GrapheneOS provides access to additional permission toggles that AOSP doesn't have. One of those toggles is sensors. A recently released feature now allows you to deny the sensors permission by default. Another added feature is denying the network permission on app install which makes it much easier to now guarantee an app will never have network access. The last main feature released is an option to relax exploit protection. This toggle is useful if you have an app that has some memory bugs, this toggle allows you to still run the app.

For the exploit protection, Waze will crash since it still utilize old malloc functions for memory, so enabling the compatibility mode is necessary for it to function until waze team fix it.

It would be fantastic if Josh @SideOfBurritos may find the time, perhaps in the near future, to create a video on this subject. It's a very important feature that allows for better app compatibility in some cases. If you'd like in the mean time, you can also learn more about the per-app exploit protection compatibility mode feature in our usage guides section titled, Bugs uncovered by security features. All sensors except the ones you can control individually. Love your content. Is it possible to do a video on using graphene on pixel 7 as it's currently "experimental" and compare it to using graphene on pixel 6? I'm thinking of getting a pixel 7 but this is the only thing stopping me.

Depends on your threat model. I think it's OK to use if you remove networking permissions. Some people don't like to regardless. Florisboard is open source and supports swype typing.

It's an unprivileged and sandboxed version of google playstore that GrapheneOS offers for compatibility with apps that require google services. It doesn't come preinstalled with the OS and you can freely uninstall it without issue in GrapheneOS.

Yes, as @Voltu and @David mentioned it's an option install after you install GrapheneOS. I have it installed for the demo, but I also have a separate User Profile where I have them installed for apps that require the services.

Exactly what @My Name's not Important said. It's likely, since it appears it will have a similar, if not the same architecture to the Pixel phones. I'm really hoping it does. I don't think they've revealed the screen size yet, but it'll be nice to have GrapheneOS on something larger than a standard phone.

The auto-reboot is a great feature. Especially for returning the phone to a pre-first unlocked state if it's seized and out of your control.

Haha, thankfully the transition has been nice! The GOS team has done a great job. Even when Google is needed with Sandboxed play services it's seamless.
