Hi, I'm Josh. I've spent the past 12 years in the computer security field. From a Linux Systems Administrator managing over 1,000 servers for a hosting company-to protecting websites you use every day at the world's largest DDoS mitigation provider. I got into internet privacy around 9 years ago when I learned exactly what data big companies were collecting and have access to. This channel is my way of sharing what I've learned in a format that I wish was available when I started.

no such thing as a "secure and private" device, governments won't allow citizens to have private coms..PERIOD but this is some what an improvement over a standard smartphone...potentially but it's owned just like all other smartphones
You did an awesome job at explaining all that, as well as explaining how to get graphene os onto it. I had to go back to google is and somehow left the bootloader open, can you direct me on how to close it please :)

The only complain I have is: why there's no 3.5mm audio jack? What are you even doing Google? Other then that, it's my only choice for table if I need a table.
Im a gen-x who stumbles filling out on-line PDF forms ,but with your videos i was able to install, troubleshooting, and have a base understanding of GrafineOS
Hi SOB! Thanks for the video! I made a lot of changes after watching your F-Droid mini-serie and alternatives. I have one question for you: using NeoStore, Aurora, and Obtainium to download F-Droid apps is more secure or should we only trust the official repositories via Obtainium? Unfortunately, Obtainium don't scan the packages so I don't have any proof of privacy and security of what I'm downloading. It's all up to me to find the good repos in the sea of fork repos, experiment repos, apk versions badly titles and troll repos. That's a bit frustrating and intimidating for someone not used to it. I mostly use NeoStore due to this problems since they alredy gathered the major repos. I use Obtainium to find apps that I cant' find on other store or to download the apk version instead of the F-droid but I'm not sure if I have to avoid F-Droid packages completely or not. 🤔🙁😖🤯😩
It's funnu how google needs our device's location for GPS when it's actually not required. With the proper app (non-Google app), you can use GPS offline and in airplane mode without anyone having the phone's location.
Do not use any bio for signing into your phone. Anyone can grab your finger or face and open your phone. Say police.... But if you use your pin, We in America have the right to remain silent. There for they would now need a warrant to open your phone.. So if they ask for your pin, stay silent. Not that your a criminal, it's your right {4th Amendment} and it's your person data. Protects you against unlawful searches
Unfortunately you are naive to what a non-profit entity status means and the romanticized idea of the status. Also, to note that wikipedia is a controlled media platform that censors and manipulates history facts.
The very first video I saw of you was about obtanium. Just installed this using the url add method. Getting set up on a spare 7a and testing it out. If I enjoy it I’ll be getting a 9pro and leaving iOS behind for good later this year. Thank you for all your videos!
1. Brave Browser' ı kapattığınızda arka planda sinsice çalışmaz. 2. Chrom da kullanılan Video/ Altyazı/ müzik indirme gibi eklentileri rahat çalıştırır. Chrome oyuncak gibi kalır. 3. Tüm reklemları engeller. (youtube, facebook gibi...) yıllarca ASLA Reklam görmezdin. 4. Şifrelerinizi korur. 5. Her açılışta kaldığı (son site) yerden devam eder. 6. Görünümü değiştirebilirsiniz. Lüzumsuz süsleri kapatabilirsin. 7. Kalkanlar sizi saldırı ve bilgi sızdırmalarına karşı korur. Kurşun geçirmez tarayıcıdır! 8. Performans ve Bellek tasarrufu boost özelliği vardır. 9. Yer imlerini eklediğinizde yer imleri araç çubuğu hemen önünüze açılır. 10. Kullanımı kolay, esnek HIZLI ve GÜVENİLİRDİR. Telemetry içermez, birşey yapmadan önce mutlaka onay ister. Bilgilerinizi izinsiz ÇALMAZ! Tavsiyemdir.
After importing everything from chrome to Brave, one of my extensions doesn't seem to be compatible. This youtube extension that is vita. It's called 'Improve RU-vid!' 🎧 (for RU-vid & Videos) When I turn it on, youtube videos do not play! They sit and buffer :( That extension is used to customize your channel, the player functions and a lot more. I do not want to go back to chrome! Please say if I can integrate this extension so that Brave will be okay with it? That would be great. thank you
What is the difference in privacy between GrapheneOS and CalyxOS? Assuming the installation of Google services on GrapheneOS and Aurora store on CalyxOS? It's my understanding that the Aurora Store is maintained by one guy playing a constant cat and mouse game with Google, so is the GrapheneOS sandboxing model a better long-term solution?
