Always riding, always looking for my next ride... Just an average rider having a blast, just riding to ride. I talk about my bikes, and anything pops in my head. I'm just having fun on youtube.
May I ask what exhaust that is? Leovince slipon or complete exhaust? EDIT: Oh and whats the background for those "fuzzy things" around the brakefuild container? Just cosmetic?
@@Yo-Ken so you mean 2018 to 2023 any years header will work and not have to be only 2021 year's , coz you showed 2021, so i was looking for 2021 headers. Thank you, really appreciate it.. Do you find any performance improvement ? noticable ?
@michaelkopec.5814 Yes, those years will work. I just happened to get a 21. Performance wise it would be hard to tell as I changed the exhaust with only a few hundred miles on the bike.
I LOVE my Striple thus far. Best bike I’ve ever owned. Have you heard anything about tunes for a full system? What system would you recommend? How do you like the Leo Vince?
@ZabDevin Still no tune available in the US. Very happy with Leo Vince, perfect balance of sound quiet while cruising, but open the throttle and it sound's nasty.
I think I have found your next bike… Kawasaki Ninja 1000sx… In case youre still looking which you should buy next😂😂😂 105F steady for two months now impossible to ride or film😥 Good to see 🫵 again buddy👍👍
I have had a kz440 for a while and its got 6 gears. Wonder why the 650 doesn't. Also I put a smaller rear sprocket on mine and lowered the highway cruising rpm drastically.
Great ride! It’s so worthwhile to protect one of these old gems. Really good modifications. Ride it at least monthly to keep ethanol from locking up the carbs.
ahhh 2 things...torque on it is important and also if you by ANY ANY way bump the engine while the tensioner is out it a valve timing reset which is a TOTAL pain.
Sold the 2008 FZ1, Its a Puig, but you have to modify the support brackets for it to fit if you a have FZ1 naked conversion. The screens are for FZ1's that came originally with no fairing.
I want to tune the 24 Triple so bad! The bike feels like it runs SO lean with a slip on, I have the Racefit. I lost low-end torque and it sucks. What is the deal with this ECU encryption and why is it so hard to "crack"? It's very confusing to me. My local dyno tuner said there is no option until software support becomes available and nobody knows when that'll be. Just weird to not have a more definite timeline for something like this since these bikes have been around for years and years.
I'm with you bud. Makes no sense, the bike is out for over a year. The ECU has been cracked in the UK, but who knows when it will happen here. I use DNK tune, they said they would contact me as soon as its cracked.
With regards the stalling, ask your dealer if there is anti stall mapping, due to euro 4/5 manufacturers of cars program the cars to cut fuel completely while slowing down and anti stall mapping should prevent the engine from stalling once it reaches idle speed. Could it be the same on ride by wire bikes? I have Suzuki gsx8s and it seems to have anti stall.
Have a 675r..but are looking at getting a 2014 fireblade as a stable mate...I've toured Scotland on the triple with no comfort issues and it's also a fantastic Sunday blaster...but I've never had a sports bike and I'm a fit 55yr old so need to scratch the itch before I start to creak😂
Everything about the bike is so good that the screen is not a problem to me. I didn't buy the bike to look at the screen but how it performs. This bike is without doubt the king of the middle naked class bikes. For the handles, there are weights that remove the vibration in the handles from evotech. Highly recommend!
5:00 the Striple sounds fine... BUT that Aprilia sounds NASTY! Love it! EDIT: Yeah well the neck! I had a SPEED TRIPLE 1200 RR for 3 days when my RS was in maintenance and I can say for myself now: Feels absolutely absurd blasting down the Autobahn at around 110 - 150mph with a beast like the Speed RR but once you get to city traffic it´ll get "exhausting". Once I got my RS back the moment I sat on it I was like "how straight up can one sit?" but 30 seconds in I instnatly felt "athome" on my RS. I absolutely love the cosmic bee
I was on the fence for the RR, but the bars are just to low for long rides. The Triple is much fun, along with comfort. The RSV4 has a sound all its own... so sweet!
Your buddies blue bike is sexy! He must be cool too. Glad you made it out to the Dem 2s bike night. It’s at a different location around Raleigh NC every week. I counted 155 bikes that night.

Great video. Thanks for the fun ride. Let's meet up soon after we get back from the July events. Looking forward to a ride on the diamondback. You'll love it.
@Yo-Ken Tried seeing if you had an email, sadly there is no way to private message on this, but just a FYI, you may have left something in the video you didn't intend too around the 2min mark
I have a 2024 street triple the noise from the front is probably the floating front disk moving , I took mine back to triumph and was told this is normal .
The stalling could indeed be a fueling issue, haven't had it on my Triumph yet (I do still run the stock exhaust). Had the same or very similar issue on my old Z1000 though under emergency breaking with the clutch pulled in. What worked there was: try to make sure your engine is in overrun before pulling in the clutch. The click could in fact just be the brake pads slightly moving forward in your callipers. You can try to force replicate it by: - rolling your bike backward and gently squeeze your front brake a couple of times while doing so - release your front brake before coming to a stand still and make sure not to touch your front brake after that - gently drive forward, pull in the clutch (just to lower engine noice) and squeeze your front brake - if you hear the "click" at this point or at the moment you start driving forward, it is normal, it is a little bit of play that brake pads always have. Sometimes you can hear them settle, sometimes you can't. I've been less lucky so far with my street triple. It started leaking oil out the top of the engine after 6500 km. At first it just seemed to be the valve lid gasket that was faulty, but after changing it, the bike kept on leaking oil. It now seems we have to replace the entire cylinder head of the engine. Bike has been at the dealer for 2 weeks and no forecast on when it will be fixed :(
Thanks for the tips, I figured out my brake issue and the stalling is a lean condition. I also know how not to induce it, or should I say prevent it.. Bummer about your oil leak. This is my 3rd Triumph, they have been very reliable.
I've had the stalling issue on my 2024, but they updated the firmware at my first service, and it went away. I dont have an aftermarket exhaust. I'll add one when there are more options and tune for the exhaust. Everything else works very well. Im still under 2K miles. Hopefully, everything stays good. You should probably bring yours to a good mechanic to check out the bike, and a shop that's good with suspension to check that's good. If the brakes are making noise, its not a great idea to keep riding until you know they are not about to have some catastrophic failure.
I figured out the brake noise, its all good. When the bike had a stock exhaust there was no issue. Its a lean condition. I do my own service, There is no dealer in my area I trust. I always figure issues out on my own. Knowing how to fix your own bike most important to me. There is nothing I am afraid to do on a bike mechanically.
@Yo-Ken I don't doubt your ability to work on your bike. I do most of the work on mine. But, I know there's limitations in my ability to diagnose some things. It's worth it to have someone more qualified than ourselves to give a thumbs up or down. My suspension wasn't dialed into really any of the settings, even though it was supposed to be set for Road setup in the owners manual. I was able to take care of that. After 2000 miles, I'm taking mine to one of the shops that are known for their expert suspension setups. They'll get it dialed in correctly outside of Triumphs recommended settings, which are very generalized. For example, there is definitely not enough sag when I sit on the bike. Even though I've been reading the Suspension Bible, I still want to see the pros dial it in. To throw my issues in the ring about the Triple is there is a lot of wind noise that comes up from below into the helmet. My HD Softail Springer, hardly any wind noise, all exhaust noise into the helmet. The triple, I definitely need earplugs for long rides.
Ken - I have the OBD Link app but I don’t see an option to remove the service wrench. Can you tell me the app you used and what setting it is under? I also done see a Tune ECU separate app.
@@Yo-Ken thanks Ken. Downloaded the app and have it now. Wonder if since I bought a used S7 if it will work fine. Also did you have to register the license?
Removing the pillion + rear rails + adding teardrop mirrors = good! Everything else I am not sure since Triumph perfected the old iconic classic design into everything on this Speedmaster a masterpiece! .. it's just me and my opinion :)
I had the same issue you mentioned, the bike would just die when I pull the clutch in at speed. I also have issue with cold start, it won’t start after I tried five times.
G'day Ken. Its been a while brother, but medical issues have been kinda f*cking me up somewhat. Hey, it is what it is right? Such is life. Great bike meet-up, like walking through a lolly shop, too many good ones to choose from!.What better way to spend an evening. Friends, bikes and hopefully coffee. LOL. Really good to be back along for the ride, and the conversation brother. My eyes are not that sharp anymore so night riding, for me, is pretty well a thing of the past now. Sucks getting old as body parts tend to break down, but as long as there's daylight, I'll still ride. Speaking of which, I now ride a '23 Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. Talk about an old fart's bike! With a strong tailwind, and going downhill, it can actually hit 60mph! 🤣I still check out good, fast looking bikes, picture myself on one and then say to myself, " Wake up dopey, too bloody broken now"! But you gotta laugh at life, because if you can still ride, you are are still living the life. Great video as usual brother, time to catch up with some of your previous ones. Stay safe, stay loose brother. 👍👍
Have a White 2024 street triple r with about 1200-1300 miles on it. The bike has never died for me when slowing down clutch in or out so I would definitely get that checked out. Maybe try downshifting clutch out with the quick shifter a little more? (Doubt that would fix it) If you have a warranty and take it to the dealer, see if that will cover it because I'm curious since I have a 3 year engine/transmission warranty package with it. As for the breaks initially making a weird clicking sound when first pulling in the lever I also have that but I'm not concerned about that as it's only when the bike has been sitting for a while and it's the first break pull in. My Royal Enfield Meteor and Ducati 2015 Ducati Diavel make a similar clicking sound for the first break lever pull. Not sure if that's the issue you are having but that is what it sounds like. Edit: After reading the other guys comment about the aftermarket exhaust and there not being a tune, I do agree with him that might be the issue as I do know normally if you do a FULL SYSTEM exhaust, (not a slip on) that usually requires an ECU tune. My bike is mostly stock and has no aftermarket exhaust so that could explain why I never had that stalling/fueling issue.
i’ve got a speed triple 1200 was planning keeping it until i heard about the reliability issues, planning on getting rid in a year and a half and switching to something more reliable!
Hey again Ken! Does James not like having any flesh on his arms, chest & back? I only ask as he won’t have any left if he comes off. I’m an ex-Cop and have seen plenty of gruesome injuries and deaths, through not wearing protective clothing… 🙄 Cheers Mark 🇬🇧
I have ‘23 ST. No problem with the engine cutting out, had my quick shifter changed due to voltage drop on the downshift (looks like a common problem- which is recognised by Triumph). I wonder if the perceived “play” in your steering is down to movement of brake pads in the calliper? I can see a slight movement between the calliper and disc if I apply the front brake and pull/push the bike. I had exactly the same on a ‘99 Fireblade. Sounds like a knock, which it is but nothing to worry about. BW😊
