They can and will work but you have to be aware that doing so will void their warranty that’s if you tell them you spliced. Of course you wouldn’t do that right? lol
Yes you can do accent lighting with your lights. You have to activate the shared DIYs by pressing the plus symbol, then display management then find your DIY
The app was just recently updated a few days ago and no most of the videos I have don’t help so I apologize. I’ll update more videos soon. Yes you can shut individual light by bringing the speed down and use the red slash as way to shut off lights
@@jbsdiytv thank you but did not work that way.. i was having issues with that off button as it was not responding. If you can make a Video that helps a lot of people as people started to buy from Costco ❤️😊
The devices say they are waterproof but I will not expose the devices to the elements. I open the soffit electrical outlets and placed them in the cavity and just stub out the plug to connect them
Have you seen it where you take the pro lights you make a custom jump and the yellows are orange colors don’t come through like the other strands? I’m having that issue and have used your same products suggested for custom jumps. Please help, love your videos by the way!
@@jbsdiytv thank you for your reply. I have the Govee pro 200ft set and after the LED driver module the orange colors are more yellow. I disconnected the driver and connected all the strands and it still did the same thing unfortunately. I was wondering if it was because I did custom jumps like what you show in your videos. Just wondering if you’ve seen this issue before?
@@jbsdiytv I have two custom jumps after the driver module, an 8’ and also a 15’. I wonder if it’s the driver module itself gone bad because the issue seems to be after the driver.
@dbmimo did you use a Govee extension and splice in between it with the 18/3 wire for the 15ft? Did you place the led driver module after at least 50 lights
Hey brotha, nice work! Just curious to know what was the starting point? Where did the first strand of light go and end? Also, what do you guys do for power? Is it plugged in at an outlet outside the house or are you taking power from attic or inside the house?
@@vinoodp7003 power started on the left and strands went right. We planned on trying to get the led module driver installed after the 5th string of lights as described on the side of the box. Then 7 strands were installed after. Yes power was in the attic near the AC unit outlet
Thanks for the video. Can you use the provided Govee Pro Splitters that come with the Govee Pro version to connect the two sections of the updated Govee Outdoor lights 2?
@@jbsdiytv Thanks for getting back to me. So a 16ft length of 18/3 wire? Is it not possible just to make a 24 foot custom extension using the splice kit ends?
I see that you are cutting and splicing, are you using the govee pro lights or the regular govee lights. I ask because the link provided goes to the regular lights and those say "cannot be cut."
Yeah sorry, wish I had a power adapter and controller for the pro version. I find the pro version easier to work with because it has a 3amp power brick and you can make extended jumps. Pro version has the best and purest warm and cool white and higher lumens than the other versions
So by saving your screenshot it's like saving your DYI? So once you saved multiple screenshots its just one click to change from your different screenshots?
Yes that correct. Once you have created a screenshot, you can then add those to automation schedule to automatically come on/off whenever you want. Screenshots cannot be edited after saved because they were created under finger sketch tab. If you would like to ever create your DIYs and edit them, needs to be done under the DIY tab and then you can edit and move them around. Here is a video to learn the DIY Tab. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XTTDrpol9cw.htmlsi=HYMai_cRoGcAkVVD
Don’t buy these. They have security problems with your privacy. Right from the government website CVE-2023-3612 Detail Description Govee Home app has unprotected access to WebView component which can be opened by any app on the device. By sending an URL to a specially crafted site, the attacker can execute JavaScript in context of WebView or steal sensitive user data by displaying phishing content.
I like these but I wish they were standalone. I don’t want them connecting to some server somewhere so the app could work. Govee goes out of business or servers are hacked.. there goes your lights. This is too bad. I was about to buy them. nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2023-3612 The link above is a legit US government site. Thanks for the video. But I will have to find an alternative
@@jbsdiytvI am not going to use Govee because their app has security and privacy holes that can be used to hack your personal info. I am likely going to use appeck lights and use the stand alone remote.
We do but we are currently booked for out of town installs. Sept-December is the most busiest for us. We are a small business taking on all of Texas. We appreciate the support🙏. Thank you for your service to our country👊
I use vans. Almost the same texture of a skateboard so it grips well. Are also very comfortable to wear. If you have a steep roof, I would recommend getting two small pitch hoppers. Be safe
The led driver module comes with the 200ft Pro Kits. That will get installed after the 5th String of lights if you’re installing more than 9 strands in the pro kit. It helps drive power and data to the end of your install. Only works for the pro kit versions(H706). If you were to purchase a 150ft pro kit, it’s not included but if you ever need to stretch your install out at a later time, then you would need to purchase separately the module driver and 3 additional strands to complete 200ft
Only in basic group. Limited features. You can try dreamview but those have limited scenes. It’s because they are not of the same-model type that you get their full functionality
The normal version is H705. By your model type, you have the Elites. There isn’t a Y-split available on the market that we know of. We try and stay away from Y-split as the strands mirror each other. So for instance, you run a Govee scene, you won’t tell. When you start creating solid colors or accent lighting, you won’t have individual control on the strands tied into each other
Snapshots are the same when you create them in finger sketch and DIY finger sketch. Finger sketch tab does not have the same capabilities like DIY finger sketch does. Snapshots will not appear next to your DIYs. Creating a finger sketch DIY you’ll have the ability to post it to your Govee app profile and share it with others. You’ll have the ability to duplicate your scenes, edit them again, and organize them by setting them in groups
Each house varies. A straight line house 1 story and 2 story are adjusted prices. 1 or 2 story home with multiple peaks goes up in price due to the amount of custom jumps we have to make. That would mean splicing, solder sleeving and line match. At the moment we are booked for the season. Please reach out at the end of the year if you would like a quote. Thank you.
