Dum la 1980-aj jaroj mi parolis nur Esperanton vivante kun Manŭelo Campagna. Li estas franc-kanada, mi estas anglo-kanada. Dum ni ambaŭ estas franca/angla dulingvaj, ni elektis Esperanton. Ni daŭre komunikas preskaŭ ĉiutage en Esperanto en sociaj retoj. Ni rigardas Esperanton kiel inter-gent-an lingvon. Ĉiuj aliaj lingvoj venas el gentenco kaj estas daŭrigataj per naskiĝado, konkerado aŭ asimilado.
Kie vi estas Evildea nia Dio?? Vi ne plu scipovas paroli Esperanton?? Kaj amikoj, ĉu vi ne plu iras al la Maison del Esperanto?? Donu al ni kelkajn novaĵojn.. Faru kelkajn filmetojn denove.. Dankon..
Kelkaj reformetoj ŝajnas al mi sukcesontaj, kiel «ri» (nur kiel aldonata pronomo, ne kiel anstataŭa pronomo), kaj kiel «na». Ankaŭ «far», eĉ se mi malŝategas ĝin. La vira signifo en vortoj kiel «patro» ŝajnas pli kaj pli perdota. Mi faras kelkajn fekafiŝojn pri reformetoj, kiujn mi ne kredas sukcesontaj (kiel «da» regantan ambaŭ kazojn (do iĝus aprobinda «kiom da jarojn vi havas»), kaj kiel prunti «esm» el Ido) sed ankoraŭ konsiderindaj, eĉ se nur kiel ŝercoj.
Rosetta Stone isn't overpriced anymore. 200 dollar one time purchase for EVERY language. I used the Japanese one years ago (I study Japanese through anime and manga now 😂) but I'm considering purchasing the bundle. I'm not currently learning Chinese I just was curious how the Chinese course was. Edit: I bought the bundle.
I got into Toki Pona as well but the community was so small and access to learning was hard because you’re one lonely Toki Pona learner. I still have my Toki Pona pdf lesson book from the students that created it. I gotta go find it. I’m thinking it’s time to brush it off.
I've unfortunately abandoned Esperanto for a year or so, and then randomly remembered about your channel and decided to see if I would still catch any of the language by listening. And this is the first video I watch. I was legitimately thinking I forgot it this much and even started going with the philosophical thoughts about how weird it feels to not understand a person you used to understand before. I was genuinely happy to see that this is not even Esperanto and I can actually still understand most of the things you say in your Esperanto vlogs hahaha

I do like esperanto. Believe me, but it has not been useful. The truth is that it's hard to find speakers of Esperanto. If you happen to find them, you will see how elitist they are, and even rude when you make mistakes which is hilarious as most of them are not native speakers.
I’m sorry to hear that’s your experience. In every community there are those who want to make themselves feel important by belittling others. Of course, it also exists in our community :/ when I encounter these types of people I just call them out for their shit and move on lol.
I follow Metatron, an italian historian who usually debunks misconceptions about historic events, people and cultures. I was so disappointed when he made a video on Esperanto and said he would never learn it because it has no culture and feels empty. By that he showed that he is not the researcher I thought he was. He obviously knows nothing about today's Esperanto movement, but "feels" that there is no culture.
I agree with many of your points. Esperanto really needs to appeal more to the youth, the future of the language. Esperanto associations, while great, are generally not going to be the most effective way to spread the movement. Not only are they not the most practical because it makes the movement look like some wacko and niche cult, but they are not the most accessible to the youth as you mentioned. While, not only does it seem that they are usually for older members, many cities generally lack them to begin with. Even if they do have them, people can still find it to be difficult to attend meetings as not everyone is able to travel across their cities (if they even live in one) to go to meetings when they have things like school and work and a general lack of transportation. The only way they could be more prevalent amongst the youth is if nearly every school, which isn't really attainable because we would need way more members first. Also, the websites are often very confusing and hard to navigate as they are old and they don't feel very reliable which is not very good when appealing to new members. One good thing is that there are a lot of accessible resources for the youth to learn the language online like Duolingo, Lernu, and more that are free. It would be nice if Duolingo made Esperanto memes which would encourage more members to join it. The youth should also spread the language to more platforms imo like Roblox and other places. I am glad that we have Telegram now at least.
In sweden we have some laws that is about the sami people. But not all of the sami people only the ones that owns raindeers. So only part of the population. I think it has created some problems and solved others. I dont think its good to give diffrent rights to a minority group in reality is not a stable solution.
