great presentation... I am actually in the middle of reading "Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?" right now. As well as "A COUNTRY OF STRANGERS". Both great books so far.
I just wanted to say thank you for this. I was one of those kids the teachers never understood, and honestly they were hostile because I was reading at a second year college level in 5th grade. I wasn't "normal", ergo I was "wrong". Differently abled doesn't mean unteachable, but it sure does put adults on the defensive if there is even a hint you might be as smart as they are. To this day, I have to pretend to be normal or I'll never achieve my dream of being a teacher. Weird people don't get jobs.
As a special education high school para and college student, she is correct when it is frustrating that I have to take so many elementary classes, when I will be teaching high school special education.
An extremely detailed, honest and in my opinion correct interpretation of the behaviour that can be found in FASD. Good video! This video should be definitely compulsory to watch for health "professionals" to recognize the characteristic features in FASD. It could avoid a lot of traumatization probably...
This is perfect! You explained everything I was looking for. This will help the children in my care regulate their emotions, but more importantly the parents, my family members, and even myself. I will share this video and make it part of my enrollment package. This was right on time! Thank you!
I attend CSUN in 1998-2000 and did some fieldwork in the CHIME school at that time. welcome to northern CA. i have finally found an inclusive classroom since the past 4years
