Let me tell you about direct Express. I had to order a new card. And when I did I had to be verified for the first time in 8 years. They will not accept any form of identification no matter how many times I send it if I tax it or anything else it is ridiculous. I'm going to announce this and put this on blast in every way possible. I have tried to reach the direct Express bank called co America and they don't care either.

My friend sued a collector company under the FDCPA because the collector tried to collect a false debt, they accused him of a false transaction, however the federal court says that even though they were in default they cannot issue a judgment against that company because he is a not a consumer and is not a collection and there is not a transaction. First, obtain as much information as you can. Get copies of all the statements showing all of the unauthorized charges. You need to know where the money was spent or transferred. Be sure to provide all relevant information in your dispute to the bank so they can conduct a full investigation. Be prepared to prove your ID and residence in case they need that information. If they don't return your money, call a lawyer.

Help Desk is a joke this is the worst thing you can do is get the Direct Express card. Don't do it!!! Once they cancel your card for alleged fraud and they will, go immediately to SS and have it cancelled and request a check. The best thing is to not get one at all to begin with. Have SS send you a check, in the mean time open a Bank Acct and have the funds deposited there. It takes 2 months for Social Security to deposit to your bank account so make sure you get a check until then vs the money going to the DE Card! If you for whatever reason can not get a bank acct ask a friend or relative to add you as an account holder to their account. Direct Express are scammers. They have been sued for their behavior. The Help Desk will ask for all your ID's and then tell you its not any good go to Social Security. Social Security has no affiliation with Direct Express other than to stop the payments to them. It's called the run around. Crooked company. You also will need to talk to an attorney but he might charge more than Direct has stolen from you but it can't hurt to try. File a complaint with the Inspector General's Office and your Congressman. Good luck in getting your money back!

My charge was unauthorized and unlisted. Scotiabank gave me a $4 charge without listing it in any transactions, and put me into overdraft without any second thought or hesitation. Unfortunately, lawyers do not have the ability to make banks do right by their customers. All we can do is help people enforce their legal rights. If you have not been able to dispute by telephone, there is nothing stopping you from sending them a letter.
The most important thing you forgot to mention is that the CREDIT is a RIGHT, so nobody can deny you your rights!!! And the second is your application is a collateral security, so they need to provide you with all the information and the accounting regarding this security. And if they don’t, you take them to court!

It is also reiterated in Equal Credit Opportunity Act 15 USC §1691 SCOPE OF PROHIBITION: (a) Activities constituting discrimination: (3) because the applicant has in good faith exercised any RIGHT under this chapter. Then check out 12 USC 1431 where you will find that the first power and duty of banks is BORROWING money. There is nothing in this chapter about lending! Besides, banks are prohibited by law to lend any of their assets, as well as their depositors assets. So how do you think they "lend" you anything if law is that explicit? Well, your signature is what creates money, literally! Before you signed your negotiable instrument, that money that was supposedly "loaned" to you, did not even exist!

Direct express had put a hold on my husband's ss money our rent is due and they won't release the funds until they have proof that's its him. My husband hasnt been sick not even 1 time in our 21yrs of marriage. So 2 yrs aging he had a partial stroke and I had to call an ambulance to send him to the ER. I gave the driver his wallet and they took out his I'd and military I'd and ss card. They made a copy and never put his I'd back . So now direct express wants a copy of his I'd before they will release his check. I told them what happened to his I'd I had a copy of his I'd but they wouldn't take a copy they need the front and the back of his I'd. But to get his I'd I have to send off for his birth certificate to get a new I'd I have mailed his request on the 17 of December but it hasn't come in yet. Got the eviction notice yesterday. Help what can I do to get direct to except his copy. We don't want to lose our home. If you can think of anything let me know
