Great tips! I use a Sony A7C II and I love the camera but I really hate its rolling shutter especially now that I started creating youtube videos. I will try the crop mode to see if that helps. Thanks for sharing!
@@dumspyrospero thanks for supporting 😊 The rolling shutter will improve a lot especially if you use a longer lens. Let me know your thoughts after you tried!
I didn't know about the bright monitoring - great tip. FYI - the mechanical shutter is not fully mechanical. It's still EFCS with the 2nd curtain mechanical. Touch focus is great tip too!
Don't know how this hasn't been mentioned yet, but Active and Dynamic Active Steadyshot does not work with third party lenses like the Sigma used in this video.
This is what I really wanna know. Plan to buy a6700 combo lenses either sigma 18 50mm or Sony 16 55mm. If active steadyshot work only with Sony with great stabilizer I'll gonna get Sony lenses instead. But I can't find much people review/verify about that statement
I've tested dynamic active steadyshot with the Tamron 28-200 lens (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qlBKfeyu5Os.html), you can see clearly it works better than standard and active steadyshot.
@@ConstantineSPhotography thanks for sharing. I had watch the whole clip, from what I see, Sony "standard", "active" and "dynamic" steadyshot seem work across 3rd party lenses? Just different degree of stabilizing effect. Because other said it's not working, thus draw my attention of getting Sony lenses instead Base in that, I could just get cheaper almost 3x price of sigma 18-50mm instead of Sony 16-55G.
Zve1 from 640 to 12800, it's 4+ stops. A7c2 from 3200 to 12800, it's 2 stops. No wonder Zve1 is noiser than A7c2 between 5000 and 10000. Thanks for the comparison. A7c2 dual base iso looks more useful to me.
I sold my a7rv for this camera for the same reason as yours and I couldn't be happier. It really makes a huge difference on a daily basis. It's just a perfect everyday/travel size camera while still has plenty enough photo/video performance. I didn't like the 1.5x crop at first either, but I feel like it's not that big of a deal once you get used to it, plus I actually found it very useful as I constantly use it to get a closer focal length lol, and the best thing is you still get the full 4k resolution. For vlogging I just use a very wild lens and it works out perfectly. You're really getting a lot for the price.
Thanks for sharing, I'm glad to hear that. For those who don't need 2 card slots, a7cii makes most sense in every aspect. I also tried using it as a vlogging camera, and it works pretty well, stabilization and everything are amazing.
Here's review video of this lens: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BLWiryjIIr0.html You can see the sample images and decide whether they're good enough for you
I will go for the ZV-e2 or next Sony A7SIV (if this is the case, I will sell my Sony A7CII, and my Sony ZV-e10)... I just need the sensor, dynamic stabilization from Sony ZV-e1 and a great mechanical obturador!
Love to see the compact lenses video! I’m personally looking to get the a7cii with a zoom lens. Leaning to the sigma 28-70 would love to hear your feedback and experience with that lens!
Excellent video. I've been watching reviews of both cameras all day, but I made my decision after watching yours. I decided to get the Samyang, due to the increased contrast. The Viltrox produces quite a "washed out" image when there are high contrast scenes (ie white sky or bright streetlights). Thank-you for this!
Thank you very much, I'm really glad you find it helpful. I didn't notice the low contrast look when I reviewed the Viltrox lens alone, but when compared with the Samyang lens, it's quite obvious.
@@amomam.official it’s not as fast as Sony’s native lens, but it’s fast enough. I have a full review video, please check it out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zkDttMMd56o.htmlsi=tHAzHoUyMViUY8Eb
great video this is what separates the average from the best. going that extra step so many nuances which just showed off every angle for the tests . it was very helpful thanks from the UK.
I don't understand about the "catalyst browse" you said. Is that a setting in the ZV-E10? Or does it has something to do with your 18-105 mm lens? I only have the kit lens.
@@ConstantineSPhotographyThank you very much for the response, I just picked it up and is very happy with the results I’m getting. Also when you took the real life photo samples do you shoot it at manual, aperture priority or shutter priority? I have my auto iso set at 100-5000 and sometimes it will jump to 5000 even at moderate lighting at the widest aperture for the focal length.Thank you^^
Congrats for the new lens! I'm glad you like it. I like to shoot in manual mode because the same thing happened to me. When I use my ZVE10 I think iso3200 is pretty much the limit. If you still want to shoot with auto ISO, you can set your maximum ISO number so that it won't go crazily high.
@@ConstantineSPhotography Oh okay thanks for the advice, will cap out the auto iso at 3200 and is it normal that when changing aperture there is some sound coming out of the lens(very quiet) and some light vibrations. Thanks very much this is my first time owning a camera so am not sure if it is normal.
@@Jerry-ex5hy it is normal that when you change the aperture, the light will also change. When you use a large aperture (small F number), it will be brighter, and the depth of field will be shallower. As for the sound, I think it is possible, when you change the aperture, the focus is hunting and thus the focus noise.
Nice video! I have one question, when I used A7M4, I used to have a special PP setting with slog3, such as color shifts and sharpness, I found that to work better with my luts compare to the original slog3 PP. However, with ZVE1, when I enable the in-camera LUT, I lose all controls over the original color profile like sharpness. Do you know any way to resolve this?
Personally I find the official video of ZVE10 ii a bit disappointing. It emphasize too much on creative look, while other features (10bit 4:2:2, 4k60p) are much more important. Anyone feels the same way?
However, it turns out that Sony has the ability to provide part of the AI focus to the ZVE10 II without an AI chip. This is surprising to me, because the A1 does not have an AI chip, so why not update the latest Ai focus from the firmware?
If you need to take photos and will use it for 5 years, then 6700. If you want to pursue new technology and replace it with a new one after 2 years of use, then ZVE10 II.
@@CLtech05 Oh, I mean if you buy the A6700, you can get enough new technology for the next five years in one go, but if you buy the ZVE10 II, you need to buy a new every two years to get the technology of today's A6700. It should be about the same, ZVE10 III will add 4K 120 and AI focus, ZVE10 IV will add IBIS。
@@user-bv4zy4kj5g ohh I get you. I was just talking that with my friend, this camera is kind of a camera for a first world country, where you can say , I will buy this cause I am saving 200's dollar then buy the next one when it come out. I live in a third world country and I can';t afford to buy equipment to replace in like 2 years , heck no I would rather sacrifice and put the few extra dollars in the a6700
The one I'm currently using is Kingston 128GB SDXC V90 300MB/s card, but I heard some bad reviews about the Kingston brand. I think you can try Sandisk V90 card, it's supposed to have better performance.
I was expecting to upgrade my ZV-E10 to Mark 2 because I wanted full usb-streaming features, but the overheating issues Gerald Undone has found about that + the lack of mechanical shutter has convinced me to stay with my good ol' Mark 1 since I'm very happy with its results even being 8bit. If I decide I need an upgrade in the near future I'll break my piggy bank and go for the A7CII, because it's the only Sony compact camera that I can enjoy and do whatever I want in any condition without thinking of megapixels, overheating, low light or whatever.
just turn off USB-C charging and you can stream until the battery dies out. my zv-e1 overheated in 30 mins while streaming with USB-C with charging on. after I turned it off, i got 1hr20mins+ (battery died).
@theendurance thanks for the tip, I believe many would find it helpful! @Mandelrot I agree a7cii is the whole package. If it has 4k120p and dynamic active steadyshot it's be a perfect camera. But now I'm already satisfied with it.
As an original ZV-E10 owner as my main camera, I think even though I am 90% vlogging, the A6700 is a good choice. I will shoot more photos with it since it has a viewfinder. I'm currently using my cellphone for photos because I do minor edits to .jpgs. This might change but probably not because I prefer to spend more time color grading video. Maybe for select photos. Plus, I see myself shooting photos with the viewfinder at events and feeling comfortable, then turning the camera around and doing some vlogging.
@@timbrowntown I think it makes perfect sense to use the a6700 as a vlogging camera. It’s got better stabilization, which is an important feature that the zve10 1and 2 lack
@@ConstantineSPhotography I’ve compared the video footage with the same lens and settings and on my unit I’m getting a stronger greenish hue.Don’t know why maybe it’s the characteristic of my particular camera. Thanks for your reply , appreciate it .Good luck.
@@ConstantineSPhotography I may be lucky, but I haven't experienced the "wash." Probably because of the reviews, Pergear enclosed a free hood and I keep the hood on it. Both to shade it and to protect it because I don't have a filter on it. BTW, I also have the 7 Artisans 25mm f/1.8, which is just as sharp but, has much worse vignetting.
@@ConstantineSPhotography The 7 Artisans lens is a very good lens, the main thing I have against it is the clickless aperture ring-- I'm old school on those.
@@user-ky9es9nw6o Cool! I’ve never tried an adapter like that. For the shift function, I think wider focal length would be more useful, but the tilt 50mm works fine.
