Sadly being a raider at the start of fallout 4 wouldn't work because you we're a goodie 2shoes with a whole wife and kid and role play was thrown out the window
22:56 You will always have people of low intellect that can't wrap their head around it, when something is a bad design. It is the same with contracts that have nasty stuff in the small print, yes you can argue that EVERYTHING is written down, they don't hide anything. But I would argue, that if your contract has countless points and in addition expects you to go to their web site to check something like the rules on which they allow you to CANCEL a SUBSCRIPTION... IS SHADY. Therefore a game that has flaws like not being able to change the keys on a keyboard is quite trash.
I loved morrowwind and skyrim so i bought fallout 4 as i have never played a fallout game but i got so bored of it my first experience with fallout was yawning half the time i believe there are only 3 developers in the gaming industry who make interesting games - rockstar, fromsoftware and ryu ga gotoku
I had issues with the Patfinder being a very young person being in charge. I was in the Navy for 6 years and having a 19 year old drop out as my Captain would not fly for me.
Hey man Frankie inspire you to quit your channel too?! Cmon man it’s not to late come back and make more videos you got something Going for you it isn’t time to stop it’s time to keep going!
I'm a huge fan of Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 3, with over 1,000 hours in each of them. Fallout 4, which I was greatly looking forward to, was such a huge disappointment. Everything is wrong about this game. The movement is jerky when compared to the other 2 games. Dialogue is slow and boring. The linear style of the game is horrible. Power armor is just a pain to use. The list goes on and on. Not to mention that they somehow made this game so that it gives 30% of the people who try to play it motion sickness ... what is up with that? (if you don't believe me, just do a google search for "fallout 4 motion sickness"). The game sucks. What Bethesda was thinking, I have no idea, as "if it ain't broken, don't try to fix it."
For some unknown reason I enjoy new Vegas more than fallout 4 but I like the power armor in fallout 4 and the guns and some new mechanics but I felt like something is lost in the game the game seems more game mechanics focused instead of rpg focused
RPG mechanics ARE game mechanics. Since the unique element with RPGs are choices and consequences, more game mechanics mean more choices for the player. Fallout 4 on the other has the vast majority of its gameplay mechanics be COMBAT, and the vast majority of that combat is only LETHAL. So conceptually, you're incorrect in your observation that Fallout 4 is "game mechanics focused." If it was, it'd offer you Stealth and Diplomacy as more mechanics to play with, and hence be more of an RPG. It doesn't.
Problem with the raider gang is the same as the minutemen. Being the leader of the minutemen you have 0 choice in what happens, and this guy is suggesting a similar, linear quest line.
I think the key differences between every fallout title since bethesda took over are pretty simple to identify: -Fallout 3 was great because it was the first fallout in a long time that at least tried to be an RPG, even if it didn't do the best job -Fallout NV was great because it was an evolution on the basic foundation 3 set out made by the original developers -Fallout 4 failed because it refused to acknowledge Obsidian's team got a lot right and instead doubled down on the elements that hamstrung Fallout 3 while diluting what made Fallout 3 unique in the first place, pissing off the people that wanted NV on a new engine and the people that wanted a deeper Fallout 3 I don't know if it was ego or incompetence, but the fact that they went on to put out a watered down fallout 3 with an awful story, more repetitive gameplay, and completely non-existent gear progression, while completely stripping the last of the RPG mechanics from it still baffles me.
I see the complaint about that intro given no choice to refuse and such but Fallout 4 has something the previous Fallouts didn't have. Mod making system. I believe Bethesda was originally going to leave it up to the community to get those desired results, however making mods with busty women so you could masturbate at your consoles was not what Bethesda intended especially the copyright violations that has plagued both Fallout 4 and Skyrim. People tend to wonder why Bethesda treats their community with such disdain. It's not like the community didn't have the tools to rewrite questlines, they did but choose to write cheats, stupid nonsense and basically the blame lays on the modders. Not saying all modders are bad, just saying a lot of waste went into the mod community. Not saying I agree with everything Bethesda does but in truth the gaming community is nothing more than whiney assholes who obsessedly complain.
Dude, I'm sorry, but that argument doesn't make any sense to me. Now I could be wrong, and forgive me if I misunderstood, but it sounds like you're saying that the reason why Fallout 4 is bad is because the community didn't do the work that the developers were supposed to do. It's not our job to make the game great, it's theirs. Bethesda are the ones who made the story so vastly inferior to their previous games. Bethesda are the ones who made the main character so bland and the factions so flawed. Sure, there are plenty of mods out there that help improve the game or even completely revamps it, but that doesn't change what Fallout 4 was at its core. If you need the community to fix your game and make it good, then I hate to break it to you, but that means you made a bad game. But again, sorry if I misunderstood your point.
@@AuraAkurie Made perfect sense. Now I am not saying you skim through comments skipping alot, however taking time to read even if it seems a wall of text can still make sense. Normally I'd have paragraphed but choose to do my best to be upfront with my thoughts. Here's something to think about. Sony who makes the PS5 has different rules for their gaming console vrs Microsofts console. For example, while Bethesda is allowed to include their modding system whether Skyrim or Fallout 4 the modding community cannot violate copyright laws by incorperating items, charecters or whatever from other games or even Anime. Also certian mods that allow full cheats or charecter models that are too revealing are also not allowed. Now mind you the PS community complains but accepts that. Microsoft has a different set of rules that basically allows and even promotes breaking laws including copyright and that is seen in either Skyrim or Fallout 4 where modders bring copyrighted material into the games such as Call of duty, Anime like Goblin Slayer, One Punch Man, over sexualied female charecters including from copyrighted content with absolutely no restrictions. Having been a part of both Play Station and Xbox communities for years the sheer amount of whining comes from the xbox community in terms of content. They strongly believe they are entitled to us content whether it violates copyright laws. While the media won't tell you this there is long standing legal lawsuits filed against Microsoft and game companies like Bethesda being waged by the Japanese government and entities over copyright infringments. Most people would not know because the media blocks any news sources or posts about it on US social media sites. Games are a huge mess today because of that mentallity believing they can do whatever and it is ruining this generations gaming genre. Kids today have no idea what a truely satisfying game is from start to finish.
Fallout 4 is a good game but it’s not a good Fallout game. Fallout at its core is meant to be at heart an RPG. Having a voiced protagonist and having your back story already picked for you before starting the game means Fallout 4 is not really an RPG it’s more of a looter shooter. Like many others I enjoyed my time with Fallout 4 but I hope we go back to silent protagonist and more of choice of who our character is in future Fallout titles.
Bethesda so obviously want the Institue to be 4's Caesar's Legion, but clearly have no idea how to do that. It's a show vs tell issue. We're TOLD the Institute is mysterious, powerful and intellectual. We're shown the exact opposite. Gen 1 and 2 Synths are everywhere, as is Nick Valentine, killing the mystery behind their existence. They aren't powerful because we cut through synths in early missions. And they aren't intellectual, because they make stupid decisions almost constantly, usually illogically. Meanwhile, We're told the Legion is brutal, efficient and murderous. Then, we're shown Nipton, confirming this. We expect Caesar himself to be brute. When we meet him, he is brutal, but also intelligent, rational, educated, subverting our expectations. He is a powerful man, yet suffers from an illness. He had layers.
that's why neil (the lead writer who also said that nate is the guy from fo1 intro) should just be kicked out, they should bring someone from the classic fallouts to replace him
the only reason why I play fo4 is because of mods, the vanilla game sucks absolute ass,rpg elements, gun play, hell even gameplay sucks because every enemie is a damn bullet sponge, uninspiring art style, weapon design (looking at you "assault rifle"),bugs,an absolute lifeless world, literally almost everything sucks 😭the only reason why i play it is because of mods, especially America rising.
Yes, and it sucks ass, I disliked it so much that I decided to put as many mods as possible to make it more like the original games, you know, the good ones.
The reason I’ll always defend 4 is because I refuse to play, like, or support and game older than it because I dislike how they look, I became a heavy gamer after fallout 4 came out and when games had good graphics, since it was the newest game I played it, and I’ve seen the older games and yeah I’d rather not play games that look like that. And hey if the others are better then good for you, I’ll leave you be I don’t have any quarrel with you
3 and NV are the best RPG games with shooter mechanics sidelined. With New Vegas those shooting mechanics can be tweaked and worked on. On 4 it's an OK shooter (by today's standards it isn't special) with RPG being sidelined... Thing is, you can't fix a game's story telling. Like you, I played 4 and enjoyed it when it first came out because I fanboyed for it. Coming back a 2nd, 3rd time I dropped it because it was just utterly boring until the 4th time (now) I'm literally forcing myself to re-play it.
The games fuckin broken not to mention the map is empty and boring there is literally no reason to visit any skyscrapers cuz nobody spawns in the map to snipe from far away it’s bland boring, the map is has soo much wasted potential just filled with emptyness
750 million in the first day. NOT A FAIL. Fallout 4 is the best Fallout game for new players, and people that prefer a more directed story rather than full on roleplay choice games. Fallout 4 is an AMAZING game, and to call it the weakest entry is like calling 76 the best game every made.
Commercial success doesn't translate to the product being good, just look at Twilight. And yeah, Fallout 76 is much worse because it deviated even more from the rpg roots without taking out the elements that clashed with the online multiplayer looter shooter they made.
"With almost 470,000 concurrent Steam players on launch day, Fallout 4 broke Grand Theft Auto V's record for having the most concurrent online players in a Steam game not developed by Valve. Bethesda shipped 12 million units to retailers within the first 24 hours, grossing $750 million." Fallout 4 has sold 13.5 milions coppies. Fallout New Vegas sold 11.6 million. Fallout 3 sold 12.4 million. There are countless youtubers still making fallout 4 series to this day. How is that a "failure"?
The fans of the first two games hate the Bethesda version of the games. And they deem the Fallout New Vegas as the superior game (Even though it isnt). They are just bitter and resentful that the new fallout no longer feels like original fallout.
FNV was just more fleshed out , providing almost any scenario for any choice you took. That of course requires massive effort on the dev side. Something devs have been slacking with in the last 20 years or so, so its not too surprising
another one of those loved it for 50 hours but then I thought its actually bad type of videos so stupid if a game is bad you would never have gotten into it in the first place
Well, that's what I hated the most about Fallout 4. It's not even about the first quest after you get out of the vault. It's starts with character creation. It is the same thing I found slightly annoying with Skyrim, but since it wasn't that strong, you could just accept it. In Fallout 4 you are forced into the role of a Father or Mother, with a child. If it really would be that and nothing else, like everyone dies at the start and you have to find your way in this new world now, than you could accept it. But you are constantly forced to stay in this role, because the main quest involves you searching for your child. This simple fact, takes every bit of roleplaying your own customized character away. You have no choice. Just to clarify what I meant with Skyrim: In Skyrim you are also forced to be the dragonborn. It's not that extreme, like having a family, but it also limits your option in creating your own character. Because whatever you do, in every new game, you will find out that you are the dragonborn and have to do the starting quests involving your training, which can take up a good amount of your time, before you can actually start with the "sandbox" experience, without running into things that you can't unlock or fully use. They gave you more freedom in Starfield, but also made it a little bit too open for some players.
