TIP; Burst mode, when I know an event is going to happen at a particular location, like a bird leaving a perch, or a lightning strike, I take a burst mode photo and just hold the volume up button until the event happens, then release. When I go to select the photo I want, I know it will be toward the end of the series. The phone will take up to 999 photos before stopping. I simply start another burst until I get what I want. The unneeded photos are easy to delete. This is actually easier to do on the phone than it is on an expensive camera.
@@HVAC_Tips_Tricks_Calcs um. Yes & No. it just depends which would be set at the highest resolution with the best settings. Yes capturing “STILLS” (photos) from Videos is very convenient and good AS LONG AS, the video is as great quality as it can be. 4k 60fps type stufff.
What about using live view photos… as it takes a photo about a second before and after you hit the shutter button you can choose your image and not take hundreds of photos
Normally I just figure things out, but this video was excellent! I use to think the Live mode was the most annoying and useless thing about the camera, and had no idea you could use it in the way you described. Portrait mode was another one I rarely use, until now, that is! Thank you very much for this, it was quite informative!!
This is the best iPhone related channel out there, it oozes professionalism. The videos are slick and the information is rich, clear and concise unlike many other Apple related channels.
Great video, for those of you not doing beta, 18.2 has many of these features more easily accessible as far as adjustments go. I would still follow the advice given in the general camera settings as suggested. I follow these rules with only one exception. Also the 18.2 beta has a (very) light version if you will of something like Lightroom that I find very useful and while some corrections can be made on the phone it is obviously easier to edit on a Mac.
Thank you, again! I am an amateur photographer and have three DSLR cameras. However, I had no idea of the features of the "camera I always have with me." Looking forward to trying some of these out soon.
For a while you used to put the steps you took off to the left in their own box. That was helpful for people like me who need a few seconds to process what you are telling us to do. Did people object to that or did you stop because it was not worth the effort? I just wanted to add my two cents that it was very helpful. This was absolutely one of your best videos. 100% useful information. Thank you so very much. And congratulations on the twins.
Excellent Being an avid DSLR photographer I've only looked at my iPhone as a point and shoot. Wow. talk about having one's eyes opened up. Excellent presentation with clear and helpful explanations. Awesome job. Thanks so much
A really nice presentation, as always. While I will not remember all the things you've taught, what you've done is expose me to all these ideas and given great clues about where to find them and even find more features. Thanks for what you do. This old COBOL programmer really appreciates it.
Tip from another COBOL programmer: carry a notebook with you. Take a foto, write down your settings, take another with different settings, and repeat as desired. Then later when you review your fotos, you see what settings worked best for you.
Thanks for the great tips. You obviously have some photography experience as well. I would also mention that the timer is useful for jumping into the picture yourself if your phone is supported. Set the timer for 10 seconds and away you go! Thanks for all you do. i learn so much fro0m your videos!
Best camera review for the iPhone on RU-vid. Have watched a lot but this is so straight forward, clear to follow and with explanations to either turns things on or off depending on my preference not on what someone else think’s I should have.
Great tutorial, very clear and easy to understand. One tip my son taught me- when doing a selfie set timer for 3 seconds then use it, then you don't worry about your finger on the button making it shake.👍
Great informative video as usual. Very professionally and logically presented!. Although I’m quite familiar with using iPhones and iPhone photography, I still learn and enjoy it. Thank you!
Thanks so much. I have been using an iPhone since #5. But I have never 😭 thought of turning the phone upside down or sideways. Wow what an eye opener and game changer that is. ❤
THANK YOU. I’ve needed a video like this so much. I knew my iPhone could take awesome pictures, but everyone wanted me to pay for a course. I’m going out of the country soon and this will allow me to take much better pictures.
I have a OnePlus Open, but watching these videos gives me ideas to look for in my own phone. Like there's already a choice of panoramic direction right in the camera frame at the start... But your video actually pointed that option out to me as I never think to use pano for tall shots like that. I normally first think of sideways wide angle. In past phones I always had problems trying to figure out how to do long exposure so I forgot about even thinking about doing it and it actually has a long exposure dedicated selection. I've often enjoyed shooting in Pro Raw but you helped explain what the HEIF setting on my phone really means. Grid and level is always my default. I too have learned the rule of thirds. Night Mode isn't bad but I do have a tendency to try opening up the shutter for more light. The most fun I have is shooting the moon... It's so awesome on the Open. That's when the Hasselblad lens goes to 120x digital zoom. Older phones I've had (like the LGV60) replaced burst photo with Live photo. I'm glad it's back because I'm not a fan of Live Photo. Lock in exposure is a good practice but I also like when my phone has FOCUS PEAKING for Pro mode. I'm surprised you didn't mention that. Doesn't the iPhone have that? You went over Portrait Mode but not macro photography. Why's that? Thanks for helping my understand f stop as I'm truly an amateur photographer trying to learn the jargon and understand the features. I think you'd get more views and subscribers if you stopped gearing these videos for iPhone people only. I want you to use me as proof that you could just do cellphone tips and not alienate the other 78% of the global smartphone market share that uses Android. Just talk about the features and maybe explain that "these features may be really available to all smartphone camera apps or just download s third party pro app,"
Thank you so much for the super video! Your instructions were easy and clear - and I’m thrilled to find out what my 15 Pro Max can do now! Going away on holiday shortly,so have saved your tutorial to refresh my memory so I can take awesome shots for my travel journal. Much appreciated!
Thanks, just learning how to uses my I-phone 12 max phone. I loved the video . I have had my phone for 4 years and never realize I could do so much more with it.
This video tutorial was Especially good! Thank you for the time you invested! As an iPhone owner since the first one…I still picked up some great tips here!
Hey- the BURST setting (when taking the photo in regular photo mode), sliding over to left just drags a red dot a few MM to the left and is recording video! For now at least, I'll use the volume up button for burst photos. (probably a setting I'm missing). THANK YOU for your great work on this channel.
I am so very happy your video came up today, WOW!! I never knew my iPhone 14 could do all this. I love taking photos and manipulating them afterwards as needs be (cropping, adjusting light, nothing earth-shattering LOL) but I learned SO much from you today! I cannot thank you enough. I have subscribed and look forward to watching all of your videos. 🤗👏❤️🇨🇦
Great tips! Got my 15promax a week ago, still learning, but really happy. I do use RAW 12MP quite a lot since I am into LR anyway having astrophotography as a hobby for some years. The night foto capabilities are really impressive, especially using it with my little 12 SFr. tripod!
Really nice video. I knew some stuff but f.i. the Portrait mode editing is brilliant. Thank you for pointing it out to me. Love these short but very informative videos.
I have yet to try the long exposure feature and see how that compares to an actual long exposure shot made with a dedicated camera. And why did that last dog look stunned? 😂
Do you have a video or suggestions on how to organize photos on the iPhone and computer? Folders? Smart folders ? Sharing among devices and apps like google photos?
Excellent tutorial! Captured everything (no pun intended). But I think for the Portrait mode, you don’t get the ProRaw data capture. Still a neat feature . Thanks!
