I make videos about tech gear. Whether it's telling you what I think of the latest tech products, or showing you how to get more out of the gear that you already own, you'll hopefully find something here to make you want to stick around! I’ve started using the Reminders app more after your videos on using the app. However, one thing really frustrates me - I cannot get the custom location feature to work. The button appears to be greyed out yet pressing on it gives you a dialogue box with a list of locations had a search box with a map dialogue underneath. However, there is no way to drag the pin to a custom location and choosing a pin location from the list doesn’t change anything when you go back to the reminder. It remains on any previously selected non-pin location. Is this a bug or is it me? :-) How I would like it to work is to be able to choose one of the locations from the list or drag the pin somewhere on the map and use that location for when I arrive or leave it, Thoughts?
...or you can just buy an Amazon fire stick for a fraction of the price...half the video is about Siri, imho I don't see the added value honestly. But Apple fans always find a way to justify extrmely high prices.
If you have a wired-only CarPlay connection (like I did) there are some great wireless converters now, for around £50-60. This has been a game changer for me. Mine is left plugged in all the time, so when I get in my car it's ready to go without opening the centre console and messing around with cables. Clearly, if your car has wireless CarPlay already you know this, but if you don't, it's one of the best aftermarket upgrades I've ever done on a car. Please note - your car needs wired CarPlay for these to work. Well worth it IMHO!
Def need a persistent reminder on that does not go away on the screen or stays in the notifications or it will continue to alert you every 5 minutes like snooze almost.
Recently switched back to safari after using chrome for years. One thing I missed the most was using command + 1-9 to open bookmarks. So command+1 will open the first bookmark in my favorites. You do need to disable "Use command-1 through command-9 to switch tabs" to use this
Battery their battery capacity is a lie... Your phone were probably just dropped after the first 100% till maybe like a week before dropping at 99% and then after the trip you noticed the 98% It sits at 100 and at 90 for longer (and probably also at 80% and that's even worse) Here's the data i collected From oct 8 2021 to feb 28 2022 it depleted around 1% in around 4 months (from 100% to 99%) From feb 28 2022 to jun 28 2022 it depleted around 9% in around 4 months (from 99% to 90%) From june 28 2022 to jan 31 2023 it depleted around 0% in around 7 months (from 90% to 90%) (it was also over summer so hotter so the battery should have depleted faster) From jan 31 2023 to aug 3 2023 it depleted around 3% in around 6 months (from 90% to 87%) (it was also over summer so hotter so the battery should have depleted faster) 2021 8oct 100% 2022 28 feb 99% 11 Mar 97% 18 Mar 96% 9 April 96% 14 April 95% 13 May 95% 16 May 94% 21 May 93% 23 May 92% 25 May 92% 26 May 91% 28 june 90% 2023 1 jan 90% 31 jan 90% 24 Feb 89% 24 April 89% 25 may 87% 3 august 87% Then I changed my battery
Hi thanks this is very informative esp since I moved recently to iPhone after having used Android for years One question how can I add spotlight widget on my today’s or the widget screen ?
I’m very confused to why you think this is so much better than a normal streaming box. I have two Apple TVs, and to be honest they are completely unused, but Apple won’t part exchange them.
My guesting is how can I listen to my ear pods and my android while my husband listens to music n car radio. Car is connected to blue tooth and everytlme i try to listen to my iPad it comes thru car speakers instead of radio. How can I get Bluetooth so he can still hear his music. I turned wifi reconnect off for car, but it just keeps reconnecting reconnect
I downloaded super Mario AND Tetris. It is safe to say I had always been addicted to Tetris. Idk if you helped me or sabotaged me but idc rn THANK YOU SO MUCH
Every now and again my Apple TV remote acts squirrely, usually by refusing to let the volume buttons work at all. I recently discovered that you can reset the Apple TV controller by holding the TV/Control Center button and the down volume button simultaneously. You have to keep them held down for 10-15 seconds, then a little popup pane will appear on the TV screen saying "Apple TV remote disconnected." After another few seconds another popup will say "Apple TV remote connected." That usually fixes any problems.
Ingenious as usual. I haven't got the three-fingered copy function to work on my 15 Pro Max, but I'm sure that, with a little practice, I can get it to work. I use many languages, but iPhone seems to be quite clever - if I get a message in Norwegian, iPhone seems to think I would appreciate it if it were setup to answer in Norwegian, and it has understood that I would like to do just that. The Italian keyboard will patiently allow me to add some words or phrases in English without protesting and vice versa. iPhone must have decided that I am a native-expat who came to live in Italy which is the case. Your suggestion to hold down a key (full stop, currency sign, etc) has opened up enormous possibilities for me Many thanks.
Also, watching windows side by side cast a shadow onto the other. You can't disable shadows created by windows and even items like the menu bar cast shadows on the desktop. This makes it a little annoying to multitask if you are looking at content on multiple windows at the same time or reviewing things back and forth between two windows. A window underneath the current window or to the side of the current window appears darker than the other windows that are up front and makes them harder to see.
I’ve been using Apple TVs for well over a decade now, and honestly it blows every other streaming box out of the water. Every time I use a Roku, fire tv, or native smart tv OS they are laggy, poor UI/UX design, and shove ads down your throat.
I actually feel that the iPad is the best thing Apple has created. I can leave their phone or MacBook but there isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t use my iPad. I have now updated my iPad Pro after 6 years.
Do you remember magnifier while editing screenshots and photos? Its gone with iOS 17 But now much better alternative app is available name : Photo editor with magnifier. I think you should try and cover that in your upcoming videos
