Hi, I have completed a bachelors in science and masters in applied psychology. I was thinking of applying for an assessment for my masters degree in psychology to further pursue post grad diploma in psychology in Australia. After completing this, What would be the best pathway to get the clinical registration?
hi can you plz let me know the demand of psychologist in australia as compared to nursing? right now im going to take msc psychology from uk and which course i should choose in australia after degree from uk.
I would say the nursing pathway is a lot easier to start working and more straightforward than psychology. Psychology takes 6 years of study and its very very competitive to get into a masters.
heyy so I had a question that if I do my ba in psychology from my home country and then plan to go to Australia for masters or doctorate would it be a problem? since my undergrad degree is not apac accredited
I am from nepal i also want to study bachelor of psychology in the newzealand so but i don't idea about university and also about this course in newzealand about easy and future carrer.. plz can you tell me..
Hy, i am doing my bachelor's in psychology in India. I would like to pursue dclinpsy in Australia. But I'm not sure if it is possible. Does it have any suggestions?? Or is it possible for an international student?? I think dclinpsy is 4 yrs in Australia. Bt some of the countries only have 3 yrs. What should i do?? Or is it okay to do forensic psychology? What i have to study to become that??
I just submitted my 101-page, 15,000-word (25k including references and legends) neuroscience thesis at Monash University. The conclusion I wrote is the sloppiest piece of writing I've ever constructed. Its fair to say my brain is fried. But its done.
My thesis is due in less than 2 weeks and I am sick with a flu because I am so stressed because I need to get an 80 to keep at least a h2a 😅 I got a h1 for coursework but this is so stressful, honours is no joke.
Hello! I'm currently doing my GDP, your videos are very useful and pleasant to watch!🥰 I would like to ask are all Master of Professional Psych degrees from all Uni in Aus require an Honour degree? When i did my research last year some Uni doesn't require an honour to enter the program, but the master's degree might be longer. I asked around and everyone had a different answer.🥲
Hello i am currently studying ba psychology and in my 2 year, after my completion of ba,i want to stud MA counseling so can i apply after my ba for ma counseling in Australia
Thank you for making this video! ❤ im just starting my bachelours in psychology (honours), and im wondering, does joining clubs and societies in uni help at all for getting into masters? Or will psych related work experiences be better?
Soo glad you enjoyed it! I think joining any psych groups societies is beneficial. However, I would just do clubs in societies that you are personally drawn to! I wasn’t part of any clubs or societies that were specific to psychology, but I did join mentoring programs and worked in student support services at my University. These experiences where relevant for my masters applications. I just made a podcast called mental status for psychology students (peach background with blue spiral), and I think you might find it helpful 😊
thank you so much for making this video!. I have an 84 WAM. Do you know whereabouts most universities cut applications off for grades? i've heard some unviersities don't look at applications over 85, or 86, etc.
Hi Sarah! I actually just started a podcast @mentalstatuspodcast on insta and mental status on Spotify and I’ll be talking about masters more on there!
Starting a new semester and I'm so glad I found your video and thank you so much for making this video. This is very reassuring and all your information and reminders you gave is exactly what I needed to hear <3
hey, I am currently in grade 12. i want to pursue my career in psychology feild and study bachelor of arts in psychology! i am thinking to pursure my BA IN PSYCH in australia, so can you let me know if it"s actually good in aus? and also can you please suggest me some colleges there? and is there any scope for my future settlement in the country as a psychologist?
What happens if you are a UK individual with an undergraduate degree in another subject that is not Psychology. However said student has studied and passed an MSc Psychology in the UK. What happens then in Australia as said student hasnt studied 6 years psychology but has studied at undergraduate level and MSc Psychology?
Hey Andrew, I have some insights on this! Am currently going through the process and it is indeed possible (just need to get your conversion course APS approved). Happy to chat it through.
@@bencarden366I am almost finished with my MSc in Psychology ( it’s a conversion course) and I am currently considering what my options abroad are. Do you have any idea if I could go straight to a masters in Australia ? Thanks
Hi@@torim7342 , yes it is my understanding that you can get your master's accredited by the APS. It depends which conversion you did, but it should be considered as being four years (bachelor's + honours). All the best !
@@bencarden366 hi im just planning to go uk can you plz help for choosing best course for me im confused between masters in public health or msc psychology which should i choose? in which i get better salary in future?? and my plan to go australia after 1 year masters from uk plz reply?? anyone
I’m planning to go into psychology. Could you guide me what’s the average salary for a clinical psychologist in Australia and what’s the max range with years of experience?. Thanks.
Hey, your videos are really insightful! I have just completed my 3 years of psychology Honours from India. Will I be able to join for masters or do I need to do one year PG diploma first? Can you please let me know?
@@anna-_-7936 from my research i found clinical psychology has such strict candidate process and the intake percentile of international students would be much less compared to other schools of Psych
Hey, I'm planning to do master's in Australia. I came to know about pr occupational list which says that only professions mentioned in the list can apply for PR. Does that mean psychology international students ain't eligible for permanent resident (PR)? I'm from India tho.
Hey mam thank you so much for this informative video I have a question for you kindly give me the answer I recently done BS political science but further i want to built a career in psychology or further i want to study psychology in australia is it possible for me to do so ? And if you already made a video regarding this kindly drop its link Thank you .
Not me here because I am struggling to get my thesis lit review going and needed a mental break on YT! Thank you for the video, and for your comments on the thesis lit review - very validating and comforting.
Hi, thank you so much for sharing. I graduated with a 4-year psychology degree over 10 years ago, how can I register as a provisional psychologist for master programme? please shed some light. Thank you!
hey ! Grateful for these videos ....Like am pretty confused if i wanna opt psychology...Maybe am not gud at it but i feel like am made for it just confused any tips please will be very thankful ❤
It’s not unheard of!! I was got in straight after honours, but I know most people did work experience in-between. I think getting work experience is great because you have more to contribute during class :)
I can’t believe I’ve landed on such a gem. Thank you so much for this video, it has helped me so much ❤. I’m a marketing graduate and I’m honestly thinking about going into psychology because I’m realising my passion for it. But was so confused about how to transition and the possible pathways. Thank you for taking the time to answer the questions and explaining it so well. ❤
This felt like a therapy session, from someone who has gone through the experience recently - aka has the most amount of understanding/empathy, much appreciated! Congratulations on getting to where you are, you're going to be a great psychologist :) The next question I have is, do you have any tips for online Uni students planning to do honours and masters? I'm 29 and have recently moved to a rural town due to my partner's job. I'm in my last year of undergrad at an online university and we are tossing up between moving for honours anywhere across Aus (if I get in) or staying put and doing honours online (I hope it is not too hard to do that way!! I don't want to fail honours or decrease my chances of getting grades for masters)
Thank you for this video. I'm working through my GDP, looking at Honours next. I know you said the video is a bit rough but I really appreciate the insights - I'm grateful you made it. It's also lovely to see you more assured and confident, it gives me hope that sticking to the long journey of studying psychology can be positive and personally transformative. Please keep making these videos! Good luck with your current placement :)
