Seems like some plastic shims from Lowes or Home Depot would level up your water jug and sink parts.

for the lantern post bolt, could you put it on with the trailer wing (the bed fold-down) slightly lifted up so that the bar isn't in the way?

Best review I’ve seen. Period. One thought of many: at the 35:00 mark - I’d have run a small shower head style attachment to the other guy’s water tank/heater setup, which is genius btw, versus the residential style sink faucet.

Appreciate the review. Very cool system just out of my budget. Been tent camping for a very long time and hammer in stakes are a PIA! I’ve long since upgraded to 12” lag screws and bring along my impact wrench with a 3/8” socket. My Alaknak 12x12 took 30mph winds on top of a mountain this past summer and held fast.

How cold is it to sleep in at night during the colder months? The beds are over the extensions on the sides, correct? So you have a bunch of air? Some people have told me they're really cold at night? Thoughts?
@outdooradventuresofacityco216
@outdooradventuresofacityco216 3 года назад
Hi Armatis. Shanda here. We live in AZ, so we don't have blizzards or anything like that, but do tend to get snow up north. We purchased this primarily so we could camp in the snow. From what I've heard, they can be cold, but with the use of a buddy heater, its warm and toasty. My concern with the buddy heater would be sleeping with it on. My plan is going to be to get reflective insulation material. There have been a few mentions of it in the jumping jack Facebook page. I still need to do more homework. I can tell you, just by the fair weather camping we've done, the beds do get cold, so I will definitely be using reflective insulation there. We are going up north this weekend so we can answer a little better then. No snow as of yet, so can't be positive. I do have friends that swear by theirs in the snow though

@@outdooradventuresofacityco216 Hi Shanda! Thanks for the super fast reply. I was also thinking about putting some kind of reflective material if I end up getting a Jumping Jack trailer. I'd love it if you could update once you go camping up north. Thanks!

@outdooradventuresofacityco216 3 года назад
Hi! Shanda here. We went camping in the cold. The tent stays warmer than outside, but does still get cold. We used the buddy heater. We did not do the reflective stuff. It was ok. At this point, we are going to get the big buddy that has the fan and give that a shot. If not warm enough, we'll be doing the reflective insulation. We are still in the testing phase to see what is needed for comfort. We slept good with our sleeping bags and 3 pups to cuddle with. Lol

The big awning and lantern hanger work just fine together. Hanger helps stabilize the awning. Was also concerned about the heat of the lantern but it hasn’t been an issue. Awning is never more then warm to the touch. I have the 12 ft trailer and 8 ft tent . So the awning is just past the end of the trailer.

@@outdooradventuresofacityco216 Bartlett Lake in Cave Creek. You can camp right on the water. You need a Tonto Pass to access for each day, but it is like 8 bucks, and last time I was there I caught a large mouth bass. It isn't out in the woods per se, but if you have a 4x4 you can get further back.

This company is clearly using the printer / printer cartridge model, get you pregnant with the product then charge an arm & a leg the accessories! I wish they would lower the price on their accessories considering the typical clientele who would buy such trailer; we are not Airstream owners! Only difference on mine is I'm putting a house battery on the other half of the propane rack/shelf and will get a solar panel to charge it. My ultimate hope, besides charging phones, is to run a ducted heat exchanger (if www.zodi.com comes back online) so as to not have to worry about the Mr. Heater Buddy issues of carbon monoxide when running all night (in really cold temps) or low O2 shut-off issues at high elevations. I think it's ok that you have to pull the cushions a few inches away from the tent wall, you don't want to touch it if raining or cold or condensation, sort of like a normal bed away from the drywall in your house. I also put my spare tire on the tongue of the trailer so there is zero chance of puncturing it with a sharp rock when off roading.
@outdooradventuresofacityco216
@outdooradventuresofacityco216 4 года назад
Sounds like you have a good plan going. I have been thinking about possible solar but as of now it's not justified for us.im sure it will happen at some point. I do kind of agree about the printer cartridge example. A good side of it is if you are handy things seem to be easy to make without buying their accessories.

Hey Dean. Shanda here. I'm not sure what you'd like to know, but here goes the info I wanted to know: These are a quick release steps. You hard attach a part that the steps connect to on the trailer. This allows you to take the off when traveling (which is needed when going off road) and also makes the steps super sturdy when connected. It is sturdy enough that I can jump up and down on them. I wouldn't recommend you do that, but I did just to see how sturdy they are. The brand is MORryde and the model will depend on if you have a regular or a black out. You need the 2 step for a regular JJ and the 3 step for the Blackout. There is a handrail that is available that I (Shanda) am looking at. I'm accident prone, so these steps were important safety wise. I'm not really sure what else to say other than the steps honestly make entry and exit a lot easier. If you have any other questions on it, let us know.
