For previous stabilization test take a look at this one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sKQ2_bczSho.html

I have a Tamron 28-75mm on a zv-e1 and have always found stabilisation when walking to be poor even at 28mm with dynamic active. I was curious if the Sony lenses could do better. Thanks for testing it out.

Thanks for supporting! I think sony lens dynamic active steadyshot walking looks alright even at 50mm.

Do your like zoom button on 18-105?
@ConstantineSPhotography
@ConstantineSPhotography 6 месяцев назад
It's quite useful. It's a power zoom button that allows you to zoom in or out at the same speed. And by pushing the button, you don't have to turn the zoom ring.

Thanks for the test! Therefore, to shoot a walking-shoot video with best stabilization performance, we should stick with Sony's native lens. Even the cheap 50mm f1.8 lens excels Tamron 28-75 f2.8 and Sigma 28-70 f2.8 in stabilization. I speculate that sony 24-105g OSS f4 better than 20-70 f4 g lens in stabilization, hopefully somebody can compare those two lenses

I don’t have these two lenses to test, but I doubt OSS is going to perform better. OSS might conflict with dynamic active steadyshot.

I had both Sony lenses and found the 24-105 is not that much better in active steadyshot. Though it has lens stabilization.

I've always find your videos a great source on real world experience in using the ZV-E1.The other reviewers tend to focus on features but not day to day considerations of using this camera. Appreciate the good work! About the 18mm to 105mm F4 APS-C lens, does it work well with the ZV-E1 with Dynamic Active turned on? I am considering the 35-150mm from Tamron/Samyang but if Sony's stabilisation work better and the crop factor in dynamic active cancels out the APS-C vignetting, the 18-105mm might be a better choice for me. Like to hear your thoughts on this.

I'm glad to hear that, really appreciate it! If you mainly shoot videos, Sony 18-105 is quite suitable (it still show vignetting sometimes, but not a lot, you can crop it in post). But if you also take photos, I have to say ZVE1 + apsc lens for photo is not good.

@@ConstantineSPhotography Thanks. Overall I find ZV-E1 photo capability quite lacking due to the 12mp sensor, so ya, the APS-C crop will make matters worse lol.

Yeah you don't have room to crop and the quality doesn't look that good.

Sony seems like to not support very well for sigma lens. based on your footages, existing lag a little bit with sigma lens.

Do you mean the jittering when rotating the lens?
@dinovideomaking
@dinovideomaking 6 месяцев назад
@@ConstantineSPhotographyno, I meant I can see more vibration during walk test on sigma especially fast walk.
@wakeywarrior

I did the same tests and found the Sony lenses have less jitter. Dynamic Active works best though when walking straight forward. Panning around a lot is not as good. With a non Sony prime setting the lens length in the menu helps.
@ConstantineSPhotography

I haven't tried setting the lens length in the menu, I'll look into it, thanks for sharing!

Can we use 1/25 shutter speed and dinamic stabilization in the night on tripod without artefacts? I need use APC lens in the night with long shutter speed on zv-e1
@ConstantineSPhotography
@ConstantineSPhotography 6 месяцев назад
1/25 shutter speed would make your video look a bit frozen in the frame. It won't be smooth because the frame rate isn't enough. And it's not recommended to use any stabilization on tripod.

It is a pity, you need to buy the current lens for good stabilisation. I love the Sigma. The only way to use it, just put on tripod.
@ConstantineSPhotography
@ConstantineSPhotography 6 месяцев назад
That would be a big waste of zve1's dynamic active steadyshot!

@@ConstantineSPhotography i know, but thank you for your efforts to clarify about non native lens stabilisation issue. It is overrated. You have shown how to shoot it more stable, and you can edit it in post production. Still people are so concern about the small jitters.. owh there are also gimbals. Anyway love your content and i do shoot handheld with Sony camera. Keep it up.

Thanks, I think for walking shot on third-party lenses, you have to use wider angle lens, but for other movements, they work just fine (but of course it takes some practice)

I'm an amateur hobbyist and uses the Sigma 28-70 a lot over my Sony 20mm F1.8 as I like the compressed look of longer focal ranges. I had the same experience as @constantineSphotography - the Sigma does have sudden jerks and bumps if you are not very careful. I bought a RS3 mini gimbal as well but hardly get to use it due to the added weight and hassle. Thanks Constantine for the video. It does help me in my decision to sell the Sony 20mm - maybe I should sell the Sigma and get the Sony 24-70 instead.

@@uncaloke i’m also considering 24-70mm GMii. But now now as the price is really expensive for my hobby. I just bought Meike 85mm 1.8 to complement my 20-70mm f4. For the moment i’m going to enjoy this lenses before i could buy the sony GMII..
