I have a question: Is that all you are going to show of the Carretera Austral? Because I found very dissapointing how little time you gave to it, only 1 video?. Places like Villa O'Higgins, Rio Tranquilo, Lago General Carrera y las Capillas de Marmol, Cochrane and the rivers Nef/Baker confluence, Puerto Chacabuco, Puerto Cisnes, Puyuhuapi, Queulat Glacier, Futaleufu (the town and the rafting in the river rapids), Hornopiren, and several other places were completely left out. Call me picky, but after 9 videos dedicated to the argentinian side of Patagonia, I really was expecting more for our side :-). Cheers!
Hey! Sorry to disappoint. 🤷♀️ We traveled much faster than usual this time for several reasons. Typically, we avoid touristy places and activities. And this area, including what you mentioned like Capillas de Mármol, is very touristy and not as interesting for us. We prefer wilder spaces and fewer towns or cities. But this is just personal preference. Of course, we share the places we visit, but we don't travel just to show them. The Carretera Austral crosses beautiful landscapes on its own, and we enjoyed it that way. In any case, we traveled much faster in Chile than in Argentina, mainly due to the prices and the privatization, which makes wild camping difficult, as we are used to. Thank you for commenting and touching this topic, it's also important for us to share our preferences and our choices! 🤗
We are an old couple from the UK Just to say we have loved your films on here and we will mix you thank you for sharing you loves with us Good luck in all you do in the future G And I E Saunders
Loved the drive thank you for sharing. I prefer the dirt sections myself but some pavement is welcome once in a while. Hope they keep it the way it is.
The dirt sections are normally in the parts of the road that are even more stunning, but yeah after a while of tough terrain, the paved road feels soooo good!
EVEN IF YOU HUMAN SLAVES FILL THIS ENTIRE PRISON WORLD WITH FICTION ( MONEY ) OR ( DIAMOND GOLD SILVER ) THAT STILL CAN'T CREATE WATER WHY DO YOU HUMAN SLAVES BELIEVE THAT YOU NEED TO EARN & PAY FICTION ( MONEY ) TO BE ALIVE ? WHY DO YOU HUMAN SLAVES BELIEVE THAT ARCHONS RULING YOU CAN CREATE FICTION ( MONEY ) ? WHY DO YOU HUMAN SLAVES BELIEVE THAT FICTION ( MONEY ) IS REAL AND HAS VALUE ? * WHY DO YOU HUMAN SLAVES BELIEVE THAT ( DIAMOND GOLD SILVER ) HAVE MORE VALUE THAN LAND & WATER ? * ARCHONS RULING YOU HUMAN SLAVES CREATED FICTION ( MONEY ) TO MAKE YOU DO THE EVILS WHICH OTHERWISE YOU WOULD NEVER DO *
It was really peaceful there! I didn't record it, but swimming there was extraordinary! So beautiful! And you can swim in the salty water and then shower in the water streams coming down from the mountains. 😍
Chile. Is such a beautiful country to over land in always have loved going there over the years with friends that live there . Thanks for sharing your wonderful journey and memories with us all your over landing friends . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :):) :) 🍻😁👍🏼
Hey Steve, we were really lucky with the weather and could enjoy the epic views! We had some trouble finding Wild spots, as most of it it's private and this was one of the main shocks after Argentina. But this part of Chile is breathtaking!
Chilling out in Chile. Chile is so beautiful. green Andes mountains alongside Pacific Ocean? wow! just wow! I also loved those lavender flowers along the road. there were so many of them. I loved it. thank you for sharing your adventurous journeys with the world and let us know more about other places in the world. you're such a lovely couple. safe journeys and doroud (meaning hi in persian) from Iran
Flowers absolutely everywhere. I think they were angry because they had no sun , and pooringtrain for so long during spring that they all came out in an explosion of colors. Yes, Chile is really beautiful, specially that area!
enjoyed the video! morning fog breaking up and sun quickly showing a hot day to come. Your breakfast in the tail end of video is inspiring...hungry for second course now
Do you mean gpx tracks? We don't share those as we always encourage others to make their own routes, but if you are interested in an specific place we will be happy to share more details!
Dear BlueLandy i noticed you have wrestled with placing and replacing the lifting strutz for the roof. Have you found a high quality replacement and also what is the optimum lifting placement?
Hey, yeah we replaced them, the roof got too heavy… we were running a quit heavy roof load. I got a bit stronger ones but I guess I might need to go back to stock if there is noon the roof rack. I sadly don't have a brand for you, we ordered them online in Germany and my brother brought them to us. This was the only chance to get the big ones and even so the eyelets where wrong 🙈
I am not a specialist in video travel and only occasionally (very often without being informed - or even touched - afterwards) look at what is going on there. A marketplace for products, vanities, exaggerations and misdirection; but technically almost always up to date. In your reports, however, the message is really touchingly individual and genuine! After each video, you have to reappear to find back to the current environment. 😊 I think you get very close to the buried sense of travel (in however many personal nuances it may manifest). (Your mountaineering really impresses me; have no experience at all. Only walked up Mount Kinabalu [Sabah] once. The first part in the hot and humid jungle and then demoralizing icy wind at the top). Whatever else you are planning, I hope you can do it with the same honest attitude as before! Wie der Dichter sagt: "Das Leben nennt der Derwisch eine Reise....". Und die geht von Aussen nach Innen - und manchmal auch umgekehrt! 😇 Gute Wünsche! Roger-T.
We try to be as genuine as possible! Sometimes people find us boring, but the thing is, we are not always doing entertaining things, or fun things and that's also part of travel. I don't want to give a wrong idea of what it is, or romanticize it. We also don't like seeing people selling us stuff we don't need, so you will not see us promoting products in our channel. If you hear from our experience with gear it will be because we have tried it and have an unbiased opinion about it. Thank you for watching and commenting about these topics!
I feel fortunate to have been about to follow along on your visits to these parks. The Refugio Rene Negro in particular is a dream spot. To be able to get out of the wind and weather in that place with a fire and good food, wow. You must have slept well there.
11:47 The garbage because of the wind comes from another place, and from the subject of Indian workers. The reason is that the different cultures of Indians like to sit with each other, but some of them mix with the Saudis, and this is in all Gulf countries.👍🏻🌹
Sadly the wind blows and the fences collect all the rubbish. I can assure you Saudis are throwing rubbish as well, as we saw it in front of us as we camped in the dunes. A family came with the 4x4 and left all the take away containers on the sand when they left. It is sad, because Saudi Arabia is absolutely incredibly beautiful!!
@@Thebluelandy The desert is like the ocean. When you throw garbage into the sea in America, it reaches Australia. The same thing happens in the desert but from the wind.😅
At the cabin you stayed at for Christmas, there was a tree with orange stuff on it. Is it a fruit or a some kind of fungi? Thanks again for the great video.
Really good video. Thank you for sharing your work. Great photography too. Greetings from rainy Wellington New Zealand. I also just replaced the steering relay on my 1976 LWB pick up. Lovely place you live in. Go well,
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! We stayed on Namibia for some weeks, and we don't live there. But it has become one of the highlights of our trip. Absolutely a magical place only possible because of the lovely owners. I hope those old bolts didn't give you a headache. Not all places have the luck of having a weather like in Namibia, were nothing rusts. 😅
Not the best weather, but you are doing this journey your way - that is what matters - the rest must either fall in line or .. .. .. .. fall off. Enjoy.
Aw some of my favorite memories are of going back to places all ready visited . For more enjoyable new memories in a favorite place . Clad to see you all living life to the fullest . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. 🌎🍻👍🏼😁..P.S. that’s the best way to truly see and visit the world over landing . Awesome video . 👍🏼
And always experience it in a new way. We loved it even more the second time, as we could concentrate more on the fun and less on the logistics and ticking off the boxes🤟
I think that was my favourite episode since the very beginning of your journey. Maybe the 2nd visit to the farm in Namibia, which I also really enjoyed. Great stuff amigos. Thank you for sharing with us all.
Maybe I shouldn't talk since I'm guilty of doing the same but it's making me nervous watching you climb without a helmet. You can bang your head on the wall pretty hard depending on how you fall, and a falling rock from above could be the end. Really interesting point about the value of returning to your favorite places! It's not as if we can fully experience a place with only one visit!
Yes, not the best. That's why we took care of always putting the feet on the right side of the rope, so in case of fall we would not have a bad whip. But all the gear is back in Europe, including the helmets. And buying new(very expensive in Argentina) was an overkill in our mind. I believe it's important to come back to do what you love, specially in such a trip where normally everything is constantly new!
Thanks again for a super video, and good change in character that showed what you had enjoyed and not chasing a tick-box list. Maybe you should have done it more often, for your own enjoyment. But don't get me wrong. I really appreciate all the effort you guys have made to show us such amazing sights throughout your whole trip, not just South America. Just fantastic, and I think I will be re-watching many episodes !!
I think a balance is key! We love to see new places and we do get bored if we stay long in a place. But normally we get bored , because there is no possibility to do the things we like, climbing, surfing, etc. I believe as well we should have done it more often, but that also would have stopped us from seeing some of the most epic locations. So, yeah, balance is good!
