The real symptoms of Meniere's: 1) Vertigo, often severe 2) Varying hearing loss (worse when symptoms are worse, better when symptoms are better) 3) Tinnitus, often with fullness feeling in ear, especially prior to attacks 4) Nausea followed by vomiting, during an attack 5) Fatigue 6) Brain fog 7) Neck/head tension on affected side 8) Balance problems, sometimes with drop attacks 9) Cold feeling & cold sweats 10) Erratic eye movements, usually during attacks 11) Often a numbness feeling in hands, feet, face

Correction at 2:32 - 3:00 in the video. You have the chemical composition of endolymph and perilymph backwards. Endolymph contains high concentrations of Potasium and low concentrations of Sodium. Perilymph contains high Sodium and low Potassium concentrations. This is important because the high Potassium levels in the endolymph allow Potassium ions to enter the hair cells and causes depolarization. This depolarization action opens calcium channels, which in turn causes neurotransmission of the signal along the nerve fibers. High potassium in the endolymph is critical in the process of getting the sound signal to the brain. You can find out more info by a doing a Google search asking "What is the chemical composition of endolymph?" Great video with that one small correction.

My mother had it in both ears nearly fifty years ago now. She was grateful when it finally sent her deaf and the other symptoms finally went away. I remember she once had an attack of dizziness when she was driving home from work and I have no idea how she made it home.

This is the best explanation of Meniere's I've seen on RU-vid. One question though, if endolymph is high potassium and low sodium, then why are Meniere's patients instructed to cut down on sodium rather than potassium?

We get too many patients that are diagnosed with Meniere's when they don't have the symptoms.

Have you looked into upper cervical care? It helped me immensely they take X-rays and see if the C1 atlas bone in your neck is out of position and interfering with the brain stem. Then they do gentle corrections to fix the problem.

Every few years I'll get a sudden feeling of "approach", then moments later one ear will start ringing louder and louder, growing steadily, my sense of balance shifting and even skewing my vision, and then it fades a few seconds later, back to normal. I never saw it as a big deal, just a curiosity, could this be related to it in some way?

Not sure if I am asking the correct ? Most ringing in the ears happens around or between 7000 to 9500 Hz. And if I read... Or heard ? Correctly. Low end is ? Where we should have our hearing loss ? Because my hearing loss is in the high pitch area. And WOW do I spin........... Go deaf......... Sometimes it changes. Deaf 1st... Spinning 2nd...
