Thanks for the video I figure the pump was where and operated where it was. I work on American vehicles. But for the power steering pump pulley his it with a rubber mallet at the very least. If you don’t have one use a rag as a dampener
Jedna rzecz mnie wkurwia w tym silniku n42b20a dbam rozrzad zmieniony olej na czas wszystko co mozliwe co porobione a jak kupilem pracowal cichutko po kilku latach klepie jak diesel
Unless you did use rtv silicone between the top and bottom time chain cover, it will most likely start to leak over time at the rubber that separate the two covers.
Hello! I can’t find Top dead center. I removed the little panel protecting the flywheel. I can see the hole when rotating the crank. I can’t get the pin into the hole. Please help.. i only have a few days left to do this job..
Hello! Thanks! too good Video. You say that you need to change the timing chain and timing chain tensioner after 150,000 km. Bmw tells me I never need to replace any of this. They say it lasts the entire life of the car. My daughter lost a lot of money because her Bmw 318i N43 Year model 2009, the timing chain skipped a couple of teeth. And the valves hit the piston on 2 out of 4 cylinders, when her Bmw had gone 245000 km. Thanks! from Tommy Bertilsson from Sweden
The average lifespan of this chain and guides is 150kkm in my opinion. I know bmw says something else but the chain tends to stretch and it hits plastic guides pretty hard then they crack, block oil feed and you have a catastrophic failure… preventive maintenance is the best way to go. I’ve seen original 260kkm timings but only once. All depends on how the car is used. The M series engines had a lot better chains and guides. Those were able to handle lifetime of the car. Cheers 🍻
@@gorillaprojectcar yes, true. I will test compression too. But in live data ex camshaft sensor is not working, when cranking engine. Sensor is working, connector was full of oil.. problaly bad wiring or ecu. The old chain and rails were good, but changed anyway to avoid problems.
Posiadam ten silnik u siebie od 2 lat i fakt jak robisz wszystko na czas i dobry olej to podstawa , to faktycznie silnik przyjemny w użytkowaniu aktalulanie 282tys km
I just came across your channel great material. I am in US but just visited Poland. What part of Poland are you from? I have a 95 325i . I need to follow you.
Im from Silesia near Częstochowa. I moved to a village house last year 😁 now I have my own barn that is another money pit for me 🤣 hope you enjoyed your time in Poland 😎
No, I put robię into the spark plug channel because no1 spark is out and I don’t want anything falling inside the cylinder. I hold the valves with a piston 💪
Thanks for video 📹 I have a question, I need to change power steering pump on my Bmw E 87 ,my choice was on Bosch power steering pump, what do you think about quality of Bosch?Because new one power steering pump on dealer Bmw cost 840 euro.
Technically Bosch is one of the good ones. Most of the sensors that are OEM are made by Bosch. Power steering pump should be fine with most brands. The worst thing about choosing the right aftermarket is when it comes to electronic components 😉
@@gorillaprojectcar so I’ve heard but I just installed mine without the straw because I didn’t have one. I installed the seals first and then the valves. I don’t think it did any damage to the new seals
I did it this way mainly due to the AC stuff. I know its possible to move it aside and keep the gas inside the system with front end off but it’s an old POS so anything could happen. Also with 4 cylinder engine it’s not that difficult ;)
I recently found out about this option. Before I translated myself. Next videos will definitely be out with auto English. That will make my life so much easier. Thanks 🙌
Im using some cheap 100L compressor. It pumps 220L per… I can’t remember honestly I think per minute 🤣 it does the job but has to be on constantly. When I got it I wasn’t considering sand blasting yet and it was enough for me. As long as it works I’ll keep it 😁 cheers 🍻
Hmm… leaks yes because someone (me) cracked oil pan and it leaked like crazy so I replaced it. Then it was working fine until recently I turned the car off and could not start it again. Since I have another car and I’m rebuilding a house I don’t have time to look into it so the car sits… it’s hard to justify spending time and/or money on getting that thing started when I also need to spend the time and money on M42 rebuild 😁
If I had to do it I’d get a used one probably. Rebuild is difficult and time consuming and new one could be too expensive. I honestly don’t know the price 😉
I have a very serious issue I want to change the kids after changing the kids and I can cover it very well when I cover it it's strong this same power steering pump
how do you align the flywheel with the locking tool i’ve been turning the crank so much and the tool is just not locking the flywheel what do i do it’s an n42 engine
There is a metal plate you can take off to see better but it just takes practice. My first few times it took me up to 20 minutes not it’s a matter of one minute
Pierścienie w porównaniu do uszczelniaczy padają ultra rzadko
Już nagrywam po polsku 😉 będzie film z naprawy blacharskiej jetty za jakiś czas. Jeden film z całej roboty. Mam nadzieję że do końca kwietnia się z blachą wyrobię 😁💪
