Gein inspired the film, as well as other films like Psycho. Kleason killed people with a saw around the same time the film came out, and the media connected the two.
@fallenpigeon184 he definitely was..... and dug up bodies and lots of other stuff...but shot his victims. The bits of TCM based around Gein were things like the furniture made of body parts.
Yeah, it was highly regarded as a place to be after a refurb around 1911, that's when all the 'stars' started to appear on the bill. Its breathtalkig, even in its current form. Thanks for watching
I made an attempt (last week in August)at finding it using a map ref from a website about the crash, but i failed to find the exact spot, i was mainly walking to the trig point and another direction from the border on a circular walk starting from the layby on the Lancs Yorks Border, but decided to try and find it as i was near the trigpoint , i failed that time but with a bit more research i think i have found it wearabouts, so i am going to try from Cants clough reservoir soon, it was a sunny day andwas attacked by the midge when i was looking, so that contributed to me giving up the search on the day, i have a v small channel and film my hikes (not uploaded this hike yet), on my next attempt i will film the area but with respect of course
Thanks for the comment. Sadly my video isn't all that great as it was one of my earlier ones. I could have filmed the journey there, and I might re-film it soon. It's really not far from the trig, and I'd suggest easier than going by the reservoir.....but I wish you good luck in the search 👍
the governments of the western world are run by luceferians.so why do people still question why and how people like saville, get into positions o power and become untouchable, how deep does the rabbit hole go.
Now then now then goodness gracious me as it appens ugh ugh jewellery jewellery as you know big Jim has fixed it for you to still be talking about him, ugh ugh guys and gals The best way to suppose what may come, is to remember what is past ugh ugh
Thanks for the adventure. I think water got onto the microphone though. Intro music was normal volume. Stay warm and Thanks again for the cool little adventure.
Great video 👍 we are hoping to go in a few weeks and do some filming ourselves there. Those stairs go on and on I'm not best with heights so will have to see about going to top although the views are amazing.
Thanks for this great video, I love a mine. Only thing I would get a gas meter if you do this again as coal mines can be lethal even outside the entrance . Best of luck.
@DeneMcMylor sure....I wanted to cover a Shopman story as I live in Todmorden, where he started his crimes.....but when I found out he hadn't just murdered old people I found it a more interesting take on the 'story' (if that makes sense). Glad you found it interesting and thanks for watching
Oh wow.....well obviously I hope it hasn't caused any upset in seeing it, nor offence. The stories I tell are always done to ensure it's the victim that's not forgotten, and hopefully that comes across. Thanks again for watching, though I imagine it wasn't an easy one for you 😔
It's probably not a story that's particularly well known..... the haunting I think are more well know. I wonder if I can find someone who thinks they've spotted one? Thanks for watching 😊
I think you will find that Lobb Mill was also a pub ( and mortuary) at some time in the 1800’s. It was called the Haul Inn ( guessing at the spelling - could be Hall Inn.)
@@matparks08 I lived there for a number of years up to the start of the millennium. The stories I was told .indicated that the cellar was used initially as a mortuary ( during the building of the canal) and later as a pub on the ground floor, and a slaughter house in the basement. I was told that the landlord used to heavily salt his meat pies, so that his regulars drank more beer. I opened the first canal side / related business in over 100 years which was called Lobb Mill Chandlers. Sadly, after getting flooded in the Todmorden flood, we were forced to close. I have very fond memories of Lobb Mill and also Tod.
I think this is what's left of where my Great Grandmother was brought up. Her name was Ethel Barker and her father was called Fred Herbert Barker. My mother remembers her Grandmother talking about the Barkers from Burnt acres. We don't have any more information but watching this was amazing thanks for sharing.
It's an extraordinary mill. This video won't do the size of it justice. People I knew who worked there always liked to be given errands to do as it could take a couple of hours out of their day to get from one location to another 🙂
As a mother and grandmother, this video made me very sad and angry, even viewing it through the lens of 150 years or so. Yes, children were used in mills, factories and mines through necessity before there were any kind of universal benefits - it was that or the workhouse. The sort of treatment this horrible individual meted out to defenceless children was absolutely outrageous and the fact that he went unpunished and the little boy's parents had no justice or compensation is sickening. It makes me wish there was such a thing as a time machine. Believe me, I'd be up the road to Halifax at the speed of light and have big, tough Mr Crowther and his strap running for his life.
If you invent it, I'll follow you with my camera. Id like to see that. But, yes,a horrendous human being who should have had a comeuppance but seemingly never did.
We love going to Dean Clough theatre, its awful to think of this satanic history. Im enjoying your videos, even ones with such an awful story as this. Thank you.
@@matparks08 It is, its great to see these places reused. We go to Salts Mill regularly too, Im in no illusion as to its "wondefully benevolent man" reputation, Im sure that it was also a satanic mill
You need better audio brother man. I crank my volume up to hear you and when the adventure is over. Change to a different video and BOOM 💥 my ears are bleeding l8l😂😂😂 Thanks for the adventure and history.
I think the general view of Bret is he's become a cynical grump. He's been through a lot, of course, but seems to just hate everything these days. Diana I don't really know away from her appearances on WWE back in the 90s.
