Our channel is about Rome, the Roman countryside and the Roman culture. Our goal is to help make your first or next visit to Rome your greatest adventure ever.
Thanks for a really informative video. We were planning a 2 week trip in March 2025 incl abt 5 days in Rome. However, i just read a few articles that say Rome is going to be extra busy bcos of Jubilee year with over 3 times of regular visitors..shld we postpone our trip to March 2026?
The Jubilee only happens every 25 years and if you have the opportunity to go do not miss. Rome will look its best and it may be more crowded but Rome is always crowded, just get your accommodations set up early. March is a great month in Rome! DO NOT MISS!!!!
We are debating between taking the italo train from Rome to Pisa through central Italy versus taking the Trenitalia Frecciabianco along the coast. I hear the italo train has better quality prima (plus I have a $50 coupon), but I'm really intrigued about the scenic view of the Mediterranean Sea along the coast that the lower quality FB train will give us. I understand that we have to take a transfer if we go with Italo. What are your thoughts on this?
Italo does not service Pisa so you are likely taking Italo to Florence and then Trenitalia to Pisa. From Rome you still may have to transfer from Rome but I would take the Trenitalia and go for the scenery over speed as neither option will get you there quickly. Maybe if heading back to Rome try both options. Have fun!
Well I’m ready. Going to Rome in November. I hope I don’t become a statistic. Thank you for all the education. I’m binge watching all the pickpocket video about Rome. I’m getting nervous!!!!!!
Chances are low that you’ll have an issue. If you’re really concerned, just avoid public transportation, but remember they can’t take what you don’t have on you so just don’t carry too much cash or credit cards and you’re good.
Great walking tour. We’ll be in Rome for a shore excursion. Is it something that can be done during our time in Rome. We’ll have about 5-6 hours. (Not including our travel time back to the ship)
I have the perfect itinerary for you. Check this vid out I think you will like it!ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P7G6418QnF0.htmlsi=5hHHeyFD8_os-Dk3
This is becoming the world norm. Not just big cities You left off the most important part - it has to be a contactless credit card. The US is behind in adoption of it
@@RozierRoma no ticket to go up to the top of the dome right? How about the Vatican garden? I couldn’t find the Vatican garden ticket sales anywhere. I found a combine tour that included in the Vatican museum tour. However I did the museum already and want to visit the garden only.
I am a solo 79 year old female from Australia. I travelled in Sicily, naples and Rome. NO PROBLEMS. why you have valuables in your pockets I will never understand. A good bag, never taken off in public
90% of the time that is very true but there are times when you have your bags and other things taht can make you a target. Pickpockets are not just taking from pockets.
Hi Buddy , Really like your video , very information & very detail. If I am staying @ Rome Termini Station area. What is the best public transport to Piazza Navona ?can i take the Metro ? thanks in advance
You could hop on lots of buses from the terminal station that take you to Largo, Argentina, Largo, Argentina, and it’s just a short walk from there. H bus, 64 bus and there are others.
Thank you so much for your videos, they really are terrific. You lay every detail out so well and we will be using this itinerary for our 2 days in Rome when we return from our cruise October 30/24, we are staying at the Dharma boutique hotel for 2 days. Can you tell me when you were there in this particular video for reference to the weather? I see people wearing light jackets and no sandals. I'm not sure how to pack, and can't over pack because of the cruise.
The last half of October and the first half of November is usually ideal weather. A light jacket is typically all you need, If by chance the weather is cooler you can easily pick up a sweater or whatever for very good price in Rome. Lots of options. Most days are sunny with highs in the low 70's and lows in the upper 40's to low 50's F.
Very useful video - thanks. I didn't know about Freenow, so I've got that (I was planning to use Uber, until I saw your reply to another comment that its very restricted and expensive in Rome) Thank you again
Are you asking for recommendations or just want to know where we stay? We bounce around but stay mostly in Trastevere near the Santa Maria in Trastevere Basilica.
I've been watching to many vídeos showing that Rome is full of works to restore monuments because of the Jubilee celebrations, does it make it difficult to see the monuments? Is it still worth it to go?
It is a hard call. Yes there are several things in repair and it will impact your visit but I still think there are enough things that are still open. Waiting to next year you will get to be in Rome for the jubilee but how crowded will it be? I am betting by December 2024 most thing will be opened and will be a great month in Rome. Fingers crossed!
I have a very good one for you in fact one of the best airbnb's I have been in all of Italy. Perfect everything.www.airbnb.com/rooms/37580592?guests=1&adults=1&s=67&unique_share_id=90582528-bd69-4a61-8b2f-66f025c38eb2
Hello, I'm visiting Rome on October 8th and your videos have been a great help in making my decision and helping me during my 7 days in Rome. Thank you so much for sharing these fantastic videos with us! All the best!
Just an opinion: the background music is too loud and distracting. In someplaces it's hard to hear you over it. And the volume difference between the fade in and out is unpleasant. I'm subscribed and love your content!!
Did you really say that the Vatican Museum is overrated? I tell everyone that the more you put into researching your visit, the more you'll get out of it.
Such a great, comprehensive itinerary! Thank you so much for putting this together! Two questions: 1) How long will this one-day walking tour take at a medium pace with a few stops for food, restroom, and photo ops? 2) Which, if any, of these restaurants/vendors offer vegan fare? Please keep the videos coming! Nothing helps us travelers more than recommendations plus maps - and you've cornered that market on those for Rome! Well done!
I am glad you liked it. It is about 4.5 miles, at a very slow pace, giving you plenty of time to eat and just enjoy. Plan for 6 hours. (Actual walking time about 1.5 hours). Sorry not too sure about vegan food. Hard to enjoy Rome on a vegan diet. I get it but if it is not part of your religion you may want to make some compromise. I hope you have a great visit
Thanks much! This is very helpful! I was thinking it would be a much fuller day, so this is great news!! As for vegan options in Rome - I actually hear there are tons of options. I have a list of restaurants and gelaterias, but no street food vendors... I guess I just need to plug all these restaurants into a map so we can walk the itinerary and find the closest restaurants with vegan options whenever we are hungry/ready to eat/need a restroom! I'm not big on mapping technology. Can I use your itinerary and add the restaurants I have listed?
I just wanted to thank you. I recently visited Rome, and your videos really helped me to plan. I had an amazing week and saw loads of wonderful sites. I now have the Rome bug, and I'm already thinking about saving to go again. Thanks again for your videos! ❤
@@RozierRoma we took the bus to Trastevere. Walked around, had an Aperol Spritz, then headed back to the hotel. The tap credit card worked on 4 buses that we used. I would recommend taking a few different credit cards as the Bank of America travel card would not work… but both of the Capital One Venture cards did. If I didn’t have the spare… it would have been an illegal ride and subject to a fine.
@@RozierRoma the pizza was very good! And the owner at the counter was so friendly… I showed him your RU-vid channel and he was grateful for the recommendation of his business. He took a picture of my screen with your channel… so you might have a new follower 😁
Great article thanks! I have been to some of the places you mention, excellent directions! I go to Roma every year, will be there in two days can’t wait! Grazie mille☺️
My 4th visit to Rome is coming up, this time with 2 of my granddaughters. Despite being there before, there are several things you covered that I’m gonna have to add to my list of sites to cover with them. Thanks for the info. Like your channel.
I disagree about holding it against the Romans-they’re not doing anything about it and likely won’t until it starts putting a serious dent in their tourism. At this point I’m starting to wish I had left Rome out of my plans.
Almost no stabbings, murders, violent crime. Yes theft is an issue, but it could be worse. One option is to stay in Rome, where it’s easier to walk to most sites and avoid the metro bus were 90% of pickpocket stick place.
Many restaurants throughout Rome self the Jewish fried artichokes, but the best place is to get them where they originated in the Jewish ghetto. They sell to go ones at Bona Pizza right in the middle of the main street in the Jewish ghetto. If you want a more sit down experience, there are several good options next-door. They sell them year-round but the best time is when they’re in season. I’m not sure when it starts but maybe December January February March April something like that
Sunday is a very fun day to visit the Jewish ghetto, but it is very busy. I recommend you get over there. I think you will love it and if not, you’ll at least try something very original in Rome.
Great video! We will definitely visit some of these places next month. Largo Argentina was where Caesar was murdered. I know it would make your video too long, but there is so much along that route beyond food.
There is lots to discover for sure. I figure I will promote some of the larger known sites and some of my favorite food and people can discover lots of other interesting sites along the way.
I agree with you after the Vatican capital Museum and churches it might be time to change it up. When I do is to rent a paddle buggy and cruise around Villa Borgheses Park Or take a day trip out to Tiboli
@@RozierRoma This next visit we are going to stay in Rome, but spend most of our time on close day trips: Ostia Antica, Tarquinia, Cerveteri, Tivoli, and your biking recommendation down the Appian Way. I’ll post stuff on my “Looking for Romans” channel when I get back.
Hi, and thank you for all your tips and advice. My husband and I will be in Rome next month, and are booked to stay is Trastevere. I really appreciate the reviews of restaurants you like, and places not to miss. I hope we have the stamina to walk everywhere, and enjoy every corner!
I would still stay in Rome for the most part. If you do not like the idea of a big city one of the options outside wakes the most sense. If I were staying in Rome area for multiple days I personally would split up the time between Rome & Tivoli especially if I were visiting in peak months. Hard to say how crowded Rome with be with the Jubilee. I heard they are expecting 10 million extra people visiting Rome in 2025?? Not sure if that is right but it will be more crowded for sure. The biggest disadvantage of staying outside of Rome is you will miss out and the later evenings/ nights in Rome and the early mornings when the city is most enjoyable. That is way I would spand at least a couple of night in the city. Hope that helps.
