diary of an earth girl ⚘ i hope to bring conversation that nurtures emotional growth and brings into awareness the whole of you. here, i hope to explore the depths of my creative expression and share glimpses of my life. i have no intention to define what that will look like but i strive for it to feel authentic and in some ways, transformative. happy healing ⚘
Just a small note, lots of medications have bad interactions with St John’s wort. I’m a qualified psyc nurse so just wanted to mention it so people know. Cool vid btw- I’m trying to dry herbs too (making a start).
holy shit! 1 minute and my mind has been blown. i'm rwandan and recently, i've been really thinking hard about the kind of community i want to build around me and i realized that, it is largely other black people who can also appreciate and love being in nature. but i suppose...baby steps. start small, expand out
I feel we are programmed not to like if and dear nature when nature is really our natural space . I love nature and I agree I don’t see many people that look like us in nature and it’s so sad because it’s so peaceful ☺️Much Gratitude Sis ❤
it’s true! honestly I think most of us are but initial access makes all the difference. I’m starting to see a much bigger trend of people getting out and exploring nature from diverse backgrounds and circumstances and it’s inspiring to see!
I just wanted to say I am happy for your love of nature ...Also when your out and about always also pay attention to the birds ...they warn us when something has changed around you when outside! Love the video! Haters gonna hate lovers will love! 😃🥰
How do you know her ancestry , SMH ...Did you know that the Native Americans were whited out ...Yes, Sis ...we were and many Native Americans are still here in USA our skin is BROWN and Black and every color on the brown spectrum! Black Foot Indians of West Virginia , The Seminoles, the Okefenokee Indians and so many more tribes they the people we call European white folks killed many tribes off from day one ...couldnt let the word out that the land that they discovered was already inhabited by colored folks, Do you know why the European kept exploring land , they wanted and hoped that they would discover a land of people that looked like them but what they found every time they explored was that the world is very colorful , not white! .. Sis you need to do your homework before saying things you don't understand as a matter of fact did you know the original Mexicans were yes Black! SMH You need to do some homework maybe travel to Washington D.C to the library of Congress search out some of the explorers writings about what they discovered when they came here the copper colored and brown people of the Americas ...we been here from day 1 Sis ..Why do you think they mixed the Native Indians with the Africans , because the skin was dark! Dane Calloway #RU-vid ...Rest In Peace Granny a women of grandeur filled with her Cherokee and African healing power may she Rest In Peace! #North Carolina
@@1967Nettie TEACH, yes represent that Copper Colored Aboriginal/Original Americans misnamed the American so called Negro and African-American knowledge.
I did not claim the Americans as my ancestral land in this video. I am African American and with that, speak about the ties we have to this land and how it has protected/provided for us for many generations. I am speaking about advocacy for this land and for the indigenous knowledge and practices that existed here far before colonization. I don’t have to be [your version of, though it is unclear] ancestrally tied to do that and that’s kinda the point of the video. (edited indigenous to ancestrally tied to clarify)
@@earth2sydni just sounds like you’re pushing the conspiracy that African Americans are actually Native Americans… that is an insult to indigenous peoples that were g worded and the ones still here fighting for their land.
Yes! Honestly one the best online blanket resources I’ve found is the American herbalist guild! They have a pretty thorough search engine to find both online and in-person classes in the US. americanherbalistsguild.com/school-profiles
woah you captured so much of how i feel, esp mourning past version of myself that was more consistent with practices that were helping with healing. but like u said it’s rlly just abt finding what works now and what can bring solace in my increasingly hectic life. thank u for this!
I think it’s interesting how it’s always a concentrated effort in keeping black people behind the mark, in whichever way possible. Media, healthcare, politics, etc.. even to the point of pulling books written by black authors in Florida. Whatever reason they have concocted for this, the only community you see suffering from this is the black community. Also, there is a lot of propaganda in the healthcare industry, and not enough discussion of how subconsciously biased a lot of these non black doctors and non black herbalists are. There are many non black herbalists and doctors who very well may attempt to want to help black people, but they do the bare minimum if much at all due to their own subconscious bias of black people, and they don’t even understand why they behave or act the way they do because they don’t have to be held accountable. It’s very important for black people to understand the importance of taking care of people who look like us, especially in the herbal community and healthcare community. It doesn’t matter how seemingly nice and helpful people are, then tend to have a subconscious bias that prevents them from being of any real benefit.
I just want to tell you that it is the first video that I’m watching on your channel and that I love you spiritual energy that is emanating from you. It is a pleasure for me to grow thanks to your introspection and the lessons that you have learnt through you life path. I love to see black people with such a beautiful soul like you❤️🙏🏽☺️🪲
I don't have locs--I only barely have hair--but I'm guessing that your conditioner uses an avocado oil base. It's the best "dry" natural oil I know and I use it as the basis medicinal herbal formulas that require an oil.
How long did it take for your locs to stop being super frizzy? I'm about 9 months in and I know I have a minute before my locs mature but the frizziness is lowkey insane lmao
I wanna say it took 1-2 years for me😬 it took 2 years for them to start looking like mature locs and probably half way through that year 1 they started to frizz less
