Hello and welcome! I am a licensed cosmetologist with 20 years of experience working behind the chair. I started this channel to use my passion, knowledge, and experience to help naturally curly haired individuals to navigate the ins and outs of working with their curls.
Well this is totally the opposite of my wife's 20+ years experience with the Dyson hair dryer. She said it's worth every penny for the dyson. So confused why this is not a good review
I have coarse, thick, wavy hair and it is soooo helpful seeing both you and your daughter do your hair. I have also been working on figuring out innersense for awhile. I so appreciate your videos and it's fun when you and your daughter do them together, THANK YOU!!!!
I wish that you demonstrated products alone so that we could see the hold, moisture, etc. Unfortunately, by watching many of your videos, I'm not getting what I need. You mentioned that you are not getting paid as much via RU-vid. Maybe try the ways that the other influencers demonstrate? Unfortunately, moving on.
My hair has changed throughout my life. Curly when I was a kid, super thick and more wavie as a teen (but then we used a brush on our hair back then that would pull your curls out). when I was pregnant my hair would go straighter, glossy and I’d loose a bit. I really loved it as it looked so different from my usual curly mop. About a year after each baby, my curl would come back. I became very sick (four years) in my 50s and lost a lot of hair but it was very curly what I had. Now it’s fairly curly and gray. Many changes throughout the decades. :-)
I have a perm that's about right above my shoulders.I find the front pieces always get frizzy.I have tried just gel and finger coil but then it looks like it's going the wrong way...lol Any suggestions for keeping those front pieces looking healthy and moisterized? By the way your hair really is beautiful, so healthy looking!
Hi! 1st time here, i subscribed!! Thank you. I tried with yhe other clios. I knew ut wasnt gonna wirk when i did it. I had dents! Im gonna 9rder these clips. Thank you do much.Wiw your hair loojs h? gorgeous!!❤❤ I'm gonna go back and check out your other videos!!
My hair is fine but thick, and the opposite of curly hair....the longer it is the more curly at the ends/mids. When it's shorter the hair loosens into waves with curls at the ends. My hair has too much body and needs to be weighed down somewhat. It's a tricky balancing act.
Thanks for this video. I'm intrigued by the products. They seem to have discontinued the Full Body Thickening Lotion in favor of this line, but I still have a lot of Thickening Lotion so not investing in new products right now. I saw someone else complained about the fragrance in this line. I don't find that Curlsmith products in general have a strong smell - I just put a bunch of Curlsmith products in my hair a couple of hours ago and I don't smell a thing. 😉 So maybe it's this line in particular that is strongly fragranced? Thanks again for your review.
The volume mousse seems super comparible to AG mousse-gel! I used to use mousse all the time but now prefer foams and custard or moisturizing gels. If i use a mousse i use the AG or the volume mousse by Amika because I like it has heat protection
My first time trying this line I used a light spray leave-in (from a different line), then Root Boost Spray, followed by the Mousse. I actually tried this a couple of times, varying the amounts, and it was way too stiff and heavy for my hair. Later, I tried brush styling only the mousse (which I don't normally do). It finally looked and felt a lot better. Great definition and shine, but no extra volume. I ended up returning the Root Boost Spray, bc I just couldn't stand the feel of it and it didn't give any volume. If anything it seemed to weigh my curls down (and yes, I went in with very little). I have fine hair, and I've heard other fine hair curlies state that it was too heavy for their curls. I personally think the Root Boost Spray is better for a person with more course hair.
Thanks for the video. Your hair looks great on wash day. I am not a fan of light hold products. I get volume as my days progress. Would be interested in how you incorporate in shop your stash videos
Hi Chelle. I recently found your channel. Since going gray and going through menopause my hair has gone from fine and straight to frizzy, wavy, and sort of curly. I don't even know anymore. I'm attempted to learn to love my new natural texture and your channel has been so helpful. I was wondering if you could do a video on the subject of what happens to hair as we age, go through menopause, go gray, etc. I also went through a bout of medication induced alopecia a few years ago (I am also a migraine sufferer and tried Aimovig and Ajovy and they triggered hair loss) and still struggle with thinning on top even though I'm on all the meds to combat it (oral minoxidil, finasteride and spironolactone). The texture of the regrowth was also more frizzy than my past hair. Anyway, I'm a mess, lol. Sorry for the long post. Having straight hair my whole life and now having something totally different is a lot to wrap my head around. I love my hair stylist but she's young and I don't think she really knows much about curly hair.
I only bought the hydrate & plump leave in (which I really like even though I don't think it does anything for volume except that it's lightweight & doesn't counteract the other products) & the mousse which I've only used once and I paired it with the shape up aqua gel for a bit more hold. I could literally see and feel my curls plump with the mousse, but I think I ruined it by putting gel on after the mousse. 🤷🏽♀️ I think the line smells great & I'm not bothered by strong fragrance as long as I like the fragrance. I need to try the mousse either after applying gel, or skipping the gel altogether. Your hair came out great!
I’d be curious for a comparison of the volume spray to the Rizos curls salt spray you’ve mentioned liking, as well as the volume mousse to the AG mousse/gel. Also, I’ve heard the volume lotion is basically the discontinued thickening lotion. Not sure if you tried it, but if so, does it seem the same overall? Thanks!
I was wondering the same. I still have most of the bottle of thickening lotion that I bought as I don't use a lot each wash day. I remember Chelle doing a thickening lotion video about a year or so ago. Search her channel.
I have fine, medium porosity hair. This stuff works well as a curl enhancer. Not sure why it would be better for coarse hair. Does not weigh my hair down at all. I can all use it with some Curlsmith products. Try it on its own but after a deep conditioner.
Thank you soooo so much for making this video. I'm in that boat where I've tried so many things, but I do think it's my thyroid now. I have been searching so much for information like this. ♥️
Her turned out really nice. As a fellow wavy gal, I usually go first for leave-in (brush style your way), then foam, plop and gel after but I may just try it your daughter's way because that looks really good! Love from Greece
Thanks! Let us know how it works for you! Thank you for watching! I love still seeing you in the comments, you’ve been here a long time and I appreciate it so much!
I was not a fan of the Refresh Mousse either. It created a soap-like sticky lather in my hair and ended up making my hair flat and frizzy. My best defined curls still come from Not Your Mother's Curls mousse, which is about a third of the cost.
