You know when something is probably too good to be true? It probably is. Any sane person can look at G2A and their prices and know something fishy is going on. Would you buy a brand new car for 10K less than listed? No, because that basically confirms it was stolen at the port.

The good message is partly wasted due to the "If you do then you are dispicable person". It is one of the worst choice of words in order to influence others decision. I might be wrong but "i'm good because i wouldn't do this and you are bad if you don't do as i do" is a great way to make people want to do the opposite just to spite you.

I would never buy indie games off g2a that is just mean.

Instead of blaming a business lets improve how we can apprehend these criminals and not blame businesses we can encourage them to prevent these kinda things though. when you buy a game you are legally allowed a key as proof of ownership if you want to resell that you should be allowed to. I usually shop during steam sells so do not use g2a but this video bothered me because I feel like it paints this picture that social selling network should be held responsible for everyone there users do. They should make rules and enforce them but g2a is not evil because some people use it in a shitty way and the banks and police agencies are not well equipped to handle it. That is just my opinion though.

So only buy EAs games from G2a.

I had all my rent money stolen once. The check was stolen right out of the mail, right out of one of the blue, curb-side boxes for the USPS. It may have been a tiny amount to some people, but to me, I was going to face late fees and possible eviction. Thankfully, my bank helped me out and gave me proof to show to my landlord, who waived all the fees, etc. But it was nerve wracking as all hell. Scary, even. Having money stolen, needed money, in any amount is a nightmare. Don't perpetuate this by using scum holes like G2A.

A list of "good" sites at the end (or in the description) would be a nice addition. To my knowledge, apart from steam and the companies' sites (ubisoft store, blizzard...), there is Good Old Games (no steam key, but also no drm) and Humble Bundle that are clean.

I don't think a big part of the G2A-Keys are money laundery. Most Keys are just so cheap, because there are bought in Russia and the Keys are cheaper in Russia than in Europe. If you compare the G2A-Price to the Price of a Game in Sale, that is most of the time about the same price. I think most of the Keys are bought during Sales in Russia and later sold to Europe and North Amerika. That is just my Opinion, I might be wrong. I never bought a Game on G2A and never will, because of too Reasons. Reason 1: There is a possibilty that it is money laundery. And I will never support that. Reason 2: Some Publishers startet to price their Games same in all Regions, so nobody could profit from the Price difference. That is a big Problem in my Opinion, because now Videogames are to expensiv for the people living in this Regions. I do apologise for my bad english, sorry. But I hope you all get what I'm trying to say.

I might be despicable human being for buying things off these sites however i'm pretty much forced to. In romania the minimum wage is 250 EUR. A newly released AAA game is ranging from 60 to 100 EUR nowadays. As Romania doesn't have a separate region with revised price tags like Russia, I am forced to pay the same as countries where the minimal wage is 1000 EUR. This gives me 3 options: 1. buy the game full price and starve to death 2. go torrent the game 3. at least try to be legit and buy game keys from these resellers. Calling someone a despicable human being without having some background information about why they do things (not illegal things) is a really bad and nasty thing, especially when you are a youtuber and you are refering to 60% or more of your viewership.

While this makes sense, there is the issue of the developers still having to repay the people even if the key isn't sold on sites like this. The underlying issue is whether you enable criminals to sell keys or find another way to launder money... Sad thing to do to someone anyways...

The moral argument doesnt work for piracy and it doesnt work for this. Big developers should publically anounce they will retract keys of new releases illegally optained through G2A and other reselling sites. This way the public backlash will be less, G2A will lose business and the intereat of ceiminals in the site probably will be lessened. God knows if ubisoft or EA would do this people would still buy their games, just look at the lootcrate scenario and it would create a positive trend where other smaller companies will follow suite. Eventually the difficulty if checking if G2A keys can be used on a game will decrease the instances of this happening far more than a moral argument ever will.

As a game dev (which I'm not) can you almost blacklist your game from being sold on G2A? What I mean is contact G2A and say that you do not want your game sold on their site. Is this not a solution to the problem or am I missing something?

G2a and other key resellers prove that people are willing to pay money to buy games over pirating, just not the asinine $60-70 a title that companies are charging, even years after release. If devs price their product better, it takes away from g2a and resellers ability to siphon off buyers.

You're a hypocrite. I'm sure there is no alive person who will buy something at a retail price if you can find it with a discount from somewhere else. Without market competition prices will go up uncontrolled, because there will be only one place to buy this specific item and they will set the price of their choice.

In the cases where the cdkeys have been bought by stolen credit cards the private individual very rarely looses their money because they are insured through the card vendor ie. Mastercard or VISA. So the individual doesn't actually lose money as you claim in the beginning. Also the whole "stolen credit card" claim is just ridiculous. The keys aren't stolen and nor are they bought with stolen creditcards. In 9/10 cases it's a matter of "parallel import".

Fuck the gaming industry! Gamestop will give you $30 for a brand new game trade-in, break promises with pre-ordered and give you shit, charge you $60 to play online servers for a year on consoles, do microtransitions and/or pay-to-win bonuses, rarely listen to the community that backs them, and etc.. The ONLY games I'll straight up pay for is games with great storylines and/or indie games that havs proven their loyalty to supporters. Major game labels like Star Wars, Battlefield, Call of Duty, PUBG, DayZ, and others are all an example on why G2A helps us out

Perhaps the solution here is to stop issuing people with keys at all, and just have the purchase linked to their steam / origin / battlenet / etc account.

The only time I used G2A was when I bought Battlefield 3, my conscience is clear .

There is one thing not even mentioned in this video which is that before you purchase a game on g2a you get to see from who you are buying it, aka the person that bought and is selling the game key/gift. Looking at the person's ratings from other people you can tell if the person is trying to make "clean" money or is there to sell games cheaper while retaining a small amount of profit

i have bought one game off G2A. battlefield 4. the website just feels shady and i vowed never to buy anything that was not from EA from there again. now i am rethinking that to never going again. although if EA looses money... no the problems for someone else don't quite make it worth it.

The less spoken solution would be to make the banks responsible for the poor security of credit card. They are the ones not making their jobs properly by allowing criminals to steal and use credit cards info, therefore they should be the one paying the cost and not asking refund from companies selling goods.
