Discovered her first album in 1975 while serving USAF at Lowry AFB in Colorado. Her voice here is just as rich, the lyrics just as stirring as then. She is truly an exceptional artist. Lyrics in her songs are so meaningful, not lightweight. And she has the perfect voice for these emotional songs. TY Ms. Bonoff. Your artistry has spoken to an appreciative audience.💞💞✌🏼✌🏼
Nothing like standing in the audience close enough to hear the native sound of her guitar (without hearing the PA) and watching her perform. A night I will never forget.
I would L❤VE to see Sir Philip Collins(now 73 !) give this gem 💎 a proper go,, ..while he is still with us ! 😢 🙏 Man, does that sound like his "brand" (at 0:19). 🎶 💙 Gather up Lee Sklar, Daryl S., Kunkel, Waddy W. ..do it up *right* , y'all. 🎸🥁 🥂
There is a place some of us chance to visit though few remain to live there. Sometimes after many a long year the memory is new again in dream or echoes in a song.
Listening to Karla is so emotional, especially right now. Both of my parents are in a Hospice Home, I live so far away, was with them for a week two weeks ago, caught Covid and had to go home. Preparing to go back next week. Our former Borser Collie was such a good girl, very talkative, she actually snuggled with my husband and me in 2014 and sang along to Karla Bonoff with us for the whole album, never heard a dog do that, just Una.
I first heard this song in 1980, the very day that my long time girlfriend walked out on me. I just cried and cried. It felt like Carla had read my mind and knew the situation in every detail and emotion. Such a beautiful song but I will always associate it with that day 44 years ago. Life goes on.
This is a visual and sonic treasure. Karla Bonoff and the late great Kenny Edwards. Time is precious and fleeting. I just saw Karla live in Clearwater Florida in 2024 and her voice was just as you hear it here. A beautiful and soulful artist.
OMG - I am so jealous - down here in MIA. Looking at traveling to Franklin, TN to see this treasure. What an underrated talent! Every bit as talented as Linda Rondstadt, Carol King and many others of the era.
She's not underrated. Everybody here seems to like her. I do. She had the unfortunate circumstance of being a female singer song writer at the same time as carly simon, joni mitchell and carole king. She appears highly rated by people who have heard her sing.
You forget Linda Ronstadt also recorded quite a few of Karla's songs. I really much prefer Karla's musical choices and voice over Linda's. Recently saw her in Park City Utah in the spring of 2024. Ive been a fan since 1979.
@@danblumelI was comparing Ms. Bonoff to other singer-songwriters. Linda was a terrific performer, but did not write songs. She covered Warren Zevon and J.D. Souther as well.
Beautiful voice...always liked her music, even when my fave Linda Ronstadt covered some of Karla's songs. Also the late, great Kenny Edwards on bass is an added treat.
What a great song! Must admit though I have enjoyed this for a very long time I would have bet the family farm that it was Linda Ronstadt . I did read about your connection with her so it makes sense. I want to learn this song.

KarlaBonoff and Dan Fogelberg two iconic American singer songwriters! Wouldn’t of been great if they could’ve done something together some project! Now that would’ve been something!
