Iris Global is a Christian non-profit organization committed to expressing a living and tangible response to those commandments that Jesus called greatest: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength," and "Love your neighbor as yourself.”
It is our conviction that the Spirit of God has asked us to make this love concrete in the world, incarnate in our thoughts, our bodies, our lives and our every action. Iris Global exists to participate in bringing the Kingdom of God to earth in all its aspects, but most especially through our particular calling to serve the very poor: the destitute, the lost, the broken and the forgotten.

Hold up. I had to set a boundary with my boss in my workplace because he was taking advantage of me and it was an unhealthy situation in a few different ways. Some boundaries are a good thing!!!
Thank you for this interview. It was absolutely awesome! Very inspiring. It's been a long time since I heard a message/testimony from Surprise Sithole.
This podcast would have landed truer had I not experienced myself the surprisingly callous, ignorant and selfish attitudes from some of the Pemba missionaries “running the show” when I was there some years ago. I could write pages of examples (not just my own) highlighting the disconnect they exhibited between the reality of those actually bound by nationality, poverty and politics to their circumstances and lives in Mozambique, and their own lives which were frequently alleviated by visits home, private areas, sufficient income, and opportunity to relax at the local hotel’s poolside. I don’t begrudge them that at all; I’m just pointing out the huge lack of understanding and empathy they exhibited whilst trying to copycat a prescribed image of what their mission should look like. THIS IS NOT A REFLECTION ON HEIDI OR ROLAND, who were not even there. I’ve never met them but they bear the scars of true worshipers of God Almighty and their lives are an example of real, honest discipleship. You don’t get truer than that and I honour them and others for the choices they’ve made and committed to in our Lord Jesus. But there are huge discrepancies between what the missionaries lived and preached with what went on at the base in Pemba (Zimpeto had a different “flavour”, much more real). What distressed me most was the feeling of despairing abandonment, neglect, disrespect and disregard the LOCAL people (staff/volunteers/recipients) felt from the foreign staff. I speak fluent Portuguese having been raised in Mozambique and Brazil, among other countries (I was born in Uganda) so I was able to communicate across the board, either in Portuguese or through a Portuguese speaking translator into Macua. From local staff to the locals associated with the Pemba base, there was heartbreak, rejection and a feeling of isolation and despair. Their general feeling was that they “had no voice”; that they were of little consequence to those “in charge”. From the “least” of them to the people of “higher standing”, it was the same. I tried to communicate this and get involved but was greeted with cold shoulders and frosty glares from the missionaries. Even when I emailed afterwards and asked if I could communicate some of the disturbing things I’d seen and experienced and listened to while at Pemba (including of one missionary man who was known by the young local men helping with the water line to be inappropriately “favouring” the girl children while fiercely rejecting any boy who tried to get close; the young men thought this was funny because in the subculture of their culture there is no real issue with grown men fondling underage girls) - I got no response from Iris. I understand that there is little time to spend on “complaints” and “grumbling” coming from those who are NOT “in action” on the front lines. However, it is irresponsible and short-sighted to ignore communications and genuine attempts to warn, check, help, alert and enrich the mission of any Christian endeavour. At the very least, there should have been someone willing to listen and assess. To conclude, I’d just like to say that I was delighted to hear that the Mozambicans are now in a position to carry the mission themselves, that Heidi and Roland are still able, willing and happy to remain amongst their beloved people, and that the seed that they, along with others, planted so sacrificially has survived by God’s grace and faithfulness and is proving itself in these seriously dangerous times.
Literally couldn't watch because the dude took 20 minutes to say absolutely nothing . . Skipped through interview just blabbing about absolutely nothing for so long . . Sorry couldn't watch . . Was probably the worst interview I have ever attempted to watch . . .
It is always very warming to hear people talk about places of my city & country (Maputo, Mozambique) and about the things The Lord is doing here that we're not even aware of ❤ As a part of the body of Christ in 🇲🇿 I say: thank you for your work! 🫂 Surely, the Name of The Lord is being glorified!! May God continue to give favor to this Movement (Irish Global) and to every soul involved 🙏🏾
The first time i meet him was unexplainable mind blowing, humble man, and now i have been in his church for almost 5 years. He truly loves his flock. We live in WhiteRiver Mpumalanga South Africa 🇿🇦
The body of Christ holding hands and working together outside the walks of denominations and movements = casting nets. Why did that connection just make sense?
The session with Mama Heidi, the students, Pastor Surprise and Mama Tryphina was on another level spiritually. Thank God I made it out the next day of October 7th. I am forever grateful to God. Chanelle Brown
Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha), South Africa. What a powerful message!! Warms my heart to see all the South Africans here. Lord knows our country needs Jesus! For those that are interested there is a site called "Southern Tip of Africa Fire Prophecy" that has a collection of the prophetic word for South Africa since 1908.
