Emulation is my main game; whether it's on a 3DS or a dedicated device, I'm always there to talk about it! Videos every Wednesday/Thursday, hope you stick around!
This, the RG Cube and the Retroid Pocket Mini are amazing recent releases but so hard to make that decision of which to get since they all have some use case overlap. Recently canceled my order of the AYANEO Flip DS and now may get this after seeing how crisp that display is and how beautiful the red color option. Thank you for show casing, think I may go for this instead of the other two handhelds.
Sometimes screen manufactures make screens of a certain size, but some batches of screens have portions of the screen that are faulty. They take those screens and reduce the screen size to a functional size and sell those as whatever size they were able to produce from the faulty screens. As an example, let's say a standard screen for a TV is 55", but you'll see a manufacture release 52" screen size. Those are more than likely screens that were cut down from the 55" screens, so they lose less money from the cost of the manufacturing of the initial batch. They are perfectly good screens. It's a just way for them to not lose money from the production of the whole line of the "bad" batch. It's probably one of the ways Retroid keeps the cost for their handhelds low.
playing native 3ds at 1x resolution is so weird after playing at 2x or 3x with these emulators. im glad the rg cube exists as a genuinely good 3ds alternative.
Do you think they will release a retroid pocket 5 plus or pro version? I just got my 4 pro and love it but maybe I’ll just wait for the six next year 😂
I doubt it or at least I hope they don’t, I don’t think there would be any reason to and I think it would be smart to wait until next year to do the pocket 6.
I felt exactly the same way and picked up the rp4pro because the price dropped. I received it a good week ahead of schedule and GameCube is a dream specialty at this price. Go for it!
Pre ordered the mini. So hyped for it. It seems like everything i've wanted for so long. I disagree about paying less for a mini device. Some people want mini devices with no hardware compromises, and other than the ram and Android version, Retroid has basically delivered that. I can't be the only person neophyte to pay for that. Please get your mic sorted. Your vocals are all over the place (left and right). Other than that, nice little video.
I'd love to buy the RP Mini, but it's too expensive for what I intend to use it for (as a complement to the Odin 2, essentially dedicated to Gen 4 below.
Yeah for like $100 less than the odin you're better off saving the extra money and waiting for the odin 2 mini at this point lol. I originally wanted to get the Pocket Micro but at that price point, performance and the specific lack of a headphone jack despite it's thickness I'm better off waiting for the price to drop closer to 100
Mofo gen 4 is 16 bit, there's so many smaller and cheaper devices you could get that can handle that while also handling 5th gen. Why would you even be looking at this
I'm going to try to be strong and hold out for a Flip 2, but Portmaster on an AMOLED SD865 might make me buy an RP5 before that happens! So much potential!
Was an early backer of odin 2 pro purple version but returned due to issues unlucky tbf and not long got an Odin 2 mini pro and i like it way better and yes ive got big hands but it just works and also liking the vita witch i still regret selling then yeah its a winner.
Idk if there is anybody in 2024😂. But i can't decide if i should use the mGBA emulator, or this way. Like, wich one is better and if there is any pros or cons when using either one...help!!😅
Awesome review been thinking of getting the odin 2 max or the 2 mini and lowkey ama go with the mini lol looks really cute Also what are those switch 3rd party controllers called?
