I don't tend to fault people too much when they do their minimum legal duty. That's what Paterno did here- bare minimum, but could've done more. That is why, despite the heinous acts of Sandusky, I don't tend to fault Paterno as much. People have their reasons. Maybe it's a matter of legal liability- child sex abuse is a major accusation, and one might want to take a breather and go through the chain of command rather than directly to police over concerns of making wrongful accusations. Maybe it was that handling child abuse was a personal weakness of Joe's. Tarnishes his legacy a bit; then again, show me someone who has zero character vulnerabilities and I will concede the point. That is where Craig and I will disagree. Same goes for why I tend to support those who used steroids in baseball pre-2003 testing. Same goes for why I am supportive of Trevor Bauer. For all I care, Sandusky could've murdered the boys afterwards- if Paterno does his minimum legal duty, I won't fault Paterno much despite the heinous nature. Ik it's an old video, but it's ironic that this self-entitled prick degraded and gaslighted a young journalist and talked out of his obvious hatred for PSU before gathering all the facts--if you honestly believe multiple parties knew the transgressions for 25 years and nothing came out you're just plain stupid.
