Hello, I'm Matthew Muniz, and I post weekly videos on anything personal finance related or fitness related. Basically anything that will help improve your quality of life, or help you live longer, is what these videos focus on. Thanks for stopping by!
Couple things... First: another option instead of "stall mat grips." are "panel carrier" handles. Same concept, but sometimes cheaper and more useful for other things as well (like moving plywood). Second: be careful folding or rolling up the mats. They can split/crack if you make too tight a bend. Oh, and 2x4s are rarely straight. Use an actual straight edge or a long level or snap a chalk line etc...
Chalk line im definitely a fan of, I didn’t even think of that! And wow, I’ve never heard of panel carrier handles but also a great idea. Thank you for sharing!
Best thing I learned is buy all the mats you need at once and do same day delivery. Tractor Supply only charged me $70 to deliver 30 mats. Insanely good deal.
If it’s a small apartment all on one floor I wouldn’t recommend the stall mats. Even after sitting for some Time there will still be a light odor that could be annoying if it’s in your living area.
I just got my mats this weekend from Tractor Supply. They had smooth 3x4’ mats, but it was cheaper to get the 4x6’ mats, but the 4x6’ mats have a “pebble” surface. I feel like the tape won’t stick nearly as well…so I’m going to try the method where you screw corners of the mats into the concrete and use a spacer ring to keep the screw from going all the way through the mat.
We just got the active cash card, and after a few transactions, I didn't see any activity on the account. I checked the next day with the same results. I called WF and they told me that the transactions were there but pending. I said that is fine, but I would like to see that in my account. After 3 more operators, they sent me to tech support who explained that if I go to the transactions pending, and click on the plus sign next to it, my pending transactions worked. I felt like a dope at that point but was happy it was resolved. I just wish the first operator would have asked me to check that. Plus, the tech support was quite rude and I felt like she was mad at me. Thanks for the video!
Hahaha exactly the same experience I’ve had! Sometimes stuff just isn’t as easy as it might seem. But easy or not their customer service could do so much better to help us in times like that.
Would you recommend horse stall mats for carpet floors as well? Should I put plywood on top of the carpet first and then the rubber mats, or is just rubber mats enough?
Hmmm tbh if the gym is doing to be there a while, I would remove the carpet and put the mats on the subfloor. The mats will destroy the carpet overtime leaving black residue. Plus, below the carpet is the subfloor which is your plywood
I am really getting scared about my M1 account that I opened based on your professional financial advice. They are forcing me to close my checking account plus they have been giving me 0% interest when they are getting 5.3%+ on the back side with my money. Can I get my most money back?
Hey Dave, not sure what you mean, I still use M1 and haven’t had any issues. I’m not familiar with their checking… I only use the investment platform. I’m not a professional financial advisor either fyi lol. I just give my opinions. If I’m looking for a place to keep cash I use a big bank (I use chase checking) but I keep most of my cash above monthly expenses in a mix of Ally HYSA and fidelity SPAXX core fund (5%)
Taxed similar to JEPi. Very similar strategies. You can have it in a taxable account and it will have a portion of the dividends paid as qualified… but the rest, from options premiums - will be taxed as OI
Let them air out for a few days , sitting on 2x4s to let air go above and below them. This helps a ton. Then if needed use simple green to scrub them top and bottom. But honestly after they air out for a few days it goes away.
@@KillyWildlands it seems to be staying steady/ increasing over time. Plus with its strategy there is no cap on growth, since covered calls aren’t written on the entire portfolio. I wouldn’t put my life savings in it but I think it deserves a position in my personal portfolio.
@@MMuniz I appreciate that. My thought is that when it comes to investing, it never hurts to learn the same things from different sources! There is just so much to try to figure out. 😳 Thanks again!
Groceries: I've been rocking the... AAA Daily Advantage (No Annual Fee) 5% cash back up to $10K spend per year + No Foreign Transaction Fee Visa Signature. That may interest you. I'm also glad you brought up the Best Buy card. Very underrated card with crazy earning potential.
Lol nothing wrong with this! Just ensure that there isn’t a 6 month limit or something where they will charge the rewards back. I don’t believe there are… but you never know.
I purchased two 10k I-Bonds when the interest was 7.12%. This was followed by that 9.62% rate and then 6.48%. But that 4.30% is only for new bonds because part of that is a new .90% fixed rate that only applies to new bond purchases. I'm only making 3.38%. But when you consider that I'm making 6.65% over two years and no state and local taxes it's worth holding for now. If the new rate in November is horrible I'll wait three months and then cash out.
Very true and I should have clarified on the fixed rate more specifically about buying in now. If you got in at 7.12 you timed it perfectly! Thank you for sharing.
I feel like with your name cbfitrunner you probably put a ton of time on the treadmill so this makes sense. Probably would get way more wear and tear from you vs someone like me who runs on occasion.
My dad is #1 fan of Verizon visa signature lol! Bilt I’ve heard great things but haven’t researched myself. Going to look into it now. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks chad! Looking forward to checking out your content as well. Very interested in the airlines card titled one as I’m leaning towards getting one end of year but am not 100% sure yet.
Great cards! I’m team travel but is always a good idea to have $0 annual fee cash back cards as a backup in case your priorities change. Great video and information! 🫡🇵🇷
Thanks for the compliments 😎. I’m looking forward to moving back to team travel in a few years, but for now I just can’t make it work. Luckily there are credit cards for everyone👍🏼
Dave Ramsey guy. Dont mess with the bull. Might get the horns. People always think they can handle things that can bite. But one bad month or set back then your debt can gain exponentially.
Ramsey is super successful, so can’t argue his preachings. However I think some of them are a bit too conservative especially in regards to leveraging debt
@@MMuniz I was one of them up until 2-3 years ago. I had plenty of money in checking, but I found that it also lends a tacit approval to overspend. It's why I don't buy into the overspending arguement of credit cards, because I fell into the same trap with debit/ checking.
Great video. I can’t believe you don’t mention the best card ever. The Verizon Visa. 4% groceries, 3% gas, 2% Verizon, 1% everywhere else and the biggest benefit is we get $50 off for 5 phone lines every month. It’s really best for Verizon customers which is most cell phone users.
The Wells Fargo app is definitely sub par and I go over this topic specifically in another video where I discuss eveyrhing you need to know about WF. However, for basic redemptions of cash, it works. It isn’t my favorite, but I like easy money so it is what it is. They don’t have travel partners or offer bonuses for specific stores to my knowledge, but they do offer discounted gift cards for retail. I have taken advantage of this in the past.
@@movimientofire ah the background is from Elden ring hhahaha. As for the smoke, oh my goodness that was crazy! Never seen anything like it. It is much clearer now but we still get air quality warnings more than we ever used to. It’s very interesting tbh
