice the reader to keep going
I think you were a little biased in the games part. The service actually has a lot of great games like Poinpy, Immortality, Into The Breach, Case of the Golden Idol or Katana Zero, etc. The people leading the games division have a good eye to bring great indie games even if Netflix is shit in everything else.
It's so strange that remotes have company buttons. The last one I got, aside from RU-vid, it had several others that're like cool, I don't have any of these, and there's even more streaming services now, not included, which you might actually have. Just useless
Does anyone else remember when Netflix was just a service that sent the DVDs of the movies you selected to your house? and then you’d send them back once you watched them. I have lots of memories with my dad of choosing the movies we’d order for next time we were at his house :) it all went downhill from there
you had me until saying insatiable sucked, the problem was not the show it was the marketing. The show is one of the most exciting and fresh take in the teen drama genre and I cannot believe I am defending Netflix right now but that is a great example of the new forms of television that pushes boundaries that streaming was created for. I am aware pastiche, parody and post modernism isn't for everyone but camp as a genre is barely explored nowadays and Insatiable was a great example of this done expertly so we missed out not getting a 3rd season
Gonna be honest, Amy Winehouse passed me by while she was alive. I was young, out clubbing, spending time with various women, travelling etc. I was aware of her, I liked some of her songs, but she was just one of many artists in that era and I didn't take particular notice of her. I watched this film you're discussing though, and since then I've binged all her albums, unreleased stuff, live performances etc. I've watched interviews with her, documentaries about her. This film made me a fan, and for that I'm grateful. I now know it's not very accurate, but it still got me into her story and music.
