Love my d23, getting a lift kit done in a week already got a custom tune done with very little smoke to do 0-100km/h in 6 sec flat stock turbo, it's all I need
Really cool setup. Thinking of borrowing a few of the ideas for my own build. Do you run a drawer fridge in the opening on left or fit a fridge elsewhere?
How much did it cost to gain 0.71 seconds of acceleration? Genuinely curious. Because a 0-100kph of 5.75 secs is impressive. I’m going to have to get my FG F6 out and time it now. As it’s probably one of the last remaining Stock Standard FPVs with under 100,000kms on the clock left in the wild, lol.
Regarding the fuel filter....before you START the engine, put the ignition to ON or ACC and leave for at least 15secs...preferably a minute, so the lines and filter can prime. Risk of damaging the fuel pump otherwise.....(as stated in video)
@@AdamDitheridge yep that’s right mate, proper printing of the fuel filter is essential. I think some models may come with hand primers in the engine bay too
I'm from perth too LOL But yeah Im looking at the MR triton or the D23 NP300 navara 2018 onwards. How do you think these two Compare in performance and reliability?
Awesome vid mate! Have just found your channel after researching GU patrols. Would love some advice on what to look out for on the ZD30? I’m looking around 2012 under 150km’s.
Hey mate! I reckon a good service history is ideal. If these are serviced regularly then they can be very reliable. It’s probably going to have oil leaks, but I would mostly be looking for significant leaks around the turbo or any coolant leaks. Would also check that it’s not been overheating (drive it around and see if the temp gauge moves much from the middle) 🤙
hey mate, bit late to the vid but still watched it all. I'm a 16 year old kid with a passion for 4x4 and camping. I'm looking at buying a 4wd that I'm 99.9% sure will have enough space for me and my missus but I'm 6'4 and was wondering what mattress you used? do you reckon a swag mattress would work or no? thanks heaps for the idea bro, saved the vid to come back to watch later ❤❤
Hey mate, sounds awesome! Yeah I’m just under that height myself but I manage to sleep fine in the car which is good! I’ve got a double mattress from Clark Rubber that does a great job 🤙
Thanks for sharing the video. I am looking at doing something similar, but just for one side of the car so our kid can sleep there while we are up in the roof top tent. How did you support the plywood that flips over the seats (I know from my GU that in general the seats are slightly lower when folded than the height of the drawers I've got installed.
Hey mate! That sounds like a good setup. The board that flips on the hinge is just the right size to sit flush with the seats, no additional support required 🤙
While you’re mainly talking EGTs here, a tip I’ve discovered that could reduce engine coolant temps with the patrol is through blocking off the heater lines. The heater core is actually a constant flow-through design; there’s no valve like cruisers have. Heater control just regulates air flow across the heater. Therefore coolant is always circulating thru the core. Based on hose size, I estimate at least 20% of the water pumps flow capacity is used in recirculating the coolant for the heater. I installed a vacuum actuated tap in my heater line which blocks it when i don’t need heater which then diverts 100% of my water pump flow capacity thru the radiator for cooling. This dropped my max temp going up the same highway from 98 deg C to 84 deg C. I didn’t actually do this mod to lower coolant temps. I accidentally discovered this as a result of an engine conversion and the way i plumbed the heater lines resulted in coolant bypassing the thermostat.
