I'm a kiwi (from New Zealand) and I have developed an interest in decoding, lock picking and locksport.
The youtuber Potti314 inspired me to take up this lock picking hobby, because his videos are nice & clear, and he's very genuine (ie if he has trouble with something, he admits it in his videos and doesn't only show the good bits). His enthusiasm is contagious.
@@Swynndla I mean, this made my day man...haha...I was ready to Amazon a few of these before a trip this week. Bear of it was I had it right (the combo), but upside down HAHA
Cheers! The lock seems really good otherwise - nice and thick. I discovered this trick by accident. It only works if I start from the left hand side, not the right. I bought it from amazon UK 😉
So..... I was following the video... And then you got "lucky"... Which at this time I couldn't tell which was harder to turn... So I gave up and turned off the video. And then the lock opened because it was just stopped on the right combination. So your video luck applied to me as well!
LOL better to be lucky than skillful 😄Yea I could have done a pre-canned video and pretended I didn't know the combination code, but I prefer to do things honestly where I really don't know what the combination is. My method should work though (as I tested it several times before making the video, with a different random combination code each time), although I do get your point, me getting lucky wouldn't help most people. But besides all that, well done for getting it open! 😄😄
I can try and give some tips. Wear gloves and pull hard (or get someone else to help pull it hard), as the harder you tension it the more obvious the tightening up will be. Also sometimes it helps to move the last wheel to a different number as the closer you are to the correct combination code the more obvious the feedback. Or you could set the first wheel on 0, and then do the indirect method on the the 2nd & 3rd wheel, and if no good then put the 1st wheel on 1, etc (brute forcing the 1st wheel all the way around). Last (but not least) you can try the sideways method in my video 190: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e0xpSiTtvNA.html ... maybe you should try that first. Good luck!
Really helpful, thank you! Your advice helped me unlock my son's BRAND NEW 5-code NDakter-style bike lock, the combination to which he had forgotten. My fingers have blisters but what satisfaction!
Excellent about getting it open! Sorry about the blisters - I often wear gloves because of that. Well done for tensioning it so well to get get the feel of it. It's a great feeling when it suddenly pops open, right?
Do you have the same model of lock? If no then this method may not work, but if yes then I can try and give some tips. Wear gloves and pull hard (or get someone else to help pull it hard), as the harder you tension it the more obvious the tightening up will be. Also sometimes it helps to move the last wheel to a different number as the closer you are to the correct combination code the more obvious the feedback. @@bryantfalk7021 That could mean one of the other wheels has the wrong number. You *could* brute force the last to wheels (trying every combination) to make sure.
If the shackle (the u-shape part) is open but doesn't turn all the way around, it might not be pulled out enough - try and pull it open more? And if it's stuck open (locked open) then you could have a look at ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jxfaR_Eeato.html
All of the videos using that stupid pick trick isn't fucking working man ! There's got to be some other way ? How does Master lock sell locks that cant be opened ?
I've come across master locks that have been much more of a challenge. First, you need constant tension (I'm using quite strong tension even though it doesn't look like it in the video). The closer you are to the correct combination code, the more feedback you'll have (the more things will tighten up, and tighten up by a jump, making it obvious). It can be tricky finding the correct number on the first wheel (and also the 2nd wheel). Sometime I have to try a number on the first wheel that feels good and I go through the motions with the other wheels, but if I don't get anywhere then I go back and try a different number on the first wheel that feels good.
In the other assholes's video, he fucking starts from the other direction! But that shit isn't working ! So can you come up with something different or some other way to open this fucking stupid lock ?
When you find your first number, does it have to the very first gate your test to be tight? Or it could be a few loose ones and then a tight one. Because in your video first # is 36, then you turn L and bam it got tight at 30. It this a necessary condition for the 1st #? Or it’s an exception. Thx
I would have thought it starts to tighten up straight away, but I do test a few of them just to make sure. So if you find the right first number, things should start to tighten up. Note that if you find the correct first & second numbers, it'll tighten up even more. So tightness is an indication that you are on the right track. Note also, something I didn't explain well in the video, you have to turn several full times clockwise (to the right - at least 3 full turns) before you start. This will reset the internal wheels, and it may not work otherwise. Once it's reset, I'm careful with my turns so it doesn't mess up that reset ... follow my turning pattern in the video (after you reset it). If you mess up the turning, reset it again (turning several times clockwise) and carry on with where you left off.
Oh my gosh! My heart jumped for a second when my bike lock flung open from the tension I was adding. I was even starting to think that this wouldn't work for my lock, but I'm pleasantly surprised! THANK YOU! I will be writing down my code ASAP!
These instructions are a life-saver. I have zero knowledge of how locks work, but had do look for something when I accidentally reset my lock. Worked like a charm!
It works on many combination bike locks but not all. You could try the "Sideways" method in my video 190: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e0xpSiTtvNA.html ... or sometimes I have to use advanced methods like this one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sQ7RAC-V8D0.html ... Good luck!
@@_4lexi_ Lemme know how you get on. The indirect method may still work, but sometimes you need to put on gloves and pull really hard on some locks. For other locks you need to get the first couple of wheels correct before it will give feedback.
Theres a method for the 2nd digit Just put more tension until you find a point where you cant turn anymore Turn the other way and you will find a spot that you get stuck on
@@pickaxe4248 btw - I have some more advanced methods for Master locks here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hVYRIp9YOlo.html and: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8MwaRPZD3Hc.html and: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O6v04dDXd84.html
I just popped open this bike lock floating about that nobody could remember the combination for while listening to the video. I tried with the pressure method first so I think I already had the first two locked in right. Still funny that I managed to unlock it while listening to your video.
Literally locked myself out my locker at the gym this morning …. This worked! I didn’t get to workout tho cause I had to go to work and I already spent about 30 mins before finding this video trying to unlock it myself lol… thank you!
Nice! I'm glad you got your gear and you got to work on time, and also that they didn't have cut your lock off. At least your fingers got a workout! You've taught yourself a new skill. Cheers for the comment!
