I know this old post. May 28/24 my mini dachshund at 1 week she is 10 pounds. Second night was her worst and I had gave pain meds only allowed 6 mg dermaxx not from this vet I’m in another state. Anyway. I just comforted her as much as I could. Also I purchased a surgery suit. She didn’t need the cone but every dog is differnt. I’m so happy we are a week out she’s feeling better and hard to keep up with her wanting to play.
I’m living in Mexico( outside of Mexico City) and we take strays off the street and get them sterilized. The wound on the females always opens up, why?
It would be nice to know how to get food in the back of the trap. Unless you have 10' long arms, its impossible. Horrible video. Horribly designed product
My husband is able to reach in and place the food, but I would use my extender-grabber (it cost me less than 2 dollars in my area in Spain) @dmk7799ify in case this idea helps
Cat doesn't look happy. Cone looks uncomfortable. Cats neck went all the way back with come on that can't be nice for the cat. Most can't ain't gonna like it
yeah but unfortunately it’s the most effective way to prevent them from licking the wound. Some cats are smart enough to get the soft collar or recovery suit off
Thanks for the video, I’m a 1st time dog owner I didn’t know what to expect , My dog got spayed yesterday she’s staying overnight at the animal hospital I pick her up in the morning 😢
this is exactly what my vet said AND MORE!!! thank you soso much. my boy got neutered this morning and I’m still shook up about it as he recovers sleeping soundly on my bed :,) thank you again
A couple at least, it greatly helps to put your cat in what's called a "recovery suit". It's basically a body cover so that your cat doesn't lick its wounds. They really are better behaved with the body recovery suit than they are with a cone.
My dog got neutered today and he refuses to keep the cone on and keeps crying. So I had to make do and put a towel around his area so he doesn’t lick it and took off the collar. I hope this will help? I’m a worried mom and he’s also a picky eater and not sure how he’s even gonna wanna eat after this and he needs his strength. Should I try buying liquid protein for dogs?
Gave my cat Nulo for 1 year, at the end of that year she died of a heart disease. Adopted 3 more cats and all of them are on IAMS. I will not risk my babies with grain free. All 3 are healthy. I wish I knew about this before. I thought I was helping my cat giving her grain free food. At this point nobody know the cause of the heart illness, but im not risking it again.
Question I got my 6 month old puppy fix and he have been leaking this creaming looking fluid from his second incision, because only one testicle drop it’s been 3 days after his surgery he is still eating good drinking water, peeing and pooping normal I just worry very much. I called the veterinarian and they say it was OK. Used to keep eye on it and clean it as long as no bleeding. He’s gonna be fine but I believe this shouldn’t be happening.😅
My 7 month old Scottie is getting spayed today. she was so happy this morning and played and went on a walk. It makes me sad knowing it will be a couple weeks before she can play hard again :(
Would anyone have an answer to this my dog was spayed today and shes at home, but i wanted her to sleep in the kitchen i had a mattress on the floor which i was gonna stay down atairs as well just for 3-4 days or so but i went to the bathroom and she opened the door and went upstairs to her usual bed,now i dont know can i let her walk down,or should i carry her or just put stuff down that ahe can go to the toilet on and juat let her stay up,sorry for the paragraph i just genuinely dont know atm
My wife and I just adopted a shelter Pyrenees who’s being fixed before we actually pick her up. I’m sure I’ll get a run down from the vet there, but this video is a great pre-cursor to get prepped for the actual moment… Understanding and preparing for something makes it less intimidating, this video really helped. Thanks a ton!
Be careful everyone, my cat just had to have a collar put on over a small incision for a procedure. Well of course he hated it and would not drink at all, and eat very little. So the 2nd day I took it off and he started eating and drinking well. Now however, he has managed to open the wound from rubbing and scratching it and it is bleeding. Today I put the collar back on him. This time it stays on until the wound heals. It is a nice collar made of cloth, so not stiff. Also not to long. He will just have to learn to eat and drink around it. What ever you do don't take the collar off before you should. Also make sure the collar is not to long on them.
Don't do anything drastic! I felt like immediately taking my Bailey's cone off after surgery. I'm glad I did some research and didn't do that. I gave her plenty of attention and scratches, rubbs on her face. She is recovering well now.
I just neutered my cat today definitely feel like I shouldn’t had but I hope his personality doesn’t change and it kinda make me sick knowing he can’t have baby’s. sometimes you can’t let people encourage you to things it might be deceiving, I love my cat a lot I only want the best for him.
