Hi Tom! i have some 10 year fruit trees (all DWN!) and some are not producing good fruit. Would it be possible to completely cut the tree to the original root stock and graft a different young tree onto it? Thinking a mature root system could help speed things along.
I’ve been watching for months how to prune trees and no body explains it like you. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Lord willing I plan on planting trees in the raised bed and keep them small I’ll keep learning until then😂❤
So if you sift bagged Garden Soil, you get bark left in the top of the sifter and the soil thats been sifted is Potting Soil. (I do this all the time; I use a sifter (made from 1/4 inch metal cloth that's on a frame), laying over a wheel barrel). With that, can't you just add 1/3 portion of Peat Moss to 2/3 Garden Soil & add a bit of sand & perlite??
Nah, I've tasted this variety over and over, not the best in taste. I searched for pluots in nursery and ended up buying this FG bec the only other one avail is Dapple Dandy and already have that. I ended up buying this tree last months and is now planting in the ground. I could not find Flavor King.
I learned a lot in this video thanks for putting it together. I especially enjoyed the summer pruning and being able to keep the tree as small as you want
I want to do a pear or Sone fruit bush like waist high tops should I mix stone fruit and pear its about 15 ft long I want it to be 1,1/2 to 2 foot ft wide
Saving this video! I’m new to blueberries but with all the videos I have watched, I never seen anyone plant two or more blueberry plants together in a pot. In fact most say to plant in even a bigger pot than this even starting with a small plant. I like this method because less money if I can plant together.
Thank you! I have an old grape vine I want to prune and train for shade, and I can only find videos about 2 to 3 year old grape vines. Thanks for being exactly what I needed!
I planted my fruit trees about 5 years ago and 3 of 4 aren't flowering and I read that excessive pruning and fertilizing can cause this. I'm concerned I've excessively pruned them but how do I control size without pruning quite a bit?
Absolutely genius, after 15 years and 145k views I can clearly notice the increase of cane pruning vineyards popping up everywhere I am sure all due to this wonderful clear display and explanation of cane pruning video! This should be the 1st video ever to popup in the related searches. From minute 3:43 to 3:53 it all made sense and all my questions were answered those 10 seconds were magical!
Do I understand correctly that planting several trees close together prevents the trees from reaching their full height? Or are the trees pruned to stay short.
I have a neighbor whose two story house looks right into my backyard. Unfortunately we had a falling out so I'm trying to not make the situation worse. I'd like to plant some privacy hedges and this video with fruit trees along the back wall seemed like a great idea instead of a juniper or the like, however, I'd like to know what type of fruit trees I can trellis along the back wall so it doesn't overflow into their backyard? I have limited mobility so it is difficult for me to trim these trees but with trellising them I'm hoping I won't need to trim them. Also, if I can, is it possible/feasible to create a trellis about 6 feet tall to again help with the privacy issue? Thanks
Hi, I bought a Li jujube that was sold by Dave Wilson to a nursery. It says Li grafted onto a jujube rootstock. It didn't specify which. What cultivar does Dave Wilson use for jujube rootstock?
Wow, I really need help pruning my trees. My new tree ( pineapple pear ) is barefoot. And very tall with 2 tall branches that go straight up. It's about 7 to 9 feet tall already. I need it at 6 feet as I'm 5/4 😊 I'm 100 percent sure I pruned all the other trees completely wrong. It really frustrates me because I work so hard to keep the ground clean around them, mulching with wood chips, fertilizing with chicken poo, examining every day for fungus or pest, spraying for fungus after rain. Maybe I'm doing to much. I'm know to growing trees. My oldest tree is a Santa rosa 3 years old.
