Well, another "One Off" MCM home bites the dust for the ticky-tacky homes....🙄😜. Yeah, this should have been saved because it was a single design house for that site. Using the cliche, it's a Full Custom job. You can't replace it with anything...... Unlike on another "House" channel, those Hollywood kids that tore down and replaced a MCM home with a McMansion.... Who cares. They are young and dumb, pockets full of money and, (sadly) the MCM home they ripped out was , well lets say, one of the Famous Architects "Standardized Design" homes. It unique where it was, but, it's a design he sold All over the Western US, Mexico, South America and now I've heard Australia and South Africa. It's a "Track" house for lack of words and the desgn only varied by Where you wanted the garage, the guest house, pool, and pool house located on the property...... We have say 30 examples we can still go to and look at. I'm NOT throwing any Shade here..... I actually LIKE this concept design he had, because it was a serious workable design and really people/site/environment friendly. AND... It was easy to cost out per house budget, depending on how crazy the buyer wanted to be.... Workable. He was one of L.A.'s top architects from the late 50's through the 80's and he box of these designs, as well as He Did a lot of One Off designs on everything. His name escapes me but look up the uproar of demolition a few months ago.... He knew Neutra, and was one of the crowd in LA....lol! This house should have been saved...... Oh well, what the hell right?😐
I put Worcestershire sauce in meat loaf, hamburger meat, and sometimes salad dressing. I top burgers and steaks with A-1 steak sauce though, amongst other condiments.
I’d so love to see this very interesting historical building, but there is no way I would ever step into the state of California. Way, way, way, too unsafe.
I have read that one of the ways they advertised was by hiring agents to meet ships coming into port from Europe. Every passenger was handed a free bottle as they came off the ship. They then proceeded to wherever their final destination was, distributing the product all over the country. Very smart.
Ken, look into the mansions of former Indianapolis mayor Thomas Taggart. In Hyannisport MA he built a beautiful seaside mansion. The Kennedy family moved in next door. In French Lick Indiana, where he owned the French Lick Springs Hotel. On the second highest elevation in Indiana (Mt Airy) Thomas Taggart built a copy of the Hyannis mansion, this time in brick. Identical mansions, wow now that’s unique. “This House” becomes “These Houses”
Those opening words re pronunciation 😂. I pronounce it woosh shooster sheer, so no one feels the need to 'correct' me, as I'm clearly not being serious.
Thrilled it still exists. Perhaps someone with very deep pockets may buy it and restore it as best they can. Lea & Perins is great on most meats. My fav is grilled chicken & veggies with whipped potatoes. I keep a Jell-O shot container to hold the L & P for dipping the chicken. Great video Ken. Thanks for bringing us along.
A steak is not a steak without Worchester Sauce to marinate with. As far as the house goes, it's very pretty - but let a property developer (like Trump) get his claws into it, and everything turns to crap!
I basically like the sauce in question on pretty much anything. It's really spectacular on a roast beef sandwich with cheese. I am far from a gourmet cook but with things like that sauce, it's easy!
