@@McArtshy I think there is always a place for upstart but you’d need a build specific to upstart and cards you don’t want get cut. I have seen a build with four draw traps that I think is better bc now you can pseudo starlight and still get similar effects.
I was trying to build my max rarity collection slowly since 2020 but it gets really out of hand very very fast. I'm grateful for what I have but these prices are getting crazy
@@diomede75 I think lp were $38? I already forget. But I’d believe it’s entirely possible to get them at $30 plus shipping for lp. Probably from different sellers but maybe not now since the format is reaaallllly taking off
i dont think HAT is a good format in the mid or longrun, it has alot of 70/30 and 80/20 match ups based on the archtype stats which seems horrible for competitive play. alot of people talking about prices and hype but not really try to convinced that its a good format. and i dont like that you hold out a route by saying "buy it cheap now" and make the FOMO feeling even stronger
@@rogue_to_competitive I personally prefer Vegas to hat but in the several hat matches I have played, I’ve been enjoying it more than Edison or goat. If you already plan to get into the format, like many are, get cards now for sure. No reason to wait before everything is out of reach. Catch 22 for sure.
@@ma.2099 that just supports the bubble that arises, and there was a similar bubble with tengu before. i would recommend testing the format first, see if it fits you before buying blindly the ultis from the market. sure you can miss out but can also sit on the cards as soon as the hype is going down again when it doesnt reach the point you expect
@@SolracXCV that might be considered the higher rarity. Not sure. Many like that more than OG. A lot of players prefer OG rarities available to the format.
It's a good thing for smart sellers and short investors , a bad thing for people suffering FOMO. There is still too much confusion on retro formats to invest efficently on specific formats outside Goat and Edison. The HAT train has nothing to do about the format itself and its gameplay (it has been actively played for the last 3 years and we already know its pros and cons) so the risk of pumping a big bubble is not low.
@@ma.2099 You can invest only when you are in a good position. For example: I bought 12x Ancient Forest last year for circa 1€ each and now I sold 9 of them for 9€ each. At the same time I bought 3 playsets of Sphere of Chaos for 30€ and i'm still sitting on them. Only time you really hit the jackpot is when Konami decides to make a new tier1 archetype with retroformat cards. Example: I had 3x Trident Dragion ULT and sold 2x of them (and I gifted the last one to my friend)
Nice video! This brings back a lot of memories! This was my favorite deck in 2014 I have some thoughts/questions about the deck and would like to hear your thoughts: Have you considered Influence Dragon? I run it instead of Corsesca. Leo's not worth playing otherwise I think 2 Drain is fine, but while MST isn't common like you mentioned, there is a lot of S/T removal in the format between Ignition, Double Cyclone, and Wiretap. Have you considered a 2nd Mythic Water? I think people now play just 1 to minimize dead draws, but 2 copies was common in 2014 so you could still search the 2nd with Tidal if you Trade-In'd the first. Have you thought about Decree? I thought it was super good to side against Geargia and HAT back in 2014 Hieratic Sun Dragon Heliopolis is really good because it doesn't target and doesn't tribute for cost. Definitely a staple. Scrap Dragon is likewise really good and probably a staple. It pairs well with Soul Charge and Card Trooper Crimson Blader is also really good for the mirror and Sylvans. It doesn't come up too often but is probably worth playing. Same with a 2nd Felgrand. I think all of those come up more often than Gaia Charger, Master of Blades, Chain, Colossal, and Dweller
@@alpha0peanut11 yooo! Hope you’re good and flights weren’t too bad for you haha. Yes! The dracos are clean! First ones I’ve ever had and glad I have them now! Get them while they are CHEAP.
BLS isn't that bad in this format because priority is gone. Lots of decks are jamming in big boss monsters but they're ALL hindered due to lack of priority. I think as the format gets more refined; lots of people will be cutting these boss monsters depending on the deck
@@brianlauria great point! This is pretty close to the time where big random beaters stop making it into lists in favor of more consistency which wins more than a random BLS or DAD
Yo Ma glad to see you in Vegas! I just started this format again at the start of the month, been loving it so far. My locals is starting to play this format which is great because I have cards still from when I played them back then. Currently a good variety of decks are able to top (even Battlin’ Boxers c;) which is refreshing. And no dustshoot!
@@BeastBeatsYGO the entire banlist was pretty refreshing to see! All the cards we complained about in Edison are finally gone! Having two locals a week of Edison and Vegas would be the dream
Always love to see more love for more obscure formats! If people want some older formats that are pretty good, I really enjoy Yata Format and Warrior Format. Even if people think they won't like DM era formats, I think those two can be surprisingly engaging and intense, with a lot of potential for deck building and new ideas.
I only see local tournaments for Edison format. There used to be a goat format at my locals but they changed it to Edison. I’d love to play other formats in real life but it’s hard to get people to agree on what format to play.
@@bobbybero7452 yup! It always starts with an online following. While playing one format such as goat or Edison is easy, it still takes time to collect all cards for all decks. Adding new formats can be tough for players. Most players can’t really handle more than one format, usually two at most. If a big time yugituber made it their goal for Vegas format to start popping, then they could make that happen by just pushing the format. Once people start buying irl cards, then it’s on! Vegas is the next format after Edison that I would play
At 11:21 , why could the normal summoned secutor summon two monsters after attacking? I mean it wasn't special summoned by a glad so why are you able to activate its effect? Thank you
I’ve literally been playing Spartacus and his fusion since GB’s 1st arrived and everyone laughed at me and still does 😂 but for some reason I’ve always had to play him…. Gaiodiaz was always my favorite stardust dragon killer. In 1 regional I had 2 GB on the field…I played cold wave then tribute 1 GB for Spartacus then contact into his fusion, ran over stardust and they took 100 from the attack and his effect did 2000, then I tagged out for fishy and beastie popped his last monster and 1 back row, contacted and popped his last 2 back row and ended my turn… he had no cards in hand and scooped right away lol best part was a few people were watching our match and when I brought out Gaiodiaz everyone was like WTF is that thing 😂 😂 😂 Side note: I played hedge guard in the deck as well, it’s a good hand trap that 1/2’s your monsters attack but makes so they can’t be destroyed in battle, and it works in offense or defense
It was pretty awesome seeing this video all of a sudden because just last night I was at a local and some people were asking why I played those cards, and I said well I’ve been playing them since they first came out and somehow they always work out for me. I’m just glad my boys Spartacus and Gaiodiaz are FINALLY getting some love for people the than me lol😅
I think you might forget that you can play lightsworn/mill cards including Hamster/Ryko and SUMMONER MONK to use the spell and grab Rescue Cat... Idk mess around with it.
You don't need Call of the Haunted in this build, correct... However PRISMA COULD STILL BE USEFUL... I like MORE THAN 40 with Spartacus... cuz you are less likely to draw him PLAY THREE PROVING GROUND SO YOU CAN SEARCH HOPLOMUS and go into Spartacus easier.
MAYBE YOU COULD CONSIDER MAINDECK DUST TORNADO OR EVEN TRAP STUN IN ORDER TO DEFEND AGAINST D. PRISON/COMPULSE/ETC. I think Archfiend Shield is good at 1 btw, Battle Halberd in the side...
BTW SPARTACUS IS BEST IN LOW-RESOURCE GAMESTATES... KEEP THAT IN MIND So in order to build your deck to try and create low-resource gamestates... MAYBE cards like Ancient Forest are good for stalling, and even Torrential/Gorz at least in the side deck (even though they are not traditional Glad Beast cards)
I side all of those cards atm. Still a work in progress so I can’t say what my solid side plan would be. It’s why I don’t post my sides bc they change every day
Hey idk why my other comment didn't post but I have been building Spartacus lists for YEARS and commenting about them in comment sections and I wish I could get on and cook with you maybe My username is threshold with an underscore before and after _ threshold _ I HAVE ANOTHER SPECIAL IDEA AS WELL btw for a hybrid deck but I will say that later
My deck with GB Spartacus was on a replay with a youtuber. I did win and beat .. I think Amarylis but the Spartacus ver makes me sad cuz of bricking on him or drawing all the equips before even using Spartacus. I tried using cards like Gladiators return, indomitable gladiator, and gladiator beast respite but i couldnt find a golden ratio.. =/
Not sure there is a golden ratio. It’s just what happens when you play Yugioh and happens to every deck. Sometimes you draw the combo pieces and not the enabler which is tough.
