This video really shows how media can be altered for purposes of propaganda. They mention the fifth place medalist, going to Germany’s ally of the time, but skip over Maria Kwasniewska, the bronze place medalist representing Poland. Maria actually stood up to Hitler after he mocked her stature and country. Note that she isn’t gesturing in the photograph, either. The fourth place is Austria, Hitler’s own country of origin.
Whenever I see javelin competition I shudder as I think about the judges having to stand at the end of the trajectory to mark where the javelin while still in the air landed.
I bet the disturbance in the water that killed him was caused by that large cruise ship or ferry he passed right before the accident. It wasn’t moving but still could’ve caused enough wake to cause that upset at that speed.
