I make bass covers, mostly of 60s and 70s rock deep cuts, and occasionally upload other music for archival purposes and/or my own enjoyment. I'm a massive Gibson bass lover and I'm not afraid to use mine to give any song the MUD TREATMENT. Have a listen, I'm sure you'll love it! I learn almost everything I play by ear and often put a bit of my own spin on things.
Comments are very welcome, say what you think or ask me anything!
My recording setup - exactly what you're hearing in my videos: - bass - 1971 Gibson EB-3 2022 Epiphone EB-0 modded with splittable Artec pickup - going into - Vox Stomplab 2B multifx Focusrite Scarlett Solo interface
@@toneyisaiah3556 It's an Artec alnico V mudbucker copy, costs about $40 on ebay. For such a low price it kicks ass and comes very close to an original Gibson pickup, the stock Epi pickups are easily the worst thing about the bass.
You're right, tho I'm a bit lazy to retune and losing the string tension hurts the playability, so I prefer to figure out how to play stuff in E standard or sometimes just pitch shift the track instead. It would've been nice to be able to hold that open F# on this specific song, though. :D
Thanks! I don't know, to be frank, these were freshly strung on the bass when I bought it. I think they might be good ol D'Addario nickel wounds. I've recently replaced them with LaBella flats.
Very nice playing and tone. Felix was an excellent bass player and songwriter and producer. I like the songs that you are posting. I play many of the same songs as you.
@@torchmusic27 Yes, I play Mountain, Sabbath, Cream, Trower, Allman Bros, Hendrix, SRV, Santana, Deep Purple and Bob Marley for a little variety. Keep up the great playing.
