Wild and Growing is an ongoing project created by Hannah Plourde and Richard Moran to get more people outdoors and exploring nature. Come join us for our many adventures in The White Mountains of New Hampshire. We hope that you will join us whether that's to get inspiration for your next hike, background ambiance, or to live vicariously through us.
Hi Hannah, it was nice to come across your video. I am considering studying the 3-6 course. Could you please tell me what the job prospects have been like for you after becoming Montessori qualified with the NAMC? Thanks so much!
Thank-you I recently quit smoking and moved back home to northern Wisconsin so I started drinking tea from harvested plants. I started with mullien, I bought a juncture but found a whole patch where we go fishing. Now I'm collecting and learning about yarrow, it's along the road and there is lots of it. I bought a book with all the plants to pick and use. I hope to learn lots from you, thank-you
Total unintended dis of Vermonts 4kers 😂 3:04 i chuckled at that! Glad you got all 48! I’m in the process of doing that if you couldn’t tell 😅. I wish I lived a lot closer to the Whites, I’d be there way more often!
I'm working on creating a vernal pond here in one of my local city parks - even though officially, the Parks Dept. is totally against any "water features." It will be a "swale" that just happens to collect a lot of rainwater and keep it for a long time. I've already seen turtles around, so I know this will help them. Hurray for vernal pools.
So glad to find you! Found the yarrow processing video you did! Living on the blue ridge in WNC..wild forest medicinals to learn from and loving it. So happy to know you came back…thank you for sharing your adventures…and medicine. Super exciting stuff! So very welcome right now. :)
I don't know how you guys could do it. I was pooped by the end of Pihea Trail. You should show the parts where you have to climb up the rocks and get The red clay dirt all over you. That's what happened to me.
I found this video today and thought it was new because it's New Years Eve today and they said, "Happy New Year!" LOL My husband and I will be visiting Kauai in a few weeks so we will look for this hike and go see the turtles - THANKS!
Yo ignorant white people, the mountain has multiple, different legends originating to the indigenous people of the island. You just opted out to explaining none of them, not respecting the history of the island. Just the easy white colonizer shit
It was a really interesting foliage year. The trees around us got a really late start so at the beginning of peak season it was muted but by the end of the month everything was super vibrant.
Great video! I've located a large patch of jewelweed that I'll be visiting in a couple of weeks in hopes of seeing the seed pods...and tasting them too:)
Yes this is an official cert. I’m not compensated in any way by sharing my journey to going through this program! You can learn more via their website.
@@WildandGrowing thank you for the reply. My husband and I did a bunch of research and did it without a guide at the end of August. Absolutely amazing 😍
Does it work with both common yarrow and chinese yarrow? Also: I've heard from multiple sources that thet smell fragrant but others say (and in my own experience) they kinda stink. Is it just the variety I have?
