I was diagnosed. Less then a year ago.its crippling .it hit out of no where. I have an extreme case where I have "drop" episodes and extreme panic attacks. I'm getting ready for hearings aids now that my hearing is almost non-existent I. Everyone has a different experience but this is mine

I had a stroke in 2017 and I have reason to believe a type a tympanogram was done five days after my stroke. My question is - would I need to have been aware and responsive for this test to have been done? My visitors tell me I was heavily sedated and unresponsive at the time. Just gathering information to try to convince my GP to get my hearing tested.

I would like to find an affordable omni directional for my oticon hearing aids. Something I could put in middle of dining table that would allow me to hear from all.

Correction at 2:32 - 3:00 in the video. You have the chemical composition of endolymph and perilymph backwards. Endolymph contains high concentrations of Potasium and low concentrations of Sodium. Perilymph contains high Sodium and low Potassium concentrations. This is important because the high Potassium levels in the endolymph allow Potassium ions to enter the hair cells and causes depolarization. This depolarization action opens calcium channels, which in turn causes neurotransmission of the signal along the nerve fibers. High potassium in the endolymph is critical in the process of getting the sound signal to the brain. You can find out more info by a doing a Google search asking "What is the chemical composition of endolymph?" Great video with that one small correction.

This is my own experience and not what I was foretold, my Meniere disease was very complicated with high pitch ear ringing, Dizziness and Imbalance but I was able to conquer this disease with a medicine from Dr Madida Sam on RU-vid for only 4 weeks of using their treatment...I recommend this herbal center///

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:21 🧠 *The acoustic reflex test is part of tympanometry, evaluating the auditory pathway from outer ear to brainstem.* 02:44 🎤 *Acoustic reflexes exist to diminish the loudness of our own voices while speaking, aiding in better hearing of surrounding sounds.* 05:27 📉 *Acoustic reflexes are tested after determining the air pressure at which the middle ear is most efficient, with a reduction in compliance indicating reflex activation.* 06:17 🔊 *Contralateral and ipsilateral acoustic reflexes are measured, respectively involving sound input to opposite and same ears.* 09:29 🦻 *Normal hearing individuals should exhibit acoustic reflexes at around 85 to 100 dB HL, absent in conductive hearing loss and severely impaired in eighth nerve tumors.* Made with HARPA AI

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:22 🎯 *Tympanometry complements the audiogram by assessing middle ear function, especially in cases of conductive hearing loss.* 01:31 🔍 *Tympanometry is a non-behavioral, quick test often used in pediatric care to assess middle ear function and detect issues like otitis media.* 02:21 🔄 *Tympanometry measures middle ear efficiency by analyzing sound transmission through the eardrum at different air pressures.* 04:07 📊 *Tympanometry results are represented graphically (tympanogram), with variations indicating different middle ear conditions.* 07:20 💧 *Different tympanogram types (A, B, C) correspond to various middle ear conditions, such as normal, otitis media, and fluid-filled middle ear.* 09:35 🦴 *Tympanometry can also aid in diagnosing otosclerosis, where abnormal bone growth stiffens the middle ear, affecting compliance.* Made with HARPA AI

I am a veteran and have been involved in sound production, studio recording and sound system design and installation since in my teens. Am now 77 yrs and have tinnitus in both ears and hearing loss above 7khZ. I am going for a hearing test next month at the VA audiology dept. I also have, at home, an elaborate home theater system with 11 speakers and Dolby Atmos surround. Should I be considering an omnidirectional aid or are there units that can switch pickup direction patterns for different circumstances and conditions?? And, if so, can these be controlled from an app? Thank you
