First of all…. The Dune quote???? Epic. And also thank you for saying in your intro “I’m about to give you EVERYTHING “ and not picking the low hanging fruit and saying “I’m about to give you what you want, what you really really want” ❤❤❤ Edit- Additional comment as i have just reached the 50:39 mark… you just referenced “Troll 2”… are you kidding me??????? You are a king my friend. That movie is nostalgic ambrosia ❤

"My Baby" was on my first CD of The Sky's Gone Out" in the mid 90's as a hidden track. I suppose they removed it from later versions. It's producer Derek Thompkins quoting a play that he liked, I just can't recall which one. Maybe he was the only one who knew. It was half my life ago that I heard about this, but I want to say he felt a similar way about his daughter. My guess is that it was his form of a soundcheck for the equipment and because he was like a 5th member of the band for Bauhaus, they added it onto the recordings. Thompkins was a mentor figure for the band the way Geroge Martin was to The Beatles-- at least that's what I have come to believe. I've been collecting Bauhaus lore since about 1995.

41:55 Destination Calabria or Destination Unknown is based on sample from 2003 track "Rune - Calabria" so it perfectly fits in that timespawn. I guess they might had inspiration from it.

As a Slowdive fan I appreciate JFAD but let’s be honest: the sound is a bit undeveloped compared with their later output. It’s only fitting that the band has even admitted the album was barely written and sort of rushed during the recording. Good songs but not as good as Souvlaki and Pygmalion by a long shot. “Hide Yer Eyes” is really where the fun begins.

As an American who got to roll around Europe in the late 90s and early 00s it was truly a special time when a lot of talent came up in House, Electronic, Dance - some of it I can’t remember too well being pretty jazzed up when in the clubs but damn it was fun.

Comparing the Spice Girls to "Friends" isn't a fair comparison. TSG only dominated the world for 2 years whereas "Friends" did for a decade. Add to that, syndication and reruns, television has a much easier time staying relevant and a better chance at coming back than music does. It's like the Beatles. They were just as big as TSG at in their time but are seldom spoken of today. Their cultural impact isn't any less, it's simply harder for music to keep up. Perhaps it is because we have easier access to it on a much more regular basis (cars, headphones, being out and about) so we become oversaturated and move past it faster whereas watching something is an active decision which happens much less frequently.

It's so weirdly off-putting, the whole aura of the release. The low pitch of the valerie loop, the incessancy of the "everybody" vocals mixed with the cover makes it feel like the product of some dystopian future. Apparently, he just ripped and cropped it from the EP, "Almost Red" by post-punk group, Killing Joke

This is what happens when people absolutely hate their jobs. They just quit. Typically they don't put in a two weeks notice. Geri did exactly what the majority of people would do when they are so fed up with a job/career.

i was reading bernard's book recently and he said something along the lines of thinking that the songs on unknown pleasures were not as intense as they were meant to be. not as "punk" sounding i suppose. now i can see what he means when i listen to some of those songs on the warsaw bootleg.

I’m liking the history of Slowdive. They sound like such a train wreck much of the time yet occasionally there’s a piece of a track which I find utterly gripping I’m going to plunder. Why do I care? I’m already a refugee from popular rock etc because of Mark Devlin. I found refuge in Loveless. I’m keen to learn more and Slowdive was an inevitability for me. I’m reassured. They are utterly genuine and anything brilliant is going to be honest. There’s nothing more important for me at the moment, other than the music of course than honesty. I want to hear what the band created. Not some slime ball pro globalist cnut.

In the large scheme of things...in hindsight I have every reason to believe that there were forces at play thst desperately wanted Victoria and Beckham to split up keeping her busy with this crap while he was lonely in Madrid and she was in and out of London and USA and Spain. She was Being invited to top events due to her a list celebrity profile and given billboards at times square and doing the most raunchy photo shoots. Also in one video i saw her sitting on some black guy's lap during her tkme in the recording studio to give a really ghetto vibe reducing her as a caricature of arm candyz gold digger. I know bizzare right? So uncharacteristic of posh. I think they were saved by some miracle ..and when she mentions in their latest documentary how they were against esch other..no doubt they had become aware of David's philandering and msybe her songs About asking a man to commit does have some of that snget hidden in there some how. and sinxe David literally folllows every career move of hers he would have seen her behaving in the Way she did and gotten really pissed off. To continue his affair with his assistant who also was specially engineered to be put there to see how environmental pressures can work in favor of them behaving in psychological tested behaviors under certain stressers. A lot was said in that documentary without explicitly stating all this but those who were following them closely, fans and family and friends. Wluld pick up on these Little moments that provide a lot of context to those turbulent times .i am so glad that they chose their priorities snd sacrificed at their end what was most dear to them to make the marriage survive and came out stronger 💪🏻 God bless and protect the Beckhams . As for the Rockefellers..that family is notorious and would work in the interest of British establishment which of course was as threatened of Diana as they were of the spice Girls and then the Beckhams. Who made the right choice.by moving to the USA away from the toxic miserable soulless monsters who tear families apart just so they can profit of the individual celebrities by hooking them up with famous people and being less careful about their spending and investment Patterns . that's why Hollywood is so full of divorces. They don't like couples who have a lot of wealth and are monitoring and investing it carefully..a broken Single person is easiere for them to rinse snd exploit and profit of in all sorts of ways.

Here is a deeo analysis why I have come to believe that the spice girls were not given their due initially after their success they were mocked for thejr music and the press had already turned on them by 97 end. Why? Cuz they hsd simply become too powerful thst the Establishment didn't kike that..the way Diana hsd power who had the most press afrer Diana it was the spice girls.. Read on: Ofcourse they were considered cool... The spice girls were not only cool they were so hot they were on fire. Everything they touched turned to gold. They had been together since 1994-1998 as a 5 piece.. a duration where they were absolutely untouchable attaining world domination in the 90s age of tv channels and everyone From 6 to 60 in every where in the world knew atleast one or more of them .. my grandma' parents everyone in my school was super into them during the brief period of their peak in the 90s. Everyone would come to school with their tapes , official magazines, lollipops.. and discussed their latest videos and their looks . The time when even elder teens thought of them were cool was mainly 97...my brother who was a hardcore Rock guns n roses nirvana fan, had their poster on his wall before going full Rock. Sadly that quickly changed... Mainly I believe now that the British press have a lot of problems with any entity who overshadows the establishment of the primary royals.. they were relentless the moment the girls honored Diana And subsequent parting with the management they started getting bad press eventually leading to Geri splitting by when everyone started seeing them more for the headlines than the music.. the world tour 98 was pure electricity in a bottle. They were on fire.. best show ever . It was a mammoth success which could have gone on further but in hindsight I feel it was time.. I'll just tell you why All saints had some good songs . Sure but epic songs were not on album one.. they mainly found their way Riding off of established char busters covering under the bridge snd Lady marmalade through the power of their label purchasing those rights. Never ever was good but a little slow.. they really did their best work on the second album singles pure shores and black coffee heralded by William Orbit.. who was the hottest producer of the time And all saints girls were dating Robbie Williams and Oasis boys. So they found connections to work with some top tier producers that came up with a very lush pop song that sounds best on record.. less so live.. and black coffee too no doubt some of their accomplished work which finally gave them their Little moment to shine once the spotlight was finally off the spices with two of them giving birth the rest starting their solo careers. So Mel C s first album Northern star ⭐ is a gem with some of the best musical and lyrical gems and vocals in all spice girls discography.. it's what you hoped spcie girls could have achieved putting in their musical influence and almost all of them mustering uo atleast one or more chart toppers thst the public adored.. sadly the spices were during that time written off solo and group and painted out of be sellout and only for kids.. because I believe whoever has the most money and connections hold the most pwoerr . That illusion and spell of spice Girls being untouchable in the public's mind had to be broken daily incessantly by the press to shift power balance back to where it was supposed to belong.. while I respect and enjoy the all saints songs .. they sre not as pretty especially after aging. And I don't think any of them are as talented and have personalities like the spice girls . They are a bit bland and got split up over a jacket..and they trashed spice girls plenty.. Mel B actually beat up shaznay in some toilet.. wonder why nic didn't ask her. They were friends since 97 . Mainly Emma and Mel B hung out a lot with the saints girls at the met bar which was the it place of UK at the time and they all got up to some pretty scandalous stuff that stay's betweens them. Spices got used but also learnt very well how to play the Media.. they are the oGs and almost the pioneer of modern tabloid press culture

What an ace video. There is a lot of bits in there which I didn’t know about. The Red Kult was the first version I heard of, so it’s good to know the full story, thank you. I was aware of the mix name Retarded Funk due to buying the UK CD Single, but I never spotted that they made their own track on Discogs. At 24:36 , this track is Groovy 69 ‘Stardust Medley With Dust’ [ZYX]. Spacedust ‘Music Feels Good With You’ is just a beefed up remix of ‘Music Sounds Better With You’. Aquarius is another pseudonym for Spacedust so they ripped off their own track on ‘Let’s Get Down’, although the rest of the album rips also off Yellow (Racer), Daddy’s Favourite (Good Things), which the latter was officially released on the 1999 remix package on Go.Beat, along with a couple from another French maestro, Alan Braxe.
