Our road trip continues with a visit to Dalquaharran Castle near Girvan in South Ayrshire.
Surprisingly, this location actually has two abandoned castles, an older version built in the 17th Century, and another version up the hill built around 1790.
The castle belonged to the Kennedy Family until the 1930s. It was used as a Youth Hostel before being abandoned and its roof removed in the 1960s (which seems to have been a thing at the time due to tax purposes).
