I think this video has set a new world record for using the word “iconic”, not only is it boring and repetitious it is also very poor writing for a commentary.
Imagine having two new characters, Darth Maul and Jar Jar Binks. And deciding to mostly cut Maul out of the film to make room for more Jar Jar. I feel like Lucas was high as a kite during those films.
Have you actually heard Darth Vader talking with the Bristol accent,, it's quite funny because we all know what Vader sounds like, it's iconic, but that aside my favourite character is boba fet, legend
What you meant to say is, Luke’s story arc and ending was completely squandered to give Rey the finale. Luke should have been there, alive to support her. Rey had no business facing multiple with lords alone and it made absolutely no sense.
They did an interesting job. Knowing that it's CGI makes you look for it, but I've seen people react to Rouge One who've never seen a New Hope, who know nothing about Cushing/Tarkin, and they don't pick up on this character being digital. Someone suggested if he'd been made a hologram it would cover the fakeness. Also, Deep Fakes probably look better.
What constitutes an “alien” or “half-alien” in SW? The movement for Grievous was too goofy imo. Like Jar Jar-Esau’s, cartoony. Wasn’t a fan of the movement and it under minded that I think was a generally pretty cool character other than that.
Darth maul was the sole reason why I was afraid of star wars as a kid. My dad owns a statue of him and his whole character design gave me the creeps.. (I love star wars now lol)
Before watching the movie I knew the character was going to be CGI so going into the film I noticed oddities. My dad however thought it was a real guy. He did think they had used a younger actor and applied make up as he said the actor moved about like a younger guy instead of an elderly man. Looking back it wasn't a bad job, the lighting was much harsher then New Hope so that might have been why he felt different.
Well one thing is for sure.......George Lucas certainly didn't take the easy route!!! I mean can you imagine how much easier the chase scene between Kenobi and Grevious would have een if they were both just riding in basic speeder bikes? Instead he went for a dragon/reptile hybrid mount and a basically a 3D unicycle
George Lucas is so sweet <3 :) because I had always wondered about that cartilage piercing in Park's ear and wondered if they meant to leave it there or take it out and it turns out Lucas said he liked the look so they left it in. I have three cartilage piercings in each ear myself now so I thought that was neat he let him leave it in for the movie. ^_^
I totally agree! Kylo Ren's character had so much potential and depth, and it was such a shame to see him killed off after such a long arc. It was definitely a disappointing decision on the part of the writers, and it left a lot of fans feeling unsatisfied with the way the character was handled in the end.
I'll admit that I was one of the people who hated this movie when I first watched it. I got so hung up on all the supposed "unanswered questions" from TFA, which was fueled by all the speculation videos and supposed "leaks" from those RU-vid channels run by people with "insider information" that I hated the movie for not answering them. I was also expecting Luke to be a more powerful version of the hero I saw as a child, not a broken man hiding on an island. Fast forward to this year, and I've just rewatched the sequel trilogy. This time I watched each movie on it's own merits and really enjoyed them. In fact, I enjoyed TLJ more than TFA this time around. TRoS is probably the worst of the bunch, but I think that's down to 2 things. 1) it was rushed 2) it's overlong. If they cut 20 minutes out of it and trimmed some scenes for pacing, bringing the movie down to 2 hrs, it'd be better.
