When thermals "die", which state to they then stay in: cool or warm? And what about solar polishes: indoors or outdoors? And, running the risk of having an unpopular opinion, why don't we just do gradients?? This eliminates any concerns over the color-changing aspect eventually expiring & the burden of having to have a free edge (not to mention living someplace where it's neither hot as hades nor cold as ice so that there can actually be a thermal variant). Yes, yes, I realize this also eliminates the coolness factor of witnessing the color change, but honestly I just don't get the hype. What I've taken to doing is saving images of the polishes in their mixed state so that I can recreate them using a sponged-on gradient ~ a win-win, imho! I get these gorgeous color combos on my nails despite rockin' shorties & livin' in Florida where even the devil says it's just too damn hot!!🥵
We had a whole convo about it during stream and it seems to depend on the pigment but in many cases its whatever state it's on when it dies. As for the why - like with many things nail art, why not? Gradients are their own thing, c okor changing us a separate neat thing.
I am here literally shouting out load "holy cow!" "what the heck?" The color change is mystifying me. How does simple water change the color? Does it stay the darker shade when the water evaporates/dries? And how does it display darker just on the tips? Is that because you put extra polish on the tips? "thermal color changing" - so it is darker when it is cooler? (the tips not being exposed to body temp and dipping it in cool water)? Does it lighten up once the warm fingers warm it up again? And how come the color change when you apply the top coat?
Yes, all the color changes are due to temperature changes. I imagine you coat changes it because something about the quick drying makes the yemp change just enough
Question: Do you happen to have China Glaze's Cabin Fever? I'm wondering how it compares to Burnt Out... (Yes, I know both polishes + this video are several years old, but it can't hurt to ask, right??) Thanks ever so!😊
Hello Collette, can you do a video sharing your most favorite nail polish brands. There are so much out there, I just want to know your thoughts. Thank you 💕🤗
Happy Birthday to you! 🎉 thanks for sharing and the reminder about this polish. So pretty. I bought it but it looks murky in the bottle so always had something else better to apply.
Hi there. Thanks for all your tutorials. I was wondering if you can recommend a peel off base coat that works with regular polish. I’d like to silk wrap my nails, like this.
The peel off I currently use is from Holo Taco, and I used to use one from Unt in the past. It is common at least for me that it is a bit harder to remove from patches/wraps tho.
The dumbest thing I ever broke a nail on was a dresser. The stupid thing is designed that it has no handles so my hand has slipped multiple times even with short nails. The top is angled so you either have to go fingers extended-claws out or you have to do a hook with your index finger and grab it with the side of your finger. Which will probably slip because there's not enough friction or strength with just one finger. (Or maybe not, I could be surprised.) I grabbed the drawer with my thumb, my strongest nail, and it slipped and the angle caught my thumb and the whole thing just tore upwards. It's been years and I still have vengeance on my mind.
