Thank you for the great video. It was long enough to give me the information I needed and short enough to let me plant my Virginia creeper. Good to know that they are quite vigorous. I have in my backyard that I didn't grow. Probably took root from a seed in bird dropping. I am going to uproot it and plant it at the bottom of a dead tree. Cheers !

I enjoy the look of the plant in the fall. It grows in the wild here in SC, and can be very invasive.

No, that is Parthenocissus quinquefolia. This one is introduced from China, beware.

I've got a Virginia creeper that's around 8 years old growing along the top of my patio doors. it takes some regular trimming in the summer but looks beautiful from inside my living room. I've found that I can take cuttings by poking a growing tip through one of the drain holes in the bottom of a pot and filling it with compost. After a month or so it can be cut from its mother plant.

Mine grows very long but doesn’t thicken out in width, nothing like the regular Virginia. Creeper I have in the other corner of my yard. Would cutting some of the length off encourage it to grow “out” at all? I’m learning more and more all the time but there’s loads that I struggle to find answers for! Cheers

Hello, I purchased a none toxic Porcelain Vine earlier this year, but its turned out to be a Parthenocissus henryana. Do you happen to know of the berries produced are poisonous to humans as I have young children who of course play in my garden. Really love the foilage but if its poisonous I'll have to get rid of it 😌 thanks in advance.

Hi Jack. I have one of these creepers and love it and is covering my whole fence. However, I don’t know if I need to cut it right back or leave it. My plan is to hide the fence so worry about cutting it back. Can you help please?

You can cut it back or you can leave it, its unlikely you're gonna kill it, theyre pretty resilient

@@EireFirst2024 so, here's the deal! Genius idea, lol! I have lattice around my deck but still not enough privacy! I bought some fake ivy, not cheap to buy either, just to hang where the neighbor's kitchen window facing our deck can be more private! So....if I buy two virginia creepers, place one on each side of lattice, let it climb and train to cover lattice, then when they finally die, I will have the dried vine left!! I think it would look great, then add a little greenery here and there or crystals etc! Hope I did not bore you, lol!!!!

I am deathly allergic to Virginia creeper and it is very invasive it will grow in my berries where I HAVE to tear it out and I invariably get it somewhere on my body and then am MISERABLE for about 10 days. I hope none of your family is allergic to it.
