Just an old bloke on a Goldie (usually) who likes traveling around on motorcycles (some old, some new) visiting our history, industrial heritage and old places of interest.
Good to see you on your feet and enjoying the good weather. Who would of thought medical healing was so mechanical, good job your a dab hand with the spanners🤣 Take care and i look forward to the next update 👍
It's a long hard road to recover. You are working hard at it and i understand the pain medication cycle well! Good to see your update and lets see if a combined mental effort can help mend those bones!
Nice to see that you're making progress and your engineering skills put to use on the frame. Looking forward to your recovery and seeing you ride your MCs. 👍
Many thanks for the update, it's amazing what the human form can do to repair itself, I didn't know bones could grow. I hope the adjustments do the trick and the lower break is sorted. I'm amazed you own metric spanners ! Keep up the good work, we're all rooting for you and are looking forward to seeing more interesting rambles. Best wishes.
Thanks for watching and for the comments. The human body is an amazing thing and I've learned a lot about it over the past few months. Unfortunately all three of my modern bikes are metric fasteners so the metric content of my toolbox has increased dramatically since I got the BSA last March😂😂😂 A couple more ramble on the way. Cheers Rog
Glad to see you're making good progress Rog, being able to walk without sticks even for a short distance must make you feel a lot better. All the best and be careful, Mick
Thanks Mick. Yes, the walking spurs me on a lot but its on hold at the moment as the frame adjustments have now started to introduce a certain amount of discomfort till the leg gets used to it. Once its settled down I'll be walking again.
Hi glad to see your very slowly getting fixed hopefully I know what it’s like to be laid up for a few weeks but I know yours is more complicated than I’ve had it’s so bldy boring isn’t it I’m not one for reading books doing puzzles or anything like that my job when I worked was very active and long hours and when it comes to a abrupt holt it’s hard to accept but time heels as they say nice to hear from you and your slowly on the mend take care rog and looking forward to your next ramble bye for now
Thanks Nicholas. Yes, I like to keep busy and can soon get bored doing nothing. I've actually started doing some model making for a change and find that quite good. Not the same as being out in the workshop with spanners and machines but does keep the brain and fingers busy. I think there's possibly two more rambles to come so watch out for notifications. Cheers Rog
Glad things are moving on it maybe slow but fingers crossed. Atleast you’re still tinkering with the spanners shame it’s on your leg lol. I’ll pop around for a brew soon
Thanks Andrew thanks for watching. Actually, adjusting the frame isn't painful at all but over a period of days, it introduces one or two new aches or twinges as the leg settles into its new position, however small. Still, no pain no gain as they say. Cheers Rog
Thanks for the update. Good to see you are in good spirits, it would be easy to be so down about the situation. Great to see you are becoming more mobile & bone growth seems to happening. Adjusting the leg frame , it’s just like doing some maintenance on the bike, lol. Fingers crossed the medical reviews continue to be positive. Take care, Martin.
Thanks for the kind comments Martin. It's great to be doing a bit of spanner work for a change but it does seem a bit strange when it's altering the length of my own leg 🤣🤣 Cheers Rog
Thanks for watching and for the comments. I thought a more practical explanation of what I was up to would appeal to the mechanically minded viewer 🤣🤣🤣. Cheers Rog
Thanks Alex, I figure I can't change what has happened but I can influence how thinks progress. Thinking positively and not being depressed will get me through this much better. Cheers Rog
Hello Rog and so good to see you up walking and to have such a detailed update - fine adjustments indeed. My very best wishes for your continued improvement. Peter
Wow, good luck to you Sir. I have just compleated a three level spinal fusion its has been 7 days and I can not tell if things are getting better or not. We are about the same age I think. All I want is to get back to my motor cycle restoration.
Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. Hope your recovering from your surgery but these things take time so we just have to be patient. Anyway, best of luck with it. Like you, I can't wait to get back out in the workshop and on the bikes but it will be a while yet. Cheers Rog
Hi Rog, unless you're holding back info, it certainly seems as though everything is progressing in the right direction..., and that is always good news. Don't know when you were at the caravan, but this past week, we've had similar temps, which I too don't like. Around 22° tops, is enough for me, they say that heat adversity is a sign of getting old..., cheeky lot, i've only just turned 70! After seeingn you working the nuts and bolts here, I don't think i'll ever look at a 10er spanner in the same way again. Oh well, heres wishing ya a ton of patience, and rapid progress. Take care S.
No, not holding anything back Steve. This issue with the lower break needing a bit of persuasion is really the first set back I've had and hopefully this adjustment will get things back on track. I filmed it on Saturday 20th but its been getting cooler since then. I would have preferred imperial size fittings and spanners but then I was brought up with feet and inches 🤣🤣🤣 Cheers Rog
Mend up soon. I'm new to your channel, so I'll be threading through your earlier and current videos. These are great videos. I'm here via a mention on Peter's channel, LanesExplorer. Tim
@@georgearcher5696thanks for watching. Service details and charges are all on the CCM website. I don't think they do home services anymore but now have a dealer network or you can take your bike to their factory.
Thanks Rog, another fascinating ride through Olde England. Well done rescuing the footage too, after what you've been through it would be easy to overlook it! All the best with your recovery, Mick
@@ralfhoffmann2487 Quite an impressive bit of ironwork isn't it Ralph 🤣🤣. Recovery is progressing slow but sure. Thanks for watching and for the comment. Cheers Rog
A great ride around & some history to go with it. I keep meaning to visit Julian’s Bower, but haven’t got around to it yet. You may or may not not know, in Burton, if you take the left by the Sheffield arms, it takes you down to a pub on the banks of the Trent. Looking forward to part 2. Hope the leg is healing nicely.
Glad you enjoyed it Martin and thanks for the info. Its an area I don't really know so must go and investigate further when I'm back on two wheels. Leg progressing slow but sure. Cheers Rog
Just Found this video by accident and just wanted to say,i love the information you provided and I will follow your channel with interest, keep up the great content Roger.👍 Steve 🏍️💨
