don't be dumbasses and go into debt. you'll be a slave. Remove the word "student" from the front of it, b/c that F's with your brain to make you feel like it's some lighter version of a normal loan. You are taking out a LOAN from a bank that you have to pay back, and will suck your soul to do so
Sallie Mae is a predatory lender by design. They target and bait low-income students with no credit history and tactically lead co-signers into inflated rates.
ADA workers were discriminated against, managers displayed actions of deformation of character to colleagues, sexual misconducts were never addressed, systems had several flaws and no real answers, feedback was never welcomed kindly & ambition was frowned upon. People who work at this company are blind and selfish and only care about what’s going to benefit them. This company is predatory, unfair and should not require so much stress from employees and customers. What they said they will never do is teach students that if you take out a loan that it will take you 9 years to basically be paying the actual principal of the loan if you get a certain type of loan paying only the MMP which is a vital piece of information to inform students and parents but they don’t care because the lack of knowledge only benefits them more.
f no to sallie mae just choose any other one. the amount of scam stories ive heard from people saying they increased their rates and stuff without letting them know are just awful. my parents hated them too when they were in college and always say no!
I can't thank you enough for all of these educational videos, I'm an international student, student loans aren't a thing in my country, I have 0 education and knowledge about it, just got accepted to my dream US school to get my graduate degree with a partial merit scholarship, those series of video been very useful and informative for me
OK so I have a student loan right now that I’m repaying for my bachelors degree does anyone know if I can add loan for flight training to this or does it count as an undergraduate loan?
Is there a lender you recommend I’m in a tough spot here my family wants me out but I don’t have established credit score and I’m working minimum pay jobs so I’m trying to get a full loan for flight school for the 12 month 141 plan and they don’t want to co-sign. Thank you for making student loan interest easy to understand. I don't remember my student loans accruing interest so quickly. My daughter's student loan is compounding daily and has become very difficult to pay off. When did student loans start compounding interest daily? Has it always been like this? Would love a response. Thank you.
Do not listen to this man in the video. He knows not what he is speaking of. Additionally, he's paid to advertise these companies. He said it at the beginning of this video. Sallie Mae sucks ass and you will be in debt for the next 15-20 years if you go with them. Avoid this predatory company at ALL costs.
This guy clearly doesn't know the predatory business practices that he is advertising. Sallie Mae sucks ass. All of the reviews they have from the BBB were bought, not earned. They are a bunch of government-backed crooks that hike interests rates through the roof and have absolutely zero give or flexibility when it comes to helping their customers. Don't sign up for autodebt either, because when the promise you a measly 0.25% reduction in your interest rate, it only stays that way for a month and then they raise it an additional 3%. Your autodebt payments will continue to climb from your original specified amount until you cancel it. If you want a student loan, go with someone else and for God's sake GET A FIXED RATE!!!
What if the cosigner lives in a different state and also can international students get a loan from a bank that is not near the college or in other state?

My freshman daughter applied for College Ave loans, and they told her to offer college ave website that shows 5.4% interest and that not true. My daughter loans is 16.9% interest rate plus daily accrual interest , every day add between $11 - $140 daily. I call the College Ave and they told me to rate everything because my daughter doesn't have credit, so every time to pay extra, we don't see that paid nothing, we still the same amount that borrowed $14, 000. The College Ave increase our loans to pay $19,000. Please be warning for this loan. Red flag
I'm a finance counselor. I don't like either of these companies. Sallie Mae is especially difficult to deal with. Collegeave is not licensed to provide student loans in all 50 states so check if you are on their list before applying.

I just finished paying off my 5th and final student loan with this predatory company. My advice: DO NOT do any business with Sallie Mae as they are difficult and irritating to deal with. I paid off my last loan online, but when I called to ask when will I receive a mailed letter saying I am officially finished, the agent sounded defeated because Sallie Mae will no longer be getting anymore money from me.
