At the end of the 3rd episode of the 40th anniversary special, “Time War: Part 2” (2003), the War Doctor regenerates into the 9th Doctor and it says at the end “Doctor Who will return in 2005”
@@Olivercomet Please be a bit more precise, I can't find it, specifically the bit that played from the Eighth Doctor drinking the potion to regenerating into the War Doctor in your video
@@Olivercomet Thanks, I'm going to use it in future for a universe where a version of Richard E Grant's Doctor regenerates into a version of the War Doctor played by Alec Newman
Honestly, imagine if 8 or 9 took the role of the war doctor. I love John Hurt's Doctor but they could have done the whole extra regenerations thing with Capaldi, which IMO would have worked way better. Especially if Capaldi went through the whole final conflict against the Cybermen not believing he could regenerate, and rather than trying to prevent his regeneration because he didn't want to, was trying to prevent it because he thought it would mean a painful death. He could have then changed into Jodie, and the Timeless Child plotline could have largely carried out the same. Being the big payoff for the big mystery of how the Doctor was able to continue regenerating.
